Maybe the other locations are better but this location took a long time and didn't accurately duplicate a key simple four disc lock. They did get two stars for at least giving me a refund on the key that didn't work. I seem to recall I used the one on 3900 S and didn't have any issues but I'm not certain and it was years ago. read more

Walked into the store and had a replacement fob from the dealership. When I asked to have it programmed, they said, "there's no guarantees," expecting payment for something that might not work. I told the two guys that it's not an aftermarket fob. I got it from the dealership. That's when the guy quipped, "so what? Have the dealership program it. They'll do it for free!" The staff here at their Sandy location did a great job with my '96 Ford Bronco's door key last month. I've been having problems with the old key(s) refusing to turn in the door's lock cylinder, and the staff here took that as a challenge to get my key working again. After multiple attempts, they ended up looking up the key 'code' using the VIN, and cut me a brand new key that works great in both side doors. They even tried to get my tailgate window key working (which is a separate key from the doors), but no luck there unfortunately. They suggested I bring back just the rear lock cylinder (and save myself $50 if they had to go into the drop-down tailgate and get the lock cylinder out themselves...), so maybe when the weather improves, I'll do just that. Regardless, it's great to have at least one working key to get into the vehicle! Oh, and they also recommended the use of 'Houdini' brand lock lubricant on my Bronco's doors...and on all locks back at the house. They were using it themselves when they were working on my Bronco, so I purchased a bottle. I am now using it everywhere at home...especially on outdoor locks (like my side gate locks, and my 2012 Focus locks...inside and outside...since it sits outside all year long.) Keep up the great work! And I'll be back with the tailgate lock cylinder this coming Spring, 2018! read more

Dropped out replacement key fob to be programmed and keyed. Dan ran into some technical problems with the console and PIN. Took 2 hrs in total and he was finally successful. Didn't want to take my money because of the length of time it took him. Got it done and despite the time it took to complete, very happy with the service!!! read more

My experience was with the Sandy location of Action Locksmith. Went in to have a copy of a 2019 GMC vehicle key made here on recommendation of a local GMC dealer where I had purchased a key blank. The GMC dealer did not have a laser key cutting machine. The guy at Action Locksmith says something like "Just so you know, it's $25 to cut the key and if the key gets eaten by my laser cutting machine, we will not replace it..." I said, "You don't sound very confident in your work." He says, "Oh, I'm confident in my work. I'm just telling you if the cut goes bad, I will not be responsible for your blank key." This guy was just a jerk. Needless to say, I took my blank key and business elsewhere. I remembered there was a Chevy dealer nearby and decided to try them. Their parts department has a laser key cutting machine. They charged me $10 and change to cut my key! Bottom line... stay away from Action Locksmith for auto key cutting! A dealer will do it for less than half the price... and back up their work! read more

I checked before going to this business that they could program my replacement car fob. No problem they said but I had to get there by 5pm. I raced to get there, arriving at 4.50pm. After some time I was told that they couldn't do the job because I needed a pin code for my vehicle. I am not the first owner so I didn't have that and needed to get it from the dealership. I don't understand why they didn't just say that to start with. What a waste of my time driving there in rush hour traffic and then having to go to the dealership to get the code. I didn't return to Action. The dealership felt sorry for me and did the job for free. Very unsatisfactory Action. read more

Fast and friendly service, and best price I found in town after calling a number of locksmiths. They cut and programmed a car key for me in just a few minutes. They're knowledgeable and have lots of inventory in the store: replacement remote key fobs, manual and electronic safes of all shapes and sizes, locks, padlocks, all sorts of key blanks, sturdy keyrings and clips, etc, etc. I definitely recommend Action and will be going back next time I need locksmith services. read more

This place was recommended by my insurance company for a locked out of a car. I called them they said it would be 2 to 3 hours and since it was bad weather I thought that would be OK. However I cannot contact them to see when they're coming. I had not heard from them for two and half hours, and there was no way to contact them because they had closed. Poor customer service, poor communication and more than likely poor service if they ever got there. I called somebody else and they were there in 15 minutes and I was on my way for about the same money. I wouldn't use these guys. read more
