From the very beginning, Robin has been kind, professional, responsive, and genuinely supportive. What stands out to me most is that she actually takes the time to get to understand what you're looking for, and find opportunities that are a good fit rather than simply trying to place you anywhere. She listens to your preferences, your experience, your goals, and what is important to you when it comes to finding the right family. I have worked with other people and organizations where finding work can feel very impersonal, but that has never been my experience with Robin. She makes you feel like she actually cares about how things work out for you. She has been incredibly helpful throughout the entire process, and I always feel comfortable reaching out when I have questions or need guidance. Her communication is wonderful, and she has consistently been quick to respond, helpful, and reassuring. I also really appreciate how much she advocates for the nannies she works with. It is clear that she wants both the families and the nannies to have a positive experience, and she puts real effort into making sure the positions are a good match. That makes such a huge difference when you are looking for work that is not only financially worthwhile, but also somewhere you can feel comfortable, respected, and valued. The opportunities this agency has helped me find have been such a blessing, and I am genuinely grateful for the work Robin has put into helping me. She has helped make the process of finding nanny positions feel much less stressful and has given me confidence in knowing that I have someone knowledgeable and supportive in my corner. Robin is truly one of those people who goes above and beyond what you would expect. She is compassionate, reliable, hardworking, and incredibly good at what she does. You can tell that she takes pride in her work and genuinely wants the people she works with to succeed. If you are a nanny looking for work, I would wholeheartedly recommend them and I feel very lucky to have found a who has been so supportive throughout my journey. Thank you, Robin, for everything you do and for all of the opportunities and support you have given me. I truly appreciate you

We had a very disappointing experience with this nanny agency. The business practices felt…read moreextremely unprofessional from the start -- we were never asked to sign a clear agreement outlining fees, guarantees, or policies before the search began. Terms discussed verbally (including a 6-month guarantee and a placement fee equivalent to 6 weeks of the nanny's pay) did not match the contract posted online, which stated no guarantees/refunds and a different fee structure for part-time placements. Communication was rushed and disorganized, consisting mostly of hastily written emails with little clarity around timelines, process, or next steps. Candidate quality was also highly questionable and often far outside the criteria we provided. One candidate was a no-show to the interview and had full voicemail/email inboxes with extremely poor communication. Another lived 1.5 hours away each direction in traffic, making the role unrealistic. Another openly described wanting "something easy" after being out of work and had no meaningful nanny experience. Out of four candidates, only one was a strong fit. When I raised concerns about inconsistencies between the verbal terms and the online contract, instead of discussing it professionally over the phone as requested, the agency responded with multiple hostile emails accusing me of trying to take advantage of them. I also noticed that many of the agency's positive reviews appear to be written by nannies rather than families who actually paid for placement services, which in hindsight feels somewhat misleading. Ultimately, we found an excellent nanny ourselves through Facebook groups. For the $6k+ fee, the experience was simply not worth the stress and lack of professionalism.

Where do I even start?! Happy Hippos DC, run by Iuliia, is the best place I have ever sent my child…read moreand probably ever will. If you are looking for a daycare where your child will feel at home, truly loved, and completely cared for, this is it. My daughter started here just after turning one, and now that she's approaching two, I can't even begin to explain how much Iuliia has positively influenced her life. My daughter has learned to share, clean up her toys, and listen to directions (she's still a toddler!). Most importantly, she has become kind and gentle with others. I truly believe that comes from the example Iuliia sets every single day. And my daughter is not the easiest child, she has very strong opinions about everything: how she sleeps, what she eats, playtime... everything. Iuliia accommodated all of her needs and made her feel completely at home. There was never a moment where I worried about her while she was there. Quite the opposite! I always knew she was having an amazing time playing with the other kids, doing crafts, and enjoying homemade organic meals like soups and oatmeal. The environment is another huge plus. The play areas, living room, nap spaces, bedrooms, and outdoor space are all incredibly clean and well cared for. That was very important to me, and it gave me peace of mind knowing she was in a healthy, safe space. Iuliia is also incredibly flexible and understanding. She was accommodating with schedule changes, makeup days after vacations, and even extra days when needed (with notice). When my daughter got very sick with a high fever during a trip and ended up in the hospital, Iuliia checked in on us every single day just out of genuine care and kindness. That meant so much to our family. If you are looking for a daycare that feels like home, is safe, clean, and above all filled with kindness, look no further than Happy Hippos DC.

We had previously been at another daycare that we liked, but when we found Lullia right in our neighborhood, we were so excited. Being able to walk him to daycare is such a bonus, but what has meant the most to me is how completely comfortable I feel leaving him in Lullia's care. As a working mom, and now a mom of two, knowing that he is somewhere safe, loved, happy, and incredibly well cared for has been priceless. You can genuinely see how much Lullia loves and cares about the kids. Our son absolutely loves going to her house, playing with his friends, making pancakes, dressing up, doing art projects, and playing outside in her beautiful, safe backyard. He comes home with a new art project almost every day and is always excited to tell us about what they did. Her home and daycare setup are also exceptionally clean, organized, and filled with fun activities for the kids. Our son is getting ready to start preschool, and even though we know he is ready for this next step, I am honestly heartbroken that he won't be going to Lullia's every week anymore. She has been such a wonderful part of his early childhood, and we hope he can still come back to visit her. I truly cannot recommend Lullia and Happy Hippos enough. Finding someone you trust completely with your child is such a gift, and we are so grateful we found her. We love her so much that we're already hoping to send our baby daughter to Lullia when I return to work.

He had only ever been with me (mom) or a nanny, and it was a tough transition for him. Mr. Edgar and Ms. Julie did everything they could to ease things for us. They made sure our son felt secure, let him stay by their side but slowly encouraged his independence and social skills, communicated with us daily about his progress, and celebrated his little successes. After a few weeks, our son started to really look forward to seeing his beloved caretakers and friends each day. Mr. Edgar and Ms. Julie have created something that is more than just a daycare. They have a wonderfully structured program that includes daily lessons and projects, outside time, story time, rest time, meals and snacks, and more. The food they serve is simple, nutritious, and much appreciated by both kids and parents. They are incredibly detail oriented, organized, and communicative... I'm never left wondering what's happening during the day or what activities/events are coming up. They also encourage community. They coordinate and host social events and family gathering for the daycare families because they love their families that much. Contact them if you're interested in daycare for your child. As a full-time working mom of a toddler and pregnant with her second, I have to be very efficient with my time. Before answering basic questions regarding availability and cost, Elianna wanted to schedule a virtual tour. I had already done the vetting I was comfortable with to scheduling a tour, but was unable to find information regarding cost. So naturally, I first wanted to know if she was going to be the right fit both financially and with the timing of when we needed care to start. The message I received back was a big red flag and frankly, offensive. Here is our full conversation if anyone is interested in what you'll get when reaching out Elianna with questions. Elianna C. - "I need more info ? start date? Age ? How many days ? Pick Up dropping off" Me - "Hi there, I am currently pregnant (due in October). My husband and I are looking for child care starting in January 2025 when the baby is roughly 3 months old. I anticipate needing Full Time care, but could probably make do with Part Time care for a bit. What is your availability in January 2025 for a 3 month old? What is the cost for Part Time and Full Time care? Thank you! Best, Nadia" Elianna C. - "Hi there I would like to do a virtual tour this week if possible and talk about your questions. Please let me know what days work for you two . After 5pm" Me - "Hi there, Thank you for the invitation to do a virtual tour. We'd love to schedule something, however, first, we're really looking to see if you'll have availability in January and what the tuition will be. Is that something that you can share with me prior to a virtual tour? Best, Nadia" Elianna C. - "No I don't share a price unless we meet either virtual or in person because you want to see what a program has to offer and you want to compare quality for you child. If I am responding back it's because the availability is there . Or I would Of said there is a wait list but yes if price is your priority then this may not be the right progr for you . I would recommend looking at a place and see if it's a fit all the way around . The quality of care meet the person or staff that will be with your. Child that is very important. Thanks" Me - "Thank you for your time. I think you're right, Tender Loving Preschool Childcare does not sound like the right fit for our family. We value transparency and communication when considering childcare options for the most vulnerable member of our family and it sounds like that is something we would struggle with at your center. I wish you the best. - Nadia" Elianna C. - "Thank you"

This is how I know that this is a warm and safe place for my son to learn and grow with people who care about him every day. What I love most about this school is that your child benefits from being with the other older children at a young age. Ms Ellie provides an amazing curriculum throughout the year focusing on academics as well as motor and social/emotional skills. The kids are learning so much every day. She is an excellent communicator and I always know how my son's day went, what he did, what he ate, and if there are any issues she is proactive in communicating them and we speak easily over text and the phone when needed. The food is amazing, and she makes it fresh every day. In addition to Ms Ellie she has amazing family and team members who provide consistent and loving care to the children. Ms Ellie's school is a true gem. Home based daycare can span a wide range of quality, but we are so grateful to have this school for our son where he is thriving. As much as it is hard to be a working parent who can't be with your child all day, having a partner like Ms Ellie and her whole team makes all the difference!

You'd be surprised how many come up with one violation or another. Nanny's house was violation free. I interviewed with Nanny (Marta) at her old location. There was instant chemistry. She has this organic and warm feel about her exuding positive energy. She has such a love for children and animals. She has a small and super sweet dog and maintains chickens in a chicken coop feeding the children fresh and organic eggs in the morning. There was a wait list but we made it through as we planned in advance. When we got in, it was like getting into Harvard... our first choice school! When I was at the hospital after giving birth, she sent a sweet care package of flowers, a balloon and a teddy bear for our little girl. Such a nice touch! What school does that? Our daughter spent all years leading up to kindergarten there, even into the pandemic. She worked so hard to keep everyone safe and healthy. It was a crazy time, but always her mind was on how can she protect the children. She was open to feedback and worked to customize her program to meet families on preferences. She has a life sciences program that's outstanding. The kids not only learn all the fundamentals in the classroom, but the learn to garden, they learn about life cycles, they learn cooking (supervised of course). Most importantly they learn how to manage emotions and social interactions. We also had our son join Nanny's House when our daughter was 3 years old. He also joined at 3 months of age. The infant program has a maximum of 4 babies in it all 3 months to 1 year 11 months. With the location being her home, it doesn't have an institutional style feel. I live nearby and as he was a baby during pre-covid, I was allowed to come by to nurse in person when I needed to. The family get togethers were some of my favorite memories at Nanny's house and I still stay in touch with the other families to this day. Halloween and her Christmas holiday party were a blast, along with a formal graduation celebration. One thing I helped Nanny's house bring into the program is a mobile app called Kidz Note that updates the families on what is going on each day in the classroom or infant room. She provides photos each day and often videos. Her reports let's you know what's going on with eating or and if there are any boo boo reports. It also allows for parent-teacher communication. We treasure our memories at Nanny's House. Our daughter still talks about Nanny's House to this day and wants to visit soon. For anyone who is looking for a very personal full time daycare and preschool experience with long hours 7:30a - 6p with all meals covered, this one's for you!
