I was told I needed to prepay for the item which I did, and also paid for a service call of $150.00. The part arrived today and Caesar came back ASAP and began working on reinstalling the new system on the door. Understand that it was quite an ordeal and it took him a lot longer than either of us thought it would. He finished the work and stated that there would be a labor charge for the installation. The part I prepaid seem expensive, but... I agreed, he came back and that price had doubled... After all was said and done the total I paid was $981.88! YIKES! I contacted Emtek and asked them for the MSRP of the product they installed. The MSRP for the unit from the factory is $311! I found online that several suppliers and found the item for $248 .80 MSRP $311.00 Save $62.20 (20% OFF) + FREE SHIPPING at MyKnobs, Inc, 14 Bayville Ave Bayville, NY 11709. When I called Bobs Lock Safe and Key the person said about the price I paid "That Sounds About Right!" So... The service was good, but they are VERY EXPENSIVE! But... Probably I guess they can charge what they want, where else are you going to go....

Luckily, I had my tablet and was able to search for a locksmith and I am VERY grateful that it was Salt Lake Jake's that came up. I was able to email him, and he actually emailed back in less than an hour, understood that was my only communication, and let me know his timetable of arrival. Once he arrived, he was very reassuring, as I am a mobile, but physically disabled person, and explained everything he was going to do. Including extracting the broken end of my key and creating a new one from the broken pieces. He then went beyond and oiled the locks on both my house and garage doors, as they were quite hard to unlock. Especially the garage. It's incredible how easy they unbolt now. Plus, he explained how the narrow part of the key helped weaken it, too. He definitely has a forever customer, now! And I certainly plan on spreading word of mouth!

They told us they'd be there in 15-20 minutes, which sounded fine. Almost 2 hours later, they finally show up. Definitely not a company I'd call again or recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Without even asking me the issue, they quoted me $150. When I asked about the Yelp offer, they stated they couldn't honor the offer on the weekends.. keep in mind there are no restrictions stated in the details. Saggi called me immediately after I spoke to Elite's dispatch. Saggi was polite and indicated he could meet me in about 30 minutes. He asked me about the problem and game me a range, below the original offer from Bob's.. which I respect considering he had to look at the lock. He ended up calling me back apologizing for the short delay and even apologized again when he arrived. He was able to get me back into my storage door in no time and provided a few recommendations how to better secure my door. Saggi is my "go to" going forward and I would highly recommend you call Elite over the others listed.

Unbelievable bait and switch! I actually looked this company up and sent my sister in law the…read morecontact info (I have to stop basing my selections purely on stars). She has a newborn and mistakenly locked her keys in her older model little Mazda WITH THE BABY INSIDE!!!! (simple slim Jim pop lock that would take no more than 10-20 seconds to pop open). Told her that they'd charge anywhere between $40-$50 and it would be quick so she could get the baby out. This guy saw a mother in distress and COMPLETELY took advantage of her and her state of panic. This guy pops the lock in mere seconds, then says she owes him $160, but had to use some specific app to pay him. She said she only had Venmo, so he says, "okay, Venmo me, but now the price is $250, because she couldn't use the app!?!?! You're thinking the same as me, "why didn't she download the app?" Well the stress of having the baby locked inside and the whole experience had her head running in circles, so she just paid him what he demanded. The REAL question is, "why was it even $160 to open something so simple???" This company is 100% pure shady and despicable. As an Elite Yelper, I dislike writing horrible 1-star review, but THIS is a company that I want to make SURE that people read about or think twice before calling. This company truly deserves NEGATIVE stars and I hope they contact me directly so they can refund my sister in law 100%. Many companies would likely have not charged this poor woman at all considering it took less than 10 seconds on a cheapo older car and she was obviously a wreck. Karma will certainly be chasing these D-Bags down.
