We had a very disappointing experience with this nanny agency. The business practices felt extremely unprofessional from the start -- we were never asked to sign a clear agreement outlining fees, guarantees, or policies before the search began. Terms discussed verbally (including a 6-month guarantee and a placement fee equivalent to 6 weeks of the nanny's pay) did not match the contract posted online, which stated no guarantees/refunds and a different fee structure for part-time placements. Communication was rushed and disorganized, consisting mostly of hastily written emails with little clarity around timelines, process, or next steps. Candidate quality was also highly questionable and often far outside the criteria we provided. One candidate was a no-show to the interview and had full voicemail/email inboxes with extremely poor communication. Another lived 1.5 hours away each direction in traffic, making the role unrealistic. Another openly described wanting "something easy" after being out of work and had no meaningful nanny experience. Out of four candidates, only one was a strong fit. When I raised concerns about inconsistencies between the verbal terms and the online contract, instead of discussing it professionally over the phone as requested, the agency responded with multiple hostile emails accusing me of trying to take advantage of them. I also noticed that many of the agency's positive reviews appear to be written by nannies rather than families who actually paid for placement services, which in hindsight feels somewhat misleading. Ultimately, we found an excellent nanny ourselves through Facebook groups. For the $6k+ fee, the experience was simply not worth the stress and lack of professionalism. read more

Being a first-time parent in the age of COVID19... We made an early decision to hire a night nanny/Newborn Care Specialist, since we were first-time parents without easy access to parents or relatives who can provide effective childcare support. We also have concerns over a smooth recovery period after giving birth, which requires sleep and rest for her. As for me, I value sleep too! The first few months for an infant is a critical time, so we wanted some professional help. After talking to several agencies, I decided to go with Robin to help us find a night nanny for 3 months. Robin was responsive to our questions (before and during COVID) and was transparent with her fees. The placement fee for a 3 month contract was very reasonable compared to other agencies. Best of all, she found us the perfect night nanny, G.G. G.G. worked for us 40 hrs/week on weekdays and did all the usual night nanny duties of feeding, burping, changing, cleaning, etc. while we were able to get uninterrupted sleep. G.G. managed to get our son (now 3 months old) able to sleep through the night, 6pm to 7:30am. Yes, you can learn to feed and burp a baby while he's half asleep! A good night nanny also serves as a friend and mentor - we learned so much childcare tips from G.G. that there is hope we can be decent parents, LOL! Although she works only at night for us, G.G. gives great suggestions for daytime care, what baby supplies to buy, feeding schedules, and suggested play activities. Hiring a nanny is risky during COVID19, but not having adequate child care (we are amateurs!) and not getting sufficient time to recover is also risky to our health. I would give zero stars, if I could. DO NOT USE the nanny agency Nanny Connection or work with its owner Robin LeGrand.  They didn't refund the fee we paid after the nanny they placed for us didn't show up for work after coming for less than three weeks. The nanny was a flat out no show on a Monday morning. Gave zero notice. Of the three weeks she was with us, she only came half the time because she was out sick -  we even paid this nanny during her sick days. Nanny Connection/Robin LeGrand say they don't give any refunds. So they are penalizing me - their client - for this nanny's irresponsibility even though we have not hired a nanny successfully using their agency.  I'm literally paying for someone else's actions and coming out of it without childcare from this agency. But, if you'd like to: 1) Pay a hefty finder's fee 2) Get an unprofessional nanny 3) Have her quit with no notice, and 4) Not be provided a refund Then, hire Nanny Connection and work with its owner Robin LeGrand - who by the way has ZERO accountability and is unresponsive after several attempts at trying to come to an understanding. This image keeps my heart full as I depart for my commute, relaxed in knowing that she is getting a full dose of love and attention from a person I trust completely in my absence. Making the decision to return to work was not an easy one, but, once it was decided, Robin from A Nanny Connection made finding the right caregiver a pain-free experience. My family was not in a position to pay at the top of the pay grade, but Robin was still able to send us several candidates with a wide range of skills and experience. There is an art to this match-making process, and Robin is quick, efficient, and supremely responsive. We had a call with her on a Thursday and were able to start interviewing candidates by that weekend. We talked to several, but we ended up hiring the very first one we interviewed, and she has been a truly wonderful addition to our household. As first-timers, we had tons of questions about best practices, and Robin was always prompt in getting back to us with direct responses or the appropriate resources to get those answers. WARNING- DON'T USE THIS SERVICE. Their integrity is questionable at best. DO NOT TRUST THIS WOMAN WITH YOUR CHILDREN We were in need of a nanny and reached out to her. She was super responsive which impressed us. However we started noticing some alarming issues that called her ethics and integrity into question. She will send you misleading background check documents that you think you're hiring someone meeting your standards when it couldnt be further from the truth. She manipulated info. RUN! 1.) We clearly set out expectations that we didn't want to interview anyone without a clean driving record. Part of the exorbitantly expensive fee (and yes its outrageously expensive) she charges is to ensure all Nannys are pre-screened for the basics(clean driving record, criminal background checks etc.) She recommended a nanny who she claimed had a clean record and checked all our boxes. She sends us all the prior family referrals and their driving records which seem to meet our expectations. We interview the nanny and she tells us that she had a stop sign violation in the past few months. We thought that's not good but at least she was honest. But then we were confused how that didn't show up on the driving background check sent to us by Robyn prior to the meeting. Checked again and noticed she sent us records from 2-3 years back however they're supposed to have records from no later than 6 months prior. We tell her you sent old records, she then sends the up to date ones. What's really alarming is those records showed the nanny recently had a use of cell phone driving violation in the last 12 months. Nanny didn't mention that to us and neither did Robyn. Had she sent the correct version and not said anything, we would maybe think that was just an oversight (which is still unacceptable when you're trusting your child in this person's hands) but not nefarious. The fact that the correct one showed a serious violation that she knew was a deal breaker for us and either didn't vet it or tried to mislead us really freaked us out but sadly it got worse. 2.) We noticed that the referral letters dates didn't match the fax dates at the bottom of the letter. Like the date of the referral would be 2015-2018 but the fax date that gets automatically printed at the bottom of faxes documents would have a date in the past like 2010-2012. How can a review from 2018 have a fax date of almost a decade in the past? Also all the referrals sounds very much as if the same person was writing them (same type of articulation of thoughts etc.). We asked her about that and then she reveals that those were HER WORDS & SHE WAS THE ONE WRITING THOSE REFERRALS based on her interpretation of the feedback she was getting from the prior families. Im not sure how that's legal especially if you are not disclosing that to the families upfront before sending the "referrals". This was the straw that broke the camels back for us. 3.) Serious conflicts of interests as she charges a percentage of the nanny's annual salary so she is financially motivated to get the most expensive Nanny as it nets her a higher commission. She was sending us Nannies that were substantially more expensive than all our friends were paying and what the market research we pulled showed. Ultimately we went our own way and sure enough found that her Nanny's were far more expensive and didn't even check the boxes in most cases. I struggled with being so candid about this review but by not being transparent, this could put other families and their children in harms way and that is not something I can sleep with knowing even if the owner can. She was very responsive and seemed professional but sadly, she lacked integrity and ethics which negates all benefits of other positive traits when she has such a mission critical role in children's safety. I used Robin twice and I am 50-50 hence the three star rating. The first time I used her was for a FT position-she found me a great candidate who I used until my daughter started school. The second time I needed FT temporary (for two months). I found a candidate I liked-worked with her for a week on a "working interview" and on my first two days back to work after maternity leave she called in sick. When she showed up for work later that week she was late everyday and asked to change her hours. My husband also got nervous when she took my daughter to the park and wouldn't answer her phone after being asked to return home in a half hour and not showing up. We decided that we needed to find someone else-after meeting another person (keep in mind I was in a bind b/c I was ALREADY back to work) and not liking her Robin lost her patience with me over the phone-making me feel like I was being too picky. She was starting to give up b/c my position was "only temporary". When we ultimately found someone she showed up to work with a hacking phlegmy cough and insisted it was her asthma. I had to send her home b/c she was feeding my 3 month old and hacking in her face. My daugher woke up a day later with bronchiolitis and had to be put on a nebulizer. I told the nanny not to come back to work-I thought that this nanny acted irresponsibly by showing up to work in her condition.....ultimately after reporting all of this back to Robin I got a "sorry, bad luck" response. I contacted Nanny Connection (Robin) when I was pregnant with my first child because we knew we wanted to hire a nanny for our baby. She responded promptly and went through the process and fees. However, while I was on maternity leave, I decided to post on the Care (dot com) website. I spoke to and interviewed about 15-20 nannies from Care. I even conducted background checks and did "practice days" with a few nannies. Not one of the nannies were of a high caliber and I didn't feel safe at all leaving my 3 month old baby with any of them. So, I sought Nanny Connection out again after not having ANY luck with Care website or Sittercity. I had emailed her the night before and by morning, she had sent me about 4-5 nannies who were searching for jobs and could accommodate my work schedule. She also sent over the entire application packet, which includes a 10 year plus employment history, their Driving Record, several refererences from past employers, Trustline Registry certification and other miscallenous information about the prospective Nanny. She also offers to schedule the interviews for you, but I chose to reach out to the nannies myself. Each Nanny had a lot of experience caring for various ages of children and a long history of nurturing and developing young minds. We chose a nanny and we could not be happier. She is wonderful and really spends time with my baby doing various activities to build both his physical and mental side. Even though Robin is not the actual person providing care for my child, she sent over high-quality candidates who can be trusted with your child. I had contacted other agencies, as well. Their fees were much higher than Robin's and they certainly didn't have a "can do" attitude. When I told those other agencies that I needed a part-time nanny and provided them the specific days/times, they basically told me they couldn't find anybody to meet my needs. Robin never once indicated to me that she was unable to accommodate my schedule. Finally, Robin is very responsive over emails and phone calls. She also will accommodate you if you have special requests. Nanny Connection obviously charges a fee, but in comparison to other agencies, Robin's fees are the least expensive PLUS you are getting exceptional service. Even though there is a fee associated with Nanny Connection, it was worth every penny! read more

I've only ever had one nanny. She was horrible but honestly, I felt scared about firing her because I didn't trust anyone else. I even signed up for Care.com and interviewed people. I thought I had found someone wonderful! She was wonderful! She was kind and caring and on time!I hired her while my nanny was in Mexico for vacation hoping to replace her. But on the third day, she decided she no longer wanted to work past 4:30pm. "My husband wants me home by 5pm.". Okay. NEXT! I kept my very strict and unfriendly nanny. When she wasn't bossing me around, she was passive aggressive. Things finally came to a head when I came home unexpectedly early and found her SCREAMING at my kids. I fired her on the spot. How could I have left my kids with someone who was breaking their spirit? I cried for two days of a broken heart for my little munchkins. (They're totally fine and resilient). But my kids NEVER told me that she was yelling at them like that. I called Nanny Connection and Robin came to my rescue. I'm not kidding. I found a nanny whom we all ADORE! it's like a dream. I'm in a dream. She plays with my kids, does the laundry, and I come home to a clean, peaceful home every night. Robin's fee is an assurance that the person in your home, helping you raise your children has an on going FBI background check done on them. DO NOT hesitate. It's a small price to pay. When it comes to your most precious commodities remember five words. Pay them what they want. read more
