The simple act of keeping a creep out of a bar is more than 90% of bars in America, but I am thankful the staff and in particular the bouncer cares about peoples safety. They are tolerant, but when someone's behavior is egregious and obviously dangerous or disruptive they intervene quickly and respectfully. The OP's regulars are some of the most charming and compassionate people you will find in Burlington. The bar is often full of artists, musicians, and people you will get along with if you're the creative type. The drinks are cheap, the staff is caring and most importantly this bar cares about people first. If you want to go somewhere where being a predator is chill, go somewhere else. There are a lot of things that I like about Orlando's when compared to other local bars…read more 1. Their mixed drinks are made consistently well. Many bars in the area pour especially strong or especially weak drinks that are not consistent, and that can make it hard to keep track of how much you're drinking. At Orlando's, the strength of my mixed drinks remains the same each time. The bartenders are professional, knowledgeable, and swift. 2. Their cocktail offerings are fun! They do some unique offerings with fun seasonal stuff that really gets you in the spirit of the season. Some other reviews mention that they don't have an extensive wine list-- it's not really that type of place. It's sort of like a classy pub, not a high end hotel bar. Expect to find cool cocktails and a moderate beer selection. 3. The vibes are cool! It's very speakeasy-underground-cool vibes. It's dark inside with old fashioned lamps and various types of seating, both at the bar and at tables. Some tables have old fashioned bar games at them like ring and hook. They have a stage for live music and a small space for dancing. I will say the one downside of Orlando's is that when they're doing music, either live or over speakers, it's so loud that it's hard to be social there.

Incredible, kind, thoughtful - best in the business!…read more We hired The 126 as the bartenders for our wedding - if you are looking for a similar service, look no more. Karen and her team were incredible, providing exceptional service leading up to and including the day of the wedding. The signature cocktail menu they created was delicious, fun, unique, and memorable - managing to somehow mirror each drink with a non-alcoholic version to accommodate our sober selves, friends, and family. We still are getting feedback on just how wonderful the drinks were. Side note, every single bartender Karen brought with her, was so kind to me, had lovely things to say, chatted, joked, and just overall created such a good vibe, that the party wouldn't have been the same without them. We've gone to this bar for years because of the great mocktail service, and it was so wonderful to have them at our wedding, providing the same great service they have for years. Affordable, exceptional, and memorable will be the keywords sticking in your mind when you work with them!

The drinks are expertly crafted (with or without alcohol), the jazz is smooth and never too loud, and the vintage lounge atmosphere makes it perfect for a date or a quiet night out. $4.75 for two beers? Yes, please!…read more Meron's is the standby bar for my circle of friends back in the 518. It's dependable, it's low-key, it has that charming small-town unpretentious air about it, and it's extremely reasonably priced. The bar looks like something that one would find in a suburban basement. There are lots of little random knick-knacks: nesting dolls, a Red Sox banner (and here I thought that in upstate NY everyone was a Yankees fan by default--who knew?), etc. There's even a cat! Don't expect to find Magic Hat, Saranac, or any fancy-schmancy brews here. Lawnmower beers on tap rule the roost, with the occasional "exotic" choices like Yuengling or Amstel thrown in for variety. Oh, and Plattsburgh is Labatt-town, through and through. Meron's is also a restaurant, so that probably accounts for the homey feel of the place. There's a good sized "dining room" area with some pool tables and dartboards, if that's your thang. When my friends and I went, there were about 3 other people in the bar, all of whom were preoccupied with playing pool. Then again, it was a Tuesday night during the summer break. It's almost unheard-of to go out for a drink under such circumstances 'round those parts. However, the speakers were absolutely blaring, which I found totally unnecessary, given the dearth of patrons that night. My friends and I had a hard time keeping up a conversation over the roar of "Crash Into Me". I'm no expert, since I went here on a weeknight during a time of year when most of the college-aged guys are out of town, but it was refreshing and relaxing to be there simply having a drink with two of my oldest friends. No meat market or skeezy patrons to be found here. However, my friends tell me that on another of their trips to Meron's, they were approached and propositioned by a scraggly fellow and his wheelchair-bound friend. Apparently I have horrible timing when it comes to planning my trips home.
