Admittedly, it took us each a couple dozen times to finally accurately land an axe on target...but the feeling once you land it is awesome. ***I'm adding additional details to this based on the owners response. This couldn't be farther from the truth. My husband went to the bathroom once and there were no customers throwing axes. The second time he's goes to the bathroom, he passed thru two people that were switching from throwing axes. All axes remain in the cage when trading places. My husband walked 5ft before hearing "motherfucke*** walk back here and around the table." The fact that you are the owner and don't acknowledge that behavior of your employee and instead respond in a way of spinning this to a safety issue couldn't be further from the truth. Skylar then proceeded to come over and yell at everyone else in our group and made a massive scene. For you to think that we would want to stay in this environment is insane (you weren't there John) and before you lie online, you should get all the facts. I feel bad for the other employee because she was amazing. But for any owner of any company to be ok with their employees cursing at a customer is being insane. I can not believe the awful, rude, condescending way Skylar talked to us. She called my husband a motherfucker because he walked in front of an area he wasn't supposed to. Apparently she was not allowed to represent my kids or our family as Skylar demanded I be there (sister is on the waivers too and is grown ass adult) even though I was trying to get drinks for everyone in our party (kids included). Then she proceeded to reprimand/shame me for ordering drinks and not being with my son (even though he's sat through the safety several times before & my sister is also his other LEGAL guardian & she was sitting next to him). She yelled this at me btw. Who is a manager of an establishment YELLING at their patrons?? I decided to NOT purchase any drinks or have ppl meet us here. After a couple of trips to bend we decided to finally check this spot out! So glad we did... who knew axe throwing was so much fun?! Nick was our guy who helped us out from start to finish and we were so pleased by how attentive he was with us in making sure we were comfortable, had our techniques down, and providing tips throughout. After a few attempts finally got the hang of it... became pretty addicting that my gf and i plan on checking an axe throwing place here close by home lol. The space itself is pretty big and plenty of space to accommodate multiple parties at a time. They serve beer, wine, and bar bites.. since we planned on grabbing food after we just grabbed a few beers. If you re into ax throwing or acting out your aggression this is a safe place to do it. Safety is their first concern even though you can Drink and axe throw at the same time:) Before the group begins there is a safety instruction and tips from the Managment. They also coach from time to time to make your session successful. We had a lot of fun throwing axes and even though there were not a lot of Bulleye's we still managed to make the axe stick. This is harder than it looks and certainly takes some concentration and practice to even hit the wood near the target. Some in our group were naturals. Everyone who will participate in axe throwing need to input their information and sign documents waivers before you are shown to your area which includes a table and a section with 2 different sizes of axes you can use. They rent it by the hour and you can order food and drinks from the counter and bring it to your area to eat and drink, only there you are allowed to remove your mask. We were told not to order hamburgers because the was just one cook, so pizzas were our only option. They were inedible. There was no one on the floor to take drink orders. A quick Yelp search of entertainment in Bend lead me here and it did not disappoint. For a mere $25 you get a quick lesson on how to throw and cage for yourself and your friends with 2 targets and a variety of axes. I'll start off with saying the environment was great and we were having a great time. However, the manager Skyler was the absolute worst. She started off by being extremely condescending and rude to our group. I understand it's an axe throwing business and we need to be safe, one of our friends did cross an area he was not supposed to; instead of giving us a warning, she started screaming at us all calling us motherfuckers and threatening to 86 us. Our friend was in the wrong, but our group was fun and sober and calling us motherfuckers was absolutely inappropriate and not professional. I do recommend this place as a fun activity with friends. I have been to a lot of ax, throwing places, however, I did not enjoy this one. I did go for a special night where it was black light however, that has no effect on this review. When we went in it was business as usual however, once we got to Arlene, I could tell something was different here. It looks like they don't change out the targets at all as you can see in the photos it was very difficult for the axes to stick as there was so much wood missing from the targets as you can see at the bottom of the targets. There's a lot of wood sitting there and I can't believe that's from one day but it might be. Either way the lanes are not taken care of the drinks are expensive but the people are nice. Would I go here again? Maybe. It's not like you have a lot of options in Bend Oregon for extern. However, if there is another option, I would love to try it. read more

As everyone else has already said...this place is FUN! Let's say it simply, COVID sucks, the pandemic and limitations suck (albeit necessary) and sometimes throwing stuff just makes us feel better. This is a controlled environment where you won't have to replace walls...or windows...or whatever other debauchery might happen on accident somewhere else. The staff are super helpful and don't make you feel dumb if you found the one place the 100 people before you didn't hit (and weren't supposed too). We had no expectations going in to U.L Co. for the first time. We had so much fun! The staff were friendly and made sure that we knew what we were doing before we even picked up an ax. A party of ten of us went for 90 minutes on a Wednesday night. Felt safe with distance between groups and masks. After the intro on how to throw an axe and the rules our group had a fun time. Each cage has two boards to throw, and a choice of two axes per person. A small one which my wife preferred or a larger one. By the time we were done all the throwing cages were in use. Since we had a 7:00 reservation we had not eaten. They do have food such as bar appetizers or sandwiches. We got the fried avocado with a romoulade sauce and artichoke and spinach dip with chips. The fried avocado were creamy with a battered coating. The artichoke dip had a lot of artichokes and was creamy with cheese. We also tried the cheese curds. They had about 18 beer choices on tap. Had a brief group tutorial with a few other folks on the do's and don'ts of ax throwing, then we got to throwing! Terrible employees. I had a disagreement with the manager about the costs of throwing axes within a group plan. The manager got upset and told me not to worry about it. I left and went to another bar with friends. The employees from this bar ended up there was well. The dreadlocks one decided to berate me at the bar and take my picture, saying I was 86'd. I left that bar to go home to find another employee openly berating me, when I engaged with that employee, he decided he wanted to attack me. I was able to fend myself off to get jumped by another employee or friend, which lead to him breaking my nose. If this is the type of people they employ, go to the woods to throw axes -- we have plenty of that. read more

We had a great time here, we came in October and they were able to get us in and they made sure to let us know about the expectations from us as patrons. We needed to maintain the social distance. This was our first time there. Perfect atmosphere for an evening out with friends for cold beer and little friendly competition. The floor staff was friendly and helpful. The instructions and tips for throwing were all spot on! Our food was good although, the cranky cook didn't want to slice and cook peppers and onions for one member of our party. The young man who brought our food was very polite about it, however, one could sense his frustration with the cook as well. We ran a tab with a card but chose to pay cash and realized the next day they still charged the card. A phone call was all it took and they resolved it promptly after checking their records.
