This was the worst experience I ever had. It started off last November with "Bobby " their salesman, he seemed great I could reach him anytime if I had questions. My pick up date was based off of his schedule. I needed to move from the west coast to the east coast on Feb 3rd 2018, he stated if they picked up my household and 3 businesses on Jan 20th it would arrive on or before Feb 3rd. I said let's do this, they showed up promptly on the 20th. After having their truck fully loaded with my life they handed me the paper work with almost a 100% mark up! First I want to say I was in a binding agreement with them so by law they needed to present me with overage charges prior to loading Any thing. I tried reaching Bobby by email and phone from the 20th-22nd and he didn't return any messages. He called me back later on the 22nd screaming at me and hung up , I have never spoke to him again. I want to say I did not have an extra 3 bedroom house to warrant these extra charges. After Bobby hung up I called back asking to speak to the owner I was told their are multiple owners and they don't come in. The next day I called back and spoke to Marie who passes me off to Carla, I was told by her "I don't know what to tell you" and " your belongings will not arrive by Feb 3rd that it will be 21 business days. To make a longer story short the address they use is NOT their location nor city. The warehouse they claim to bring your belongings to is a storage facility where they rent cubes to put your belongings in. I researched this company and found Carla to actually be the CEO who actually told me she will not speak to me. If I attempted to call they would not answer but if I called from a different number they would and state someone will call me back this went on for over 21 business days, I sent an employee over to there actual location in Reseda and on video chat I watch Miss CEO yell at an innocent guy. I had to hire an attorney, I have filed a complaint with DOT. I finally received my belongings after 34 days , items missing items broken and they did not assemble the items they disassembled and now I have to hire someone else to complete their work. I had also asked them to surrender my belongings so I could hire someone else and they ignored me, this is in writing as well. I will be moving forward with my claim against them with DOT , and every other entity possible also a law suit. They are horrible people and unless you want this to be your story stay clear. Move from Oxnard to Covina and horrible experience. NOT UPFRONT on explaining they charge for all tape, wrap, boxes, etc. I drove and took 1.5 hours w/no traffic. They claimed it took 2 hours which is double drive time!!!! Two pieces of furniture broken and TV. Paid extra for packing of tv as I did not see xtra packing!!!!! They used only elevator at apt in Covina stacking boxes in front of elevator disrupting tenants and standing around waiting for elevator when they could have used nearby stairs at $120 hour???? Drivers did not read or speak English very well ad did not know what was written on boxes!!!!! Would not respond to my losses and assist with replacement. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE, much better out there and cheaper!!!! read more

Scam Alert! Be aware of these guys. I called them to move a few items from my apartment in west Los Angeles to a new one in Santa Monica. The distance was less then 7 miles. When I called they stated that it won't take that long to move these few items, so I was happy to hear that from Eric (sales representative). The guys came to my apartment after 3 pm (totally exhausted from a previous moving). Afterwards, they started moving my staff in a very unprofessional way. I told them that the first thing you do in moving is to rap up staff, so they won't get dirt or scratches. They started to listen to me, but I got a bad first impressions about them. Then while they were moving the board of the bed, I went out to find out that they are putting the board side on the street without rapping it or any kind of protection. I was mad at that time because the board got scratches all over that side. While they were moving the rest of the bed, they broke one of the screws, and they left the bed without completion because they told me that I'm going over 4 hours, and asked me to sign new documents which I refused. AT THAT POINT I FELT I'M GOING THROUGH A SCAM WITH UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY THAT DAMAGED MY FURNITURE, AND LEFT THE JOB WITHOUT COMPLETION. I WAS TOTALLY FRUSTRATED AND PISSED WITH THOSE GUYS, SO I KICKED THEM OUT OF MY APARTMENT. Later someone called me to apologize for the mess they did, and promised he would solve the problem, but so far he did nothing. I am disputing the charge with my bank, and I will file a complaint with BBB, so people won't fall through their scam like what has happened to me. read more

I received the best of the customer service that any person can wish for... Eric G was outstanding even on the last details, and so was his manager Bobby, they accommodate my moving that consisted only on a few dozens of boxes across the country. The picking up of the boxes by Cesar Esquivel and his driver was totally professional and smooth. And the delivery was on time (day and hour). My boxes arrived in perfect conditions and the price was very reasonable. I could not ask for a better service during the stressful time of a moving situation! I waited until my move was complete before posting a review. I recently moved from Valencia, CA to Houston, TX. I can't rave enough about the service of the Up Front Mover Team! It starts with the client rep., Bobby....WOW, what a pro! Up Front didn't give me the lowest bid; however in the end, I'm sure I got the best deal, hands down! Bobby guided me through the entire process...He asked TONS of detailed questions to best estimate the move costs. And here's the best part: if you work WITH them to provide information, you WILL get a realistic bid and NO SURPRISES! On to the load/pack: Cesar headed a team of two others, Freddy and Martin....again, nothing but PROFESSIONAL work! They did an amazing job of packing and loading...making sure to maximize my space and pack any remaining items with the utmost skill. If you get these three, you will be in GREAT HANDS! Carla communicated with me during the interim until my furnishings were loaded and on their way to me in Houston. She is such a delight! Never drops one detail and makes sure you are informed of status throughout! My things arrived in a timely manner and Larry and his teammate Tony were the two that delivered my things. Once again, pleasant professionals to deal with! I haven't opened everything, but with the exception of a couple of boxes that got wet due to being near the door and the trailer driving through a TERRIBLE STORM, I've seen only pristine boxes and my furnishings unscathed! I've had so many friends who have had horror stories moving...breakage, late, holding their things ransom for additional monies...I could go on and on.... YOU WILL HAVE NONE OF THOSE PROBLEMS! I will definitely use UP FRONT again should I need moving again. And for those in the LA area, they have a local company for moves around LA. THESE GUYS ROCK! This is a terrible moving company. In a nutshell, here are my issues: 1. The original quote was for $1700, the final amount paid was over $4,500. My shipment was held until their determination of payment is made, which is essentially holding the shipment hostage. The original quote went from $1700 to $2700 on the moving day. 2. The two movers who showed up at the house started bubble wrapping everything, without telling me I would be charged for this. I was then charged over $500 for this service, after the fact! New price, $3200. 3. I requested a particular move-in date window, and after calling repeatedly every day over 10 days to get an estimate on the date, was told that the shipment would not happen in that window. I then told UpFront I would be traveling for work over specific dates, and while on my business trip was called and told the shipment would be delivered the next day. I had notified UpFront that I would not be able to accept shipment while traveling, and they nonetheless arranged for shipment during that period. I could not fly back in time to make this date, and the items were then placed in a storage facility at the rate of $700 a week, and the delivery date pushed back 8 days. New price, $3900 4. In the days prior to the revised delivery date, I was told that the truck could not drive in the neighborhood because the roads would not permit. This was completely wrong - full size tractor trailer moving trucks drive in the neighborhood on a weekly basis, with no issues. UpFront was able to extract another $600 out of me. New price, $4500. 5. Bri, the original point of contact was completely useless, and provided mis-information. Carla, Bri's manager, was rude and unsympathetic. And the owner's second in charge, David, called to insist that UpFront would assist with the various issues and then never returned my calls or emails. 6. To add insult to injury, multiple items were broken, and an entire box went missing. I was now out another several thousand dollars. This was the worst moving experience ever. UpFront is a misnomer, the name couldn't be further from the truth - there is nothing "up front" about the quote, process or experience. Buyer beware! read more

NEVer ever use this company. Showed up with a 3rd guy and initially said it would be $45 extra, then at the end charged $45 an hour extra. We had to tell them how to stack and help them with moving and carrying. On top of that, when we had called to book we were told that they would use wrap and blankets to move our furniture and that this service was included in the price. The movers wanted to charge extra to use the wrap and blanket during the move!! The move was only 10 maybe 13 miles! If I could would not even give 1 star! read more

Don't trust them when they give you a phone quote: Bobby says "I've been doing this a long time, I know what's in a house that size". The price goes up while they're loading, and you're literally stuck. Don't use them to move out of state. So many items damaged, a lot by water. (Unk. how many times it was loaded/unloaded in the two weeks before delivery.) They're real nice until you have a problem. Shop around, make sure someone comes to do the estimate. read more

Beware! We selected Up Front Movers for our move and storage needs, but were forced to wait for all of our things in two different deliveries, 15 days apart from each other, missing and damaged items. In order to receive any compensation from our claims, they wanted us to sign an agreement to keep our mouths shut about any problems with the company. We feel you as a potential customer should not be deceived. They claim they have no negative feedback from previous clients and have such a great reputation, but agree customer are silenced if they want any refund. We decided not to get refund, so that we could share our experience with other potential customers, so you don't get suckered into a bad situation like we did. This is exactly what the document states under their Confidentiality section: "All parties to this agreement, their agents, attorneys, subsidiaries, heirs or administrators hereby agree that all events, circumstances, facts, documents, e-mail, contracts, correspondence, communication, and transactions will forever remain confidential. Specifically, all events surrounding this move including but not limited to Carrier's business practices, contracts, policies, shipping documents, acts or actions of employees, agents, subsidiaries, officers, directors and other person involved with this move are to remain strictly confidential. Non-disclosure to third parties: Both parties to this settlement understand and agree that no claims, complaints or reports of the events, circumstances, facts, documents, e-mails, contracts, correspondence, communication, and transactions between the parties shall in any way be disclosed or reported to any third party entity." read more

We used Up Front Movers to move from Huntington Beach to Monte Rio CA. Cesar, Billy, and Carlos were efficient, professional, and helpful...Cesar even re-assembled our desk and dining room table! Since we arrived a few hours later than they did, these movers started unloading the truck so that many of our belongings were ready to be moved into the house immediately, which really expedited the whole process. Nothing was broken, and all our furniture and fragile items were wrapped well. Overall, we had a great experience with this moving company and our movers. However, we had some price tag shock when our original estimate for a 2 bedroom condo ($2100 total) turned into $3600 when we apparently went over the number of boxes/items and square footage used in the estimate. We were charged for some packaging material too. Its nearly impossible to accurately estimate the exact number of items, boxes, and square feet you will use in a move when you get your initial quote, so be prepared for additional charges. read more

The only move I'd trust this company with is a bowel movement. Ranks among the worst experiences of my life. More expensive yet inferior service than their competitors. Even with plenty of notice prior to the move, they managed to drop the ball so badly I thought I was watching the New Year's Eve ball drop in Time's Square. Don't be sweet talked by their mom-and-pop pitch, with their "dedicated" team, you'll never be able to reach them once the ink is dry and they have your money. I actually gave them a month's notice, had my furniture picked up, bought tickets to fly across the country to receive my shipment and flew thousands of miles, only to discover that my belongings were still in a warehouse ten miles from my home. They referred to small print in the contract, made us extend our trips by weeks in order to be there when the furniture arrived, and damaged practically every item entrusted to their care. This wasn't accidental damage, they actually wrote on items with indelible ink! Don't even think of hiring Up Front Movers, unless you're getting divorced and moving out your ex! read more

We will not be using this company for our move again. There were not alot of items to move, but it seemed the movers wanted to kill time by having one mover working consistently, while the other movers took various breaks. I even noticed one mover wasting time talking to the neighbors, which he was not being paid for. We left for about 45 minutes expecting for things to be just about wrapped up, considering that all the items that needed to be moved were in one area of the house, with the expection of two or three items in one or two other locations in the house. We got back, most of the items were sitting on the ramp of the truck, with maybe about 5 other items still needing to be moved onto the truck. The move should have taken no more than 5 to 6 hours if we were to include the drive time. But it seemed as though the movers were dragging there feet, wasting time, to maximize the hours, almost as though they knew the move was a light order, given the above details. (The move was from Los Angeles, CA to Perris, CA, without rush hour traffic). They quoted us for 7 hours. However, they charged for 8 hours. Considering that I was told by the Sales Manager, Luis Garcia, that the drive time was included in the price, not the hours quoted, we should not have been charged an additional $95. I spoke with Don, the supervisor who claimed that he would listen to the tape and help to rectify the situation once the movers were paid, and if there was fault on their in, we would be refunded back the $95. He talked a good game, but I knew I could not trust him because I impression I got of him through our conversation that he was the typical salesman, pitching a lie to get what he wanted out of the situation. I know business jargon when I hear it. I sent him a text message detailing our dissatisfaction with the move and he has yet to respond or follow up with any information about the misinformation I was given. I am writing this to inform anyone who is thinking of using Up Front Movers for a long distance move to beware and hire another company. I did a move from SoCal to Dallas and it was horrible on every level. First thing you need to know is that your items will be loaded and unloaded on multiple trucks and be in different storage facilities before you ever get it. It doesn't load up on one truck that gets delivered to your door just as you saw it go in. Many people you have never seen have access to your things. And they outsource the movers, they just throw on an Up Front T- shirt when they arrive. FYI- their real moving company name was still on their truck, and it wasn't Up Front. Anything fragile was shattered, large Rubbermaid containers were split on the sides and crushed flat, crystal and pieces of plates falling out of the sides as they rolled them in my door-just what everyone dreams of when paying well over 10,000 dollars for a move. And you get nothing for all your broken, shattered, chipped, scratched, torn and destroyed items. Your claim settlement is calculated by weight, and expensive crystal doesn't weigh that much, so your just screwed. Next, the billing. Wow, where do I begin- first thing to understand is their online estimate is no where near what they will bill you. Their sales team are wonderful, they paint a picture that this will be a great experience and they are reputable and affordable. The dispatch was assuming we would just pay anything they calculated in regards to cubic feet, and to their surprise, we can calculate cubic feet also. They were demanding another 3,000 dollars at arrival for allegedly using more cubic feet, after they already added 4,000 dollars to their online quote. And of course all of this happens after you have given a non-refundable deposit and turned down all the other companies that I now wish I hadn't. When the local Dallas mover arrived with our items that he loaded on his truck from a warehouse here, we were ready. The move that was online quoted around 8,000, then jumped to over 12,000 was now over 15,000- because of cubic feet usage. And it wasn't true, our things simply didn't fill that much of the semi. So the driver, followed the directions of Up Front Movers and demanded the overpayment in full before we could have OUR things. We requested that he open the truck so we could see how much cubic feet we really used. Heads up Up Front, the woman who runs your dispatch could be heard a block away on the cell phone speaking to the local Dallas mover screaming repeatedly "don't let them on that truck" well we did get on the truck, took pictures with our phone at exactly where OUR cubic feet ended in the truck- and sent it directly to Up Front Movers. Needless to say their attemp at fraudulent over billing was not successful and we really did not owe the extra 3,000 that they tried to collect while holding all of our things hostage. Moving a family is stressful enough, this never should have happened, but it did. They know how unhappy we are with them, and after speaking to them they said " do what you feel you need to". We will send a link to your email with the claim forms for your broken items. So as a customer, they over billed me from the original quote thousands, attempted to fraudulently over bill us thousands, and they destroyed thousands of dollars of my things- literally. And they offered me to fill out forms to get a few hundred dollars- I don't recommend ANYONE use them, and who ever reads this please know I have never in my life bothered to fill out a bad review until now- they deserve this completely. read more

Beware before hiring this company. I learned the hard way. Do your research. I was booked by Bobby who told me they would take my furniture to Raleigh NC and when I needed it I would have it. That was a selling point for me because I was moving to NC. Later, found out it was in storage in LA, CA.(1st lie). Upon arriving at my home in Sacramento, CA 5/3 the price changed but since I had sold my home and had to get out ASAP I paid the additional $2000.00(2nd lie). My furniture was in storage for almost 5 months once I received it in N.C. the driver arrived, 9/5, with workers; who I later learned did not work for Up Front Movers(3rd lie because I believe they were their employees). Erick had gotten them off of Craig list; later told this by one of the workers. One of the workers stole $400 from my home. Surprise- or not Up Front Movers did not or would not reimburse anything. Finally, the driver, Erick, would not allow the workers to put my refrigerator into my home because of it size. But once the workers told him they could get it in he turned to me and said if you pay them they will put it in. I had no choice because I needed it and paid them $100. Carla agreed to reimbursed me the $100 but it has been over a month and I have not heard from her. I called today but could not get an answer to my dilemma. I asked for the owners name and was told by Elise that she & Carla was the owners but only Carla could help me. I will continue to fight for my reimbursement. All of them were nice when they were getting my business but now their tone and mannerism have changed. As I told them they should know the type of workers they are booking to come into customers homes because they are believed to be Up Front Movers employees. I have dealt with numerous movers during my 25 years of moving with the military but had never been robbed or had someone to refuse to bring in my appliance. It is truth buyer beware.
