She explained the entire process over the phone and during the in-home visit. We also appreciated that Nannies Plus handled background checks, confirming CPR certification, etc. She set our expectations in the event it could take months to find a good match (we were only looking for part time). However, I think it was within the week, Joy had two good candidates for us. We interviewed both over the next couple of weekends and felt that either could have been a good fit. Joy's analysis of their respective strengths seemed spot on to us. We ended up having a nanny within 2-3 weeks. We had a very disappointing experience with this nanny agency. The business practices felt…read moreextremely unprofessional from the start -- we were never asked to sign a clear agreement outlining fees, guarantees, or policies before the search began. Terms discussed verbally (including a 6-month guarantee and a placement fee equivalent to 6 weeks of the nanny's pay) did not match the contract posted online, which stated no guarantees/refunds and a different fee structure for part-time placements. Communication was rushed and disorganized, consisting mostly of hastily written emails with little clarity around timelines, process, or next steps. Candidate quality was also highly questionable and often far outside the criteria we provided. One candidate was a no-show to the interview and had full voicemail/email inboxes with extremely poor communication. Another lived 1.5 hours away each direction in traffic, making the role unrealistic. Another openly described wanting "something easy" after being out of work and had no meaningful nanny experience. Out of four candidates, only one was a strong fit. When I raised concerns about inconsistencies between the verbal terms and the online contract, instead of discussing it professionally over the phone as requested, the agency responded with multiple hostile emails accusing me of trying to take advantage of them. I also noticed that many of the agency's positive reviews appear to be written by nannies rather than families who actually paid for placement services, which in hindsight feels somewhat misleading. Ultimately, we found an excellent nanny ourselves through Facebook groups. For the $6k+ fee, the experience was simply not worth the stress and lack of professionalism.

This was my first impression and I thought, "Wow, how committed and truly loving they are to come to their kid's weekend birthday parties and spend their extra money on gifts." When it came time for me to choose a daycare for my daughter, I knew she would be going to Caterpillar Wonderschool. My husband and I toured and agreed that this would be the perfect cozy in-home childcare for our daughter to join. She joined when she was 3 months old and I honestly attribute so much of her success to Ana and her staff's love and thoughtful engagement with her. She has always been on-benchmark for her age/developmental milestones and has blossomed into this incredibly happy person. She plays easily by herself and alongside others, is a curious learner, can share and wait for her turn, and cleans up after herself. She is a great eater - not picky about anything and is using utensils to eat! She has also become a voracious reader! She wants to read when getting her diaper changed, in her carseat, at dinner time, at play time ...at any time really. All of these skills and wants she developed at daycare and I could not be more thankful! It is also worth mentioning that Ana acted as a parent coach and collaborator with me. Whenever I had any questions or observations, she would stay after picking up or hop on a phone call and talk through what strategies we should try together or when the right timing is to make a shift. She was never shy about sharing her opinion and expertise even if I did not have a question and did so in a very gentle, kind, and loving way. Having Ana has made me a better parent. Ana and the Caterpillar Wonderful team are true gems and any children and parents that get to experience their care are so very lucky. We then enrolled in the before and after school program at the start of the school year, and Dianne Adair has really helped with his transition to kindergarten at Tice Creek. One small, but important, example - staff members will walk with the kindergarteners to and from their classrooms each day to make sure they get there okay. Early Beginnings also known as "Felicia's Daycare" was a referral from the Contra Costa Child Care Council one year ago, and are licensed (serving Concord/W.C. area since 1990). It was a very difficult stage for our family (separation) when my daughter began childcare with Felicia, however they helped us get through a rough phase just by simply taking very good care of her. We had been through 2 previous daycares - 1st daycare was exceptional, but financially in hardship at the time 2nd daycare - social services launched an investigation against staff behavior/conduct toward each other (immediately removed my child the day I received the phone call from social services agency. As you can imagine our ordeal, I never wanted my child to attend another daycare. I was faced with this challenge, among others, but continued to search and in good faith, found Felicia. A blessing in disguise... Felicia and her staff (Aga, Jacek, Teacher Tracy) provide a safe and loving environment for kids; a team of angels! A highly recommend this establishment. My daughter comes home happy & healthy; she verbalizes her daily functions during our car rides after picking her up from daycare. I am very content of the positive experience she has at school. Felicia's is a truly loving and nurturing child care that quickly became our second family. Our daughter loved going every day and was always so happy and excited to go, which I think says a lot. And my daughter is not the easiest child, she has very strong opinions about everything: how she sleeps, what she eats, playtime... everything. I always knew she was having an amazing time playing with the other kids, doing crafts, and enjoying homemade organic meals like soups and oatmeal. The environment is another huge plus. The play areas, living room, nap spaces, bedrooms, and outdoor space are all incredibly clean and well cared for. That was very important to me, and it gave me peace of mind knowing she was in a healthy, safe space. Iuliia is also incredibly flexible and understanding. She was accommodating with schedule changes, makeup days after vacations, and even extra days when needed (with notice). As a working mom, and now a mom of two, knowing that he is somewhere safe, loved, happy, and incredibly well cared for has been priceless. You can genuinely see how much Lullia loves and cares about the kids. Our son absolutely loves going to her house, playing with his friends, making pancakes, dressing up, doing art projects, and playing outside in her beautiful, safe backyard. He comes home with a new art project almost every day and is always excited to tell us about what they did. Her home and daycare setup are also exceptionally clean, organized, and filled with fun activities for the kids. Our son is getting ready to start preschool, and even though we know he is ready for this next step, I am honestly heartbroken that he won't be going to Lullia's every week anymore. She has been such a wonderful part of his early childhood, and we hope he can still come back to visit her. I truly cannot recommend Lullia and Happy Hippos enough.
