The 1st time I met John from MHH Outdoor Solutions, was as a subcontractor from another company. He…read morewas called in at the last minute to get our driveway graded before delivery in the morning. He did a very smooth job in the dark I might add. After that, he was brought in to assist in the excavating against our house for a drainage issue. We had an underground spring which required tanks, sump pump installation, and pipes running water away from our house. John dug out the area without hitting or scraping our house or porch. This was one of my biggest fears having this done and he did a great job. He listened to my concerns, was respectful of me and our property, and offered solutions for other issues we have around our yard. His company will be my 1st call for future hardscaping and landscaping jobs. I highly recommend him and his company.

James & J Pressure Washing & More

James & J Pressure Washing & More

I requested an estimate to repair/replace the floor of my screened-in porch…read more I was in session with a client; so, my sister met with James & his counterpart. She felt James was not very professional at all. He didn't really ask about what we were trying to do or why. Just took a quick look, without inspecting the flooring, beams, or anything, and said he could fix it with about 12 pieces of plywood. He didn't explain his process, timeline, or anything. He didn't ask about, or offer, any other options we might've wanted to consider for flooring. On the way out, my sister said he mentioned that he could've cut our tree down for us (we had arborists in a huge tree taking it down), he could pressure wash, and do just about anything else. RED FLAG #1: TRUST YOUR GUT. We have the same nerve cells in our bellies as we have in our brain. If your gut is screaming about someone you've only just met, that's a problem. RED FLAG #2: For a basic handyman, being skilled at different things is great. If you're looking for an EXPERT, however, for a specific task/project, DO NOT ever go with a jack-of-all-trades-but-a-master-of-none!!!! Get someone who has invested time & discipline in their craft! It makes a world of difference in the quality of work. Overall, my sister reported that she felt very uncomfortable with both James and his counterpart. A couple of hours after he left, I get a text from this guy. But he met with my SISTER, remember. The text read (copied & pasted verbatim): "yes material to replace all the boards it an screws is 700 an labors would be 1200 including taking old wood off an put down new wood if the ain't anything underneither is rotten" No explanation of what kind of wood, how much wood, pressure treated or not, etc. And PLEASE help me understand $1200 for a little 12x30 deck subfloor! RED FLAG #3: Shouldn't he have LOOKED to see if the base wood was solid or needed replacing along with the top flooring - so he would know if "anything underneither is rotten"?!?! Then, this man, whom I've never seen, or met, has the nerve to text me (copied & pasted verbatim): #1 "ok when would u want it done mama" #2 "an pressurewashingwe can also do that too" #3 "ur driveway an sidewalk an house" WTH?!?! Sir, you don't know me like that!!! I am NOT your "mama", "baby," "sweetie," "darling," or otherwise!! I WAS a POTENTIAL CUSTOMER (that you just lost) by being way too comfortable with being disrespectful OR too careless to read your text message for spelling errors before sending. My friends call me Michael, my clients call me Dr. G; you, Sir, may address me as Ma'am or Dr. Godfrey! I was so offended, I simply did not answer. Done. You think? Not yet! The next day, Wednesday, I get a text at 9:57PM that read (copied & pasted verbatim): "Yes r u interested in us doin ur project" I responded Thursday morning, at 9:57AM saying simply, "No, thank you." To which I get the following text response (copied & pasted verbatim): "ok what r u needing done ever u want t the flooring replaced or just repair an patch an cault the joint an re painted" I'm sorry; what part of "no, thank you" did you not understand? I was so pissed that I just blocked the guy at that point. I cannot even make this stuff up!! And I cannot say anything about this guy personally nor can I comment on his work. He could very well be a great guy who does great work; but first impressions matter when you are asking someone to spend thousands of dollars.

James called me back within a half an hour and dropped by within another hour to give me a quote…read more He pressure washed my driveway, stone stairs, rear and front walkway for a very reasonable price. He and his crew did a great job in a timely manner and finished in the time promised.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY…read more Cheikh Senghor of Lion Fence LLC (an administratively dissolved entity in the state of Georgia) entered into contract with me totaling $14685,75 all taxes include. I paid the required deposit of $9500 for the purchase of material with the balance to be paid at the completion of the fence installation. He never purchased material, never installed my fence and has failed to refund my $9500. We paid our deposit by the end of January and for 6 weeks, Cheikh Senghor gave numerous excuses why the fence work could not start: 1. It's raining where the material is located (even though it wasn't raining at my home) 2. He had to fire the business "partner" who had to work on my fence 3. The babysitter got rear-ended so he had to watch the baby 4.The day before another promised start date, he asked, did you call 811? I said yes. They never showed up. 5. His wife had to work so he had to watch the baby. 6. It rained the night before. Again, no rain at my property and Atlanta had amazing whether during the month of February. 7. He's sick. Leaves a message coughing. And, doctors can diagnose what's wrong with him. 8. He's at the doctor 7. He has Jummah at 2:15pm EST so can't send receipts showing he spent the $9500 or part thereof on material. He never sent proof. 8. He has to watch the baby 9. He's sick and "still at the doctor's appointment" 10. Work will start in the morning, "for sure", no work, no workers, no material. There are more excuses. I continuously asked him what was honestly causing the delay. I asked him about the material. He told me it was on his trailer. Then, on Friday, March 10, he told my fiancé that it was at a fence supplier located in Marietta, GA. We called the supplier and, yup, you guessed it, there was no such order ever placed and no such order pending pickup. We gave him many benefits of the doubt. He was scheduled to start work on Monday, March 13 and on Sunday, March 12, he sent a message at 10:42pm stating that he was canceling the contract. I was not surprised. He is a scam artist. He said I would get my refund in full today. And as of 10pm, on Monday, March 13, I haven't received a penny towards his repayment of my $9500. DO NOT TRUST CHEIKH SENGHOR. AND, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HIM IN ANY CAPACITY. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH LION FENCE. LION FENCE isn't a registered entity in the state of Georgia. This company was referred to me by a neighbor who had a great experience when the company was new and growing. That was then, this is now. As you can see from recent reviews, I am not alone in my distaste for the dishonesty and unprofessionalism shown by Mr. Senghor.

Cheikh and his team was very quick to come out and give estimates and then getting the work…read moreperformed was timely as agreed. His costs were competitive with the rest of the estimates we received. Once the work was done, as days and months went on, we noticed quality of work done was not great. Initially, our large gate started shifting and would not close. It was a hassle to get someone to come back to fix it. I was given lot of excuses, all similar to Stacy S's review. Eventually, I feel like I bugged enough and someone came out to make the repair. About 4 months ago, we noticed a post started to fall over and the surrounding posts were also very lose and starting to lean too. I messaged Cheikh immediately who said he would send someone out that week. No one came and no word from anyone. I reached out again and he said someone would come next week. Next week went by and still no action and silence after multiple messages and calls to them. It's now been 4 months since I reached out to get the posts properly installed and I have not heard back at all. I have messaged several times with no responses which is why I'm now leaving this negative review hoping it leads to some action or at least a reply. I'm happy to take this down if the posts get fixed.
