Incredibly dismayed by my recent boarding experience at Unleashed. I got a call saying that my dog had been bitten by another dog at their facility and the staff didn't realize until they were putting dogs back in their kennels and noticed blood. Luckily, I was 15 minutes away when I got the call and rushed the dog to an emergency vet on a Sunday night. I got a $750 bill to stitch up a 1.5 inch gash in the middle of his ear, plus puncture marks. Nobody at Unleashed reached out to me to check on the welfare of my dog after this incident and when I finally reached out to resolve the bill after encouragement by the vet herself, the Unleashed manager Billy told me that the facility is not insured for such incidents, and it was the other dog owner's responsibility to pay my bill, and they were not being cooperative. Then 9 days passed where nobody responded to my repeated emails or phone calls. Billy told me today that he's done all that he can do, though nothing's been done. My dog is alright now, not that anyone at Unleashed seems to care. I should have heeded the other reviews about bites at their facility. read more

Looking for a new place to send our big guy for Doggie Day Care after our regular place. I called and the person answering the phone acted like it was a problem to speak with me when I asked a few questions. Decided to do a google search on them. First thing that popped up was a news story of another dog being attacked by two others and killed. No oversight. The attack went on for 15 minutes according to their video cameras. Wow! Called to ask a few questions regarding boarding over the phone and the girl that answered was obviously irritated that the phone rang. She said very curtly "Unleashed Dog Hotel" ...I said Hello can you answer a couple of questions for me regarding boarding? I got NO RESPONSE so I said "Hello" she audibly sighed and said "what do you need to know?" I honestly was shocked that I just hung up the phone. I was planning on booking a 13 day stay in the luxury suite. I already filled out on line information, got vaccination records, but will go somewhere else where the employees actually care about bringing in new business. I've been coming to your facility for years. Almost all positive reviews except for a few minor incidents I was made aware of as soon as they happened and you took proper action like taking my dog to the vet to get stitches. I was weary after that dog died at your facility but saw you were making changes. Well today I checked my dog into daycare for about 4 or so hours. After I picked him up he was acting really weird, I'd go to pet him and he would shy away like I was going to hit him. He also kept licking his paws for hours and hours and wouldn't stop. Well just now I found the biggest puncture wound that goes all the way through on his neck and an adhesion on his eye. This is SO unacceptable. After paying $400 for my dog to be neglected I will not be returning. I gave this place multiple chances despite having unsettling experiences each time but after this third stay I will never leave a dog here again. The first two stays (3-4 days each time) he came home with weird paw rashes which I assumed were from running on the turf. However, after watching them spray chemicals and sanitize the play area using an industrial zamboni with the room FULL OF SMALL DOGS that could've easily been CRUSHED, I realized the rash was from the chemicals. I paid extra this weekend for the $125 room to monitor my babies this time as I asked them to take my dog in and out to make sure his feet didn't get damaged running all day. I was concerned that I never saw him out of the room but assumed I missed the breaks since I wasn't watching nonstop of course. No one called or said anything was wrong until an hour before I picked up. I got a voicemail saying that he had been refusing to leave the room, was peeing dark pee, drinking his pee, and that he had a fever, most likely a UTI from not urinating all weekend. I had also asked for his sweater to be left on IF safe but he was clearly overheating and they still did not remove it. The groomer then apparently tried to grab him and he lunged at them, which they should not have done if he was visibly in destress all weekend. I am worried they traumatized my other puppy for his first grooming experience ever... They also claimed they separated my dogs to feed them despite me watching on camera my dogs eating together in their room. I can't even be sure my older dog ate since he came home STARVING and the puppy seemed like he'd been feasting all weekend and barely touched food after bringing them home. I was still charged full price despite the obvious neglect and the fact I had to head to the ER, which they tried to talk me out of since they didn't want me to try to get them to pay for it I am sure (they wouldn't anyway based on other reviews). My dog was at the vet monday for a vaccine and was in perfect health when I left. On top of all this, I have seen dogs left completely unattended in playgroups with other dogs, where anything could happen with no one around to stop it. I also saw them leave a dog alone in the dark and snow for a while and was about to call the hotel to check on it when someone finally came out for it. Absolutely disgusted by this place. If I could give a zero or negative stars I would. This is a PSA to keep away from Unleashed Dog Hotel in Murray. I picked Stella up last night from doggie daycare and this is what she looked like. I wasn't called, wasn't told about it when I picked her up, nothing. I called right after I picked her up, and they said they didn't know anything. He did say that he noticed her walking funny. I then called the owner and he said that they'd look into it. After no update by 1:00p I asked for them to pay the vet bill ($108), they all the sudden have information that Stella was an instigator in a scuffle. The vet said that had Stella been the instigator or aggressor, she would have injuries to her face. She might have been high energy and playing to hard but she clearly was in a submissive state when she got all chewed up. The vet also said that Stella's leg would've bled a lot and it would've had to been cleaned. Even if Stella started a fight does she not deserve to be treated (emotionally or physically)? Did I not deserve a call? She was hurt too and probably super scared. She was visibly shook up about it. Limping and panting all night. Why aren't the dogs separated by age and energy levels like our other doggy daycare? Stella turns into a cockroach when the tiniest of dogs tell her "too much", so I find it hard to believe she started this. I couldn't care less about the bill, it's the fact that I wasn't called, told about when I picked her up or that there is no record of it. What's the process/protocol at this place? Huge shout out to Utah Dog Park our usually doggie day care) and Animal Care Center (our vet) for seeing Stella first thing in the morning and treating her with love. They were shocked and upset at what they saw. This wouldn't have gone unnoticed there since they do medical checks on every dog 2 times a day and have 3 people at all times in the areas where the dogs are playing. Stella once nicked her leg coming out of the pool and we were contacted immediately and sent home with wipes at no charge. We moved from Murray over a month ago and we are in Seattle now. I have yet to find a place comparable to Unleashed. My doggies loved the staff at Unleashed. Dan especially, he was like big daddy to my dogs. What we loved was buying the daycare pass and letting our dogs have play days. I loved being able to check in on my monsters on the web cams. The grooming services were also top notch. The boarding was also so great for my Schnauzer Babies. When we come for a visit to Utah the girls will be going back to Unleashed. We used to take our 2 dogs to Unleashed until one of our sweet dogs was returned to us with minor injuries. We asked staff about it and they blew us off saying no one saw anything happen. This place can fool you at first. You think....oh a pool! A large Penthouse Suite. Supposed to come with Dog TV and a FaceTime call. They forget to mention that the TV's haven't worked for a long time. Pretty crazy when you pay over $100 per dog to stay in the suite. The minute you walk in, it stinks. Walk into the Luxury Suite and it smells horrible. If you watch them "clean" the suites, you will see that they don't mop and rarely change bedding . Only if you ask. Then they let the dogs run around the pool area and outside area in large packs without supervision. When they do have supervision, they don't have enough. Nothing for the dogs to do except to walk in circles. Watch the cameras, people! If a fight broke out, they couldn't break it up in timem in fact, Google German Shepherd dog death and you will find the story of a poor elderly German Shepherd was torn apart by two aggressive dogs. Those dogs were not supposed to be with other dogs. I now go to Pawtown Oasis. What a huge difference. They have interactive games and are never unattended. The pool there is checked daily to make sure that the chemicals are perfect for the dogs. Mine came out of there with chemical burns on their lips at Unleased. Also, they were so thirsty. I always expect for a new business to have a few bumps in the road. But it's how they react to those bumps that shows if they have the staying power to become a viable business. I feel that this theory is widely applicable, and although I am fairly new to the dog-owner world, I can be an adequate judge when it comes to the wellbeing of my pet. By first appearances, Unleashed is impressive. My dog trainer (see "Train Walk Poop") was hyped on this place for the last 4 months. He told me about the bone-shaped swimming pool [for dogs], flat screen TVs [for dogs], and I went online to see that their hotel also features queen-size beds [for dogs]. I also saw online (on their, ahem, Facebook page, ahem) that they're offering 50% services for their grand opening so we booked our Huxley for a weekend in the Luxury suite. This room is usually $85 a night and the website says it includes a private room, queen size bed, FaceTime with the owners, webcam, and bubble bath. I worked primarily with Billy to register Huxley and get her set up for her first weekend away from home. From the first interaction, I knew she would be in good hands. Billy conducts his business like a labor of love. He has the most reassuring and patient demeanor with neurotic pet owners, like myself. Being Huxley's first time away, I must've asked dozens of questions via email and telephone, and Billy was professional and promt to get back to me about each and every one. Being the grand opening of this business, like I stated above, there were a few kinks to be worked out. The webcam had not yet been set up and we didn't have our FaceTime appointment with Huxley. I am also pretty certain that she did not get a bath prior to pickup because she was suffering from a rash on her underside and paws when we picked her up. The vet said that this was probably due to a cleaning product they use on their floors and she is allergic to. This is not something that I can hold against Billy, because we already knew Huxley was extremely sensitive and we've gone on an extensive search in our own home to find products that won't irritate her paws. I just think a bath would have helped her symptoms be not so severe. Long story short. Unleashed is a strong 4 stars at its current state. The bumps that need to be worked out are not anything to deter us from continuing to use their services. In fact, we already have Huxley booked for another week in May. I'm sure that after a couple months of being opened, things will go a lot more smoothly this next time and I am looking forward to bumping their review up to 5-stars. read more

Unleashed is amazing! This is my dog's favorite daycare and boarding hotel. I initially found them because of their extended hours in comparison to all the other daycares. It makes it easy for me to drop off my Weimaraner early in the morning and pick her up late when I get off work. I can't walk my dog in fast enough so she usually ends up excitedly pulling me in and not even stopping for a kiss goodbye! The staff is responsible and give her so much love! Recently I made a reservation for the luxury suite way in advance and just happened to call a few days before our trip to confirm...not only did they have my dates completely wrong but had booked the wrong suite and filled the one I had reserved. This has been a great place for my 2 dogs. Never had any issues - my dogs start whining when I turn down the street. My dogs come home tired. 2 suggestions would be to have more water buckets available and it would be nice is the windows in the pool area could be switched out so they open to give the dogs some fresh air. Last weekend we drove into Utah for a funeral and needed a place to board our 1 year old GSD. This place looked so amazing and sounded like a very safe place for our fur baby. Axel is a very playful pup, big for his age, but playful and gets along well with all dogs. We dropped him off of friday and picked him up on sunday, upon picking him up, he smelled terrible and had feces on his backside and seemed drugged, however, we at first attributed this to being tired. My husband did watch the webcams that were available any chance he got, and we did watch him get mounted by another dog a couple times, never saw him in the pool. One thing that made me think instantly was when I asked the gentleman who brought him out to us if he got to play in the pool, he said yeah he walked in and out( that doesn't sound like Axel, he LOVES the water and lays down in it), the gentleman seemed surprised. Fast forward to today 11/11/21, it has been four days since we picked up Axel and he is afraid of his food (why would my dog be afraid of his food all of sudden) and almost lethargic. This is not how our pup acts at all. I did find a small sore on one of his hind legs. my husband at first thought maybe that he got put in his place by another dog, however with the way he is acting, I feel as though a human has either beat on him or has done something not good to him, it is as though he is traumatized. We will be taking him into our vet for a thorough exam and will take appropriate action. I decided to get on and read the reviews posted here and I can see that something not good goes on here. Even the dog who was picked up as we were picking Axel up had been hurt. What type of place are you running or better yet who are you hiring and why do your cameras randomly work at random times. I am curious, do you have someone who stays there over night to make sure that nothing goes wrong at night like a dog being anxious and scared or getting sick? My dog loves going to daycare! She was reluctant the first few times (broke my heart to see her so sad on the webcams). But now all I have to say is "wanna go to daycare?" And she runs for her leash and races me to the door. She jumps out of the car and runs inside Unleashed without me now. She LOVES daycare. Staff is always very friendly and kind to me. And they spoil and love my dog. My pup runs in and greets them because she loves them right back. She's even made a few dog friends I have spotted her hanging with when I watch her on the camera. Best part is she comes home exhausted and goes right to bed for the night. It's not unlike taking a toddler to preschool the first few times. It can be sad and hard, but then everyone loves it. As time grew on the lazier Unleashed became... while we were on vacation in California in February, they left our dogs in the outside area. Only our dogs were out there! One of our dogs hasn't been neutered yet, so I understand they have to keep them from the other dogs. BUT hours in the cold? If it weren't from the webcams we would have never known. I talked to this place to board my kid dog while I was at work they seemed very respectful and very nice my last visit there I went to pick up my dog and he was limping and I asked what happened the one guy said he did not know when he took him out he was fine. then another young girl came out and said she did not know what happened maybe he jumped on the gate and hurt himself well my dog does not jump he just sits there waiting then all the sudden they came up with the excuse he jumped up to grab a blanket then they could not find his leash so I questioned why would he jump up to get a blanket my dog was in perfect health just had him at the vet the week before for check up and all with no issues so his injury happened at this facility. since then I have talked to several people who used to board there and don't board there no more due to there dog being injured or supposed to be out but kept in kennels all day one lady said she even had a camera on her dogs collar and it showed the people not even playing with her dog or letting her out of a kennel and there were no reports to me about any injuries to my dog at all and they lie to customers and make excuses why something happens when all it is is irresponsible workers. I bought a "grand opening" package of daycare and boarding. The staff is very young and some were not well trained. The place was chaotic but I suppose that's to be expected at a grand opening. I remember that the front desk person was so distracted by 5 different things going on that she had to re-enter my dog's vaccination record a couple of times. My big concern is that after all these months their webcams still don't work. I think that's probably one of the easiest things to set up. You can get a webcam for home use and easily sync it to a network wireless router. I don't get what the problem is. Every time I go in there and ask about the webcams, there's some excuse about why they haven't gotten them to work yet. I'm beginning to get suspicious. Update: It is Sunday (6/14/15) and I called to ask if I need an appointment to have a temperament/sniff test for my second dog. No one answered the phone the first time I called. I was asked to leave a message. I didn't. Fifteen minutes later I called back and was told that no one is there today that can conduct a temperament/sniff test and that I'd have to bring my dog in later in the week. Hmmmm. My two dogs were taken here for a multiple day boarding and shampoo/groom. We were told they'd have a private room and we'd have live video access of the dogs. We had ZERO video access to our dogs the whole time (they claimed their internet was acting up). Upon picking up our dogs we saw through the back doors that our dogs were crammed in a small metal kennel together (not in a private room like we paid for). We've been taking our Aussie puppy Mel here for several months now after someone raved about it at the dog park. She loves it here! If I say the word "unleashed" to her she goes bonkers and starts barking and hopping around! She's always dragging me in there and comes out so tired and happy. We mainly take her for daycare, but we've boarded her several times, one time for an entire week and haven't had any issues. We were able to bring her own bed, food, and a toy for her kennel which made us feel better having her sleep in an unfamiliar place. I love being able to check up on her on the webcams. Pick up/ drop off can be a little hectic if you come at peak hours, as it's only 1 maybe 2 people up front and a ton of dogs, but everyone is on a leash and I've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes. The 24/7 drop off/ pick up is AWESOME because sometimes I have a 12 hour shift 6-6 so I'm able to drop her off no problem at 5:15 am. Other than that the only hiccup I've ever had here is that one time I called while she was boarded for a week and asked that she get bathed/groomed before I picked her up (it was like 4 days in advance) and the girl said that would work, and then when I pick her up she definitely wasn't groomed. But it wasn't a big deal, they didn't charge us for it or anything and we had it done another time. All in all Mel loves this place, so I'm happy! read more

The staff is always so friendly and the place is clean and is by far one of the best places we have been to ( and we have been to a lot) My dog comes back tired and happy, and the 24/7 hours is UNMATCHED in Utah. I love that I don't have to rush home after work to get my dog by 7..like most places, I can go enjoy a dinner or a drink after work and pick up my dog anytime that night.. so awesome. Looks can be deceiving. Unleashed sure looks amazing. From the huge pool to the luxury suites everything about the facility is impressive. The employees however are not so impressive. The employees never seem to really care about being there or about my dogs. At Unleashed I get the sense that employees are no more excited to be there than they would be working retail at a mall. I will choose a less impressive facility staffed by people who are excited about my dogs than a beautiful place filled with bored distracted people every time. read more

I went to unleashed for a few months and had multiple issues. Poor customer service, transactions being charged wrong, and multiple bouts of kennel cough. That all paled in comparison to my last experience. My dog got a 5 inch gash that required 2 layers of stitches and 18 staples. The employee admitted to having a broken chain linked fence within the facility. They claim that my other dog and her were rough housing and it must of happened then. I know my dogs, and that would not happen. They will not let me see video footage. They also double charged me last time and Amy claimed it would be available to me within a week and it has now been three - still no refund. Dishonest company, dishonest employees.
