Desperate for help, I started checking around and calling every company I could find for an emergency fix. I was sooo lucky to stumble upon Low Country Garage Doors on Yelp. I spoke with James who quoted me a low standard price for a consultation and to fix the problem if he didn't need to replace equipment. Because they are based ~2 hours away from Atlanta, there was a $40 upcharge for him to make a special trip to the city. I didn't care, I needed the fix! Unfortunately my timing didn't work out on Saturday, so I called James again to lock down a time for Sunday. He estimated an arrival time between 12-3pm and ended up being 10 minutes early! James and his father are incredibly knowledgeable about garage doors. It only took them one look at the situation to determine exactly what was wrong and how to fix the issue permanently so I would not have to deal with this issue again. They ended up replacing the rail and ensuring everything ran smoothly - all done in 30 minutes! James and his father are so pleasant that I asked them if they knew how to fix two additional issues at the property - two doors were not latching properly - and they helped me out with that as well! I saved the headache of not having to call a handyman. This is what superior service looks like - if you're needing help with your garage door, look no further!

He runied my experience with his company and I canceled an upcoming job. The owner was acting like a child when I paid good money for multiple moves I was a fantastic client with cash payments and he obliterated that by being unable to control his greed. It stained my morning so I am going to make sure I place another review here to explain what kind of person runs Elite Movers in Acworth. The most rude business owner I have EVER encountered

Like any…read moresavvy consumers, we searched the internet for recommendations for moving companies that did exceptional work for a fair price. Elite Moving Solutions seemed to have remarkable reviews across the board. I called and spoke to Ryan, who was extremely helpful and friendly. They're in Acworth, so an in-person visit was a bit of a challenge, so he had me send pictures to evaluate our needs. We had a lively and timely back and forth via email with questions from me (always answered fully) and advice from him (always useful and to the point), and arrived at a way-more-than- fair price (what I considered a modest truck fee for two trucks, and a modest hourly rate for five guys) and a move date. The day of the move, the crew arrived on time and ready to go. I can't say enough how incredible these guys were. The last thing we expected on Moving Day was to have fun, and my wife and daughter and I had an absolute blast. I've never seen five guys work so hard and have such a good time doing it, and they were a joy to spend the day with. They were incredibly careful with our stuff, smart, efficient, indefatigable. Our old house was one story, with wide straight hallways and wide doorways and a front porch they were able to back up to and set the ramp directly on--the new house has steep stairs to the second floor and to the basement, narrow doorways, tight twisty hallways, and three different access points, none of them near the truck. A terrible way to end the day, and still their energy never flagged. They enjoyed competing with one another--when John came up the stairs with two boxes of books, Dexter followed behind with two boxes on his back. Maybe best of all, they really seemed to respect and care about one another--it was like having your friends come over to help you move. So major shout outs to Ojo, Dexter, James, John and Jacorey (a father and son team!)--you guys were awesome and we can't thank you enough. We've been unpacking for days now, and I haven't seen a single ding on anything. Seriously, if you're moving, you need to hire this company.

Victor exudes excellent customer service which is important especially when working with a contractor for a long period of time. He communicates well and will let you know if there is a material delay or anything else that can happen when performing home improvement projects. He's honest and there are no hidden costs. He replaced my picture window which had a leak but once he Victorized it I never had any problems no matter how hard it rains. He also repaired and replaced window screens and blinds. He verbally quoted me $1,500 for an IKEA laminate counter kitchen installation. The cost of the IKEA laminate counter (3 pieces) was only $300. I felt the $1,500 was a bit high but I was having trouble finding someone to install laminate and Victor seemed knowledgeable regarding my project. The project should have taken a day, but Victor was extremely slow. He also let me know he now charges hourly. After day one, he was still setting up his equipment and adjusting my an ikea kitchen drawers which he claimed were off. Not much more done on day 2, day 3, finally started cutting counter tops. I asked him repeatedly where were were on price which he said he would let me know but did not. The evening before he did the actual install on my counter he sent me a text stating he was at $4,500. I was could not even believe this. I did not respond until the next day when he arrived. I had a conversation with him regarding the price he was now charging, he said he had to adjust some cabinets, I did not even pay that much to have my whole IKEA kitchen installed! I knew he was going to leave me is a mess, no counter, sink, etc. I told him to finish and when he was done, I tried to talk with him again about the original $1,500 estimate to now $4,500. He got very heated, so I gave him a check for the full amount which I so regret now but I was uncomfortable with his reaction and wanted him to leave my home. Please beware and don't make the same mistakes I did by hiring Victor who took total advantage of me and he knows it.

Six years ago, during the process of purchasing our home, we encountered a serious issue: the…read moreproperty we fell in love with had foundation problems. In order for our lender to approve the mortgage, the foundation needed to be repaired. We selected AFS to perform the repairs because they offered a lifetime warranty on the home's foundation--an assurance that gave us peace of mind. The initial repairs were completed, and we were issued a lifetime warranty. The bank approved the loan, and we purchased the home. Two years later, we noticed that cracks on both the front and back of the foundation appeared to be worsening. We contacted AFS, who came out, confirmed the deterioration, and proceeded to tear down the drywall in the basement on the front side of the house. They installed more large metal reinforcement strips--the same as what was done during the original repair. However, per their policy, they did not replace the drywall or clean up any of the resulting mess. We were left to hire another contractor to rebuild the walls and restore the area. Two more years passed, and once again, we observed worsening cracks. We reached out to AFS, who initially attempted to charge a service fee for their visit. After reminding them of the lifetime warranty, the fee was eventually waived. Upon inspection, they confirmed the issue was indeed getting worse. This time, however, they stated that they would not perform any further repairs, claiming that the original payment ($10,000) only covered the amount of work already done and that additional repairs would not be included. We argued that the warranty explicitly covered the foundation for the lifetime of the home, regardless of the initial cost. We were ultimately refused further assistance. At this point, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and included AFS in the correspondence. Within 20 minutes, a manager from AFS contacted me, offering to help resolve the issue. Following this, AFS returned and proposed a more aggressive repair: tearing down the basement walls yet again, installing large steel beams, and anchoring rods into the ground from the exterior--requiring the driveway to be torn up in the process. They assured us this would permanently stabilize the foundation. While the driveway was repaired, we were again left with extensive interior damage, and for the third time, we paid out of pocket to restore the basement walls. Now, two years later, we are once again facing shifting in our foundation. AFS again attempted to charge a service fee. After inspection, their technician confirmed that while the front of the house is stable, the back is sinking--a concern we previously raised when they were last on-site. We were explicitly told then that stabilizing the front would protect the entire structure. When I asked for clarification, the technician confirmed that our home is essentially splitting in half and could eventually slide down the hill into the creek. However, they now claim the warranty only applies to the specific wall where the original repairs were made--not the foundation as a whole. This contradicts the lifetime foundation warranty we were promised at the outset. (And was the only reason we were even able to get the loan to purchase the home in the first place) After six years, three major repair efforts, and repeated assurances that our home's foundation was secured, AFS is now refusing to honor the warranty they provided. We are left with a structurally compromised home and few options. To any homeowners considering foundation repair: please be warned. Our experience with AFS has shown that their warranty may not provide the protection you are led to believe it does. They have applied temporary fixes and walked away, leaving us with mounting costs and a home that may ultimately be unsafe.
