Luckily, I had my tablet and was able to search for a locksmith and I am VERY grateful that it was Salt Lake Jake's that came up. I was able to email him, and he actually emailed back in less than an hour, understood that was my only communication, and let me know his timetable of arrival. Once he arrived, he was very reassuring, as I am a mobile, but physically disabled person, and explained everything he was going to do. Including extracting the broken end of my key and creating a new one from the broken pieces. He then went beyond and oiled the locks on both my house and garage doors, as they were quite hard to unlock. Especially the garage. It's incredible how easy they unbolt now. Plus, he explained how the narrow part of the key helped weaken it, too. He definitely has a forever customer, now! And I certainly plan on spreading word of mouth!

They told us they'd be there in 15-20 minutes, which sounded fine. Almost 2 hours later, they finally show up. Definitely not a company I'd call again or recommend to anyone visiting the area.

With the help of an employee at the gas station, we reached out to Lockthesmith UT, LLC. A technician showed up around 30 minutes later and had the door open within 5 minutes. Unfortunately, he didn't quote the price beforehand, and then he charged us $395.50. We didn't know any better and paid the bill, but then we did some research and found that this was 3 - 4 times the going rate. We called the company back as a prospective customer, and they quoted $89 and an additional $39 for emergency service. We then called a manager, and he kept asking if we had called the right company and said they didn't have any record of our service, but we were insistent. We were then called by another person who eventually offered us a $100 refund and a free lockout service. We declined that offer because it was way too low. After others left some poor reviews in our behalf, the company called us to complain about the reviews and offered a $170 dollar refund. We again refused. Later, they sent my sister a picture of her ID and threatened to report her to the credit bureau for bullying the company into giving us a free service. We responded explaining that we are no longer pursuing a refund because our bank has taken care of it. They messaged us again, saying they would report us to our bank and any other involved company. On the plus side, the company did respond quickly and opened our car without any issues except the bill. Make sure to check the other reviews because we are not the only ones who have had issues. If you use their services, be sure to get a quote upfront!

I was told I needed to prepay for the item which I did, and also paid for a service call of $150.00. Understand that it was quite an ordeal and it took him a lot longer than either of us thought it would. He finished the work and stated that there would be a labor charge for the installation. The part I prepaid seem expensive, but... I agreed, he came back and that price had doubled... After all was said and done the total I paid was $981.88! YIKES! I contacted Emtek and asked them for the MSRP of the product they installed. The MSRP for the unit from the factory is $311! I found online that several suppliers and found the item for $248 .80 MSRP $311.00 Save $62.20 (20% OFF) + FREE SHIPPING at MyKnobs, Inc, 14 Bayville Ave Bayville, NY 11709.
