I was able to email him, and he actually emailed back in less than an hour, understood that was my only communication, and let me know his timetable of arrival. Once he arrived, he was very reassuring, as I am a mobile, but physically disabled person, and explained everything he was going to do. Including extracting the broken end of my key and creating a new one from the broken pieces. He then went beyond and oiled the locks on both my house and garage doors, as they were quite hard to unlock. Especially the garage. It's incredible how easy they unbolt now. With the help of an employee at the gas station, we reached out to Lockthesmith UT, LLC. A technician showed up around 30 minutes later and had the door open within 5 minutes. Unfortunately, he didn't quote the price beforehand, and then he charged us $395.50. We didn't know any better and paid the bill, but then we did some research and found that this was 3 - 4 times the going rate. We called the company back as a prospective customer, and they quoted $89 and an additional $39 for emergency service. We then called a manager, and he kept asking if we had called the right company and said they didn't have any record of our service, but we were insistent. We were then called by another person who eventually offered us a $100 refund and a free lockout service. We declined that offer because it was way too low. After others left some poor reviews in our behalf, the company called us to complain about the reviews and offered a $170 dollar refund. We again refused. Later, they sent my sister a picture of her ID and threatened to report her to the credit bureau for bullying the company into giving us a free service. We responded explaining that we are no longer pursuing a refund because our bank has taken care of it. They messaged us again, saying they would report us to our bank and any other involved company. On the plus side, the company did respond quickly and opened our car without any issues except the bill. Make sure to check the other reviews because we are not the only ones who have had issues. If you use their services, be sure to get a quote upfront!
