Being an Alumni, my husband loves coming to the UNLV bookstore when we come to Vegas. So much great merchandise. Amazing selection. But man, the prices here are HIGH. Terrible service from the UNLV Bookstore. Terrible service due to terrible employees. Employees should be more thoroughly trained in customer service since it seems many of the more recently hired kids lack a total sense of courtesy and respect. The Human Resources Department should definitely do a better job at selecting more appropriate applicants, and once hired, monitor their employees and provide the necessary training when the newly hired employees behave in an unruly manner. Customer service is essential in a customer service role, and rude employees unfortunately cause a great deal of detriment to a company or organization. read more

Only giving 4 stars due to unreasonable store hours. I used this bookstore for my undergrad and also my masters. The rental process my best advice is to reserve your books ASAP. Because if you do it too late you might not get the rental price due to availability. This place has all the UNLV runnin rebel merch you could ever want! I always leave with something extra lol My last experience here my book return was painless and I bought my hood for graduation ($54 a shame lol) Anyways it was really inconvenient as I get off work at 4:30 and by the time I drive there, park, and walk to get my requirements for graduation, they close at 5. They are open Saturday 11-3 pm so I had to make a separate trip. Either than that everyone who works there is so nice and helpful. Thank you UNLV bookstore I'll miss this place! read more

The UNLV bookstore has always been one of the best spots on campus! Since Barns and Noble took over operations about a decade ago they have done a phenomenal job! The bookstore represents the school well. The store is kept sparkling clean, and UNLV pride shines bright in here with scarlet and grey from wall to wall. You can go here for any clothing needs and they also carry cell phone chargers and personal hygiene products which is super helpful if you are living on campus. The only thing that I dislike is how high the prices are! You can easily pay over $60 for a sweatshirt. So look out for sale days, those are the best days to buy things. Look at the clearance racks in the back for deals also! :) read more

At the beginning of the semester, expect lots of chaos. They've also ran out of textbooks which makes going to school quite pointless especially if the textbook has an access code for your class. I haven't had that problem but I know half of my class had that issue this semester. I come here to get scantrons but somehow leave with Rebel gear, notebooks I don't use, water bottles (like I need more), etc. You can actually get scantrons for free at Student Union and the library...I guess, I just like looking at new UNLV shirts and gym outfits. They have a sale every now and then. The people that work here are mostly students. Some are super nice and some are just...there. Textbooks, school supplies, gym outfits, Rebel gear, game paraphernalia, snacks, phone and laptop accessories. But you won't find a laser pointer here. I already tried. read more

The University Bookstore is useful when you need something ASAP while on campus, but it'll cost ya. Everything in the store is expensive (a less than stellar UNLV shirt on the clearance rack is still at least $20). I learned long ago that buying online at Amazon.com or another online retailer for textbooks will save you loads of money vs. buying at your local college bookstore. The one time I scored a deal here was when leftover 2015 Calendars were only $2 in May. Yes, you can buy Scantrons at the bookstore for I believe $0.99, but if you're smart you'll just walk over to the Student Union and get some for free (2 max per person, let's not get greedy)! Caps and gowns are sold by the bookstore, which will run you about $50. Return polices are strict. I once attempted to buy a book here and was told if I walked out the door, I couldn't get a refund of any kind. My dilemma was that I was unsure if the text in question was the right book for a class. I come to the UNLV bookstore every semester to buy books. I don't want to buy books, yet there I am... I can't fault the bookstore, though, for gouging my with prices when they're only slightly more expensive than Rebel Books across the street. I sometimes come here when I have free time to buy UNLV stuff. Sweaters, shirts, coffee mugs, pens... all that. Plus, I sometimes come here when I realize that I've left my calculator at home and need one for a test that's coming up in eight minutes. Sure, I'll pay $13 for something that's $6 at Target, but I have a test in eight minutes! All in all, this place is cool. They also sell other books in their Barnes-subsidized section, so that's cool. So you can get a copy of Pride and Prejudice for $9 to go along with your $150 statistics book. read more

I love the bookstore on campus because it gives me the option to pick up all of my textbooks in a crunch, or even pick up some last minute supplies I might need before class! Of course the prices of some textbooks can be pretty pricey, but just being able to see your options at the bookstore, or even just the cover of the book can help you while you shop around for the cheapest price. After the first month of the semester it's like a ghost town inside of the bookstore, but during that first month of classes starting everyone is hustling to get their books, so it's a pretty bustin' place! If you can, order your books online and opt for in store pick up because they'll pull your books for you and put them off to the side. Super easy! Along with textbooks the store also offers UNLV merchandise! I like to hit up the clearance racks in the back of the store from time to time to pick up a new UNLV shirt every once in a while. They also offer license plate frames, stickers, mugs, diploma frames, and even UNLV themed dog collars! The employees here are usually super nice and helpful, even during their busiest season! If you call, they also answer all of your questions over the phone too! I'm so grateful to have the UNLV Bookstore! read more

I used to come here before I discovered ISBN numbers and Bigwords.com. Like most incoming freshmen I got ripped off plenty of times by the University Bookstore. Paying $100+ for a English or Biology book only to be offered $30 at the end of the semester for "buyback" sucked. Fortunately most students have come to learn that you can just copy down the ISBN and buy it for pennies on the dollar online. While this can be said pretty much about any of the textbook stores that service UNLV, the on-campus bookstore does have a few perks that set it apart. This bookstore is the only one that offers supplemental packets you need for some of your classes. The packets are printed on campus and only sold here. You can't get them at Rebelbooks and thankfully they are usually inexpensive. The store also has a ton of UNLV swag and a portion of their sales are donated back to the university. Expect long lines and tons of people during the beginning of the semester. Overall its a notch better than the other bookstores but you are still much better off buying online. read more

Went to the UNLV bookstore today as we just landed from out of town. The experience was okay. The girl working up front seemed very nice and there was another guy working who didn't seem to want anything to do with human interaction. The selection was meh. In the sports t-shirt section, they had out on display some of the sports, and didn't have one shirt in three major sports in baseball, football, and basketball. They only had tennis, soccer, and softball. The pricing at the store was super ridiculous. I get it that things may be steep if you're buying them on campus but some of the price tags were true head scratchers. read more

The University Bookstore has lots of selection of textbooks and school merchandise. Located inside UNLV Main Campus next to the Student Union. They sell from clothes, school supplies, snacks, drinks, books, and all related school stuff. I like how they don't charge tax on textbook but the rental and retail price of textbooks here is EXPENSIVE! I usually order textbooks online and pick up in store. If they don't have the textbook you are looking for, they will let you know and back order it for you which is convenient. I RECOMMEND TO ALWAYS ORDER ONLINE INSTEAD OF WAITING IN LINE TO PAY, it will save your time. read more

I went to the bookstore for the first time in my three years at Unlv to get my books. I will say finding the books was easy as well as renting them. I got used books and when you rent them they fill out a paper that states what was wrong with the book to begin with. I went to return my books and had to pay for water damage that was already there. When I asked for the paper they filled out at the beginning of the semester I was ignored twice. I won't be coming back to get books here because Beat the Bookstore across the street handles their rentals a lot better. They give you a copy of the list of things that was already wrong with used book to begin with so that you're not paying for things that you didn't do. read more

The University bookstore is what you totally expect it to be, expensive! It is extremely busy during the first couple weeks of each semester, so be prepared. You can do most of your shopping online and have it to be picked up later on. The lines are long but it usually moves quickly. The staff are really helpful for the most part. I have had instances where I have asked my boyfriend to pick up my textbooks for me and I gave him my ID and the confirmation email, yet the girl refused to give him. I would be fine with this but when I went to pick up my books after they refused to give it to my boyfriend, the girl in front of me got her books and said, "oh i got to pick up my boyfriend's books too." And they just gave it to her with no problem. I was really frustrated by this, but oh well. They should have some sort of consistency. Anyways, the university bookstore will have all the UNLV versions of the textbook otherwise, I suggest using amazon to save money. read more

This is my go-to for the convenience of being directly on campus. The sales reps are always nice and the store is kept clean. The variety of ways to get textbooks is also appreciated. My 1 star rating is for after having driven all the way down to the bookstore from the outskirts of town and having had to pay for parking, I was not permitted to swap my brand new sweatshirt for one a size larger. I was told that I needed a receipt. The sweatshirt still has the price tag attached. All they needed to do was scan it into their system to see that it did indeed come from their inventory. For those of you making purchases, make sure you keep the receipt. read more
