Consumers should be able to make an informed decision before purchasing a vehicle, especially when major mechanical issues may already be present. Had I known about these problems beforehand, I would not have purchased this vehicle. I strongly recommend that anyone considering buying from this business have the vehicle independently inspected and receive a FULL diagnostic evaluation before signing any paperwork or purchasing a warranty. Do not assume that a service contract will cover major mechanical problems--read every detail of the coverage carefully. Based on my experience, I would not purchase another vehicle here.

Since they sold out to Asbury automotive, they could care less about the customer on any service! Enough said! We researched multiple dealerships and were going to try each one for service, customer attention and actually see if they give a NO BS run around buying a car. We also talk with those customers at the service Dept to see how they are treated for service issues. Not one customer had anything bad to say about the service Dept at Cherokee Toyota and in fact some drove many miles to come here. We had no intention of buying a car the day we visited Cherokee Toyota and in fact our credit was frozen by choice always. After doing our due diligence we walked in and asked for Mike Cofield the one who had the highest recommendations on our research recently. Mike was fantastic. A NO BS guy who was honest, trustworthy, and showed us many different Highlander models we were interested in. After driving 3 different ones and having a special request for a simpler basic model we settled on a Grand Highlander Hybrid LE. It seats 8 was bigger than most we drove, extremely quiet and had the old fashion features with some modern ones we wanted. Mike was able to make the deal with little to no playing the back-and-forth games we hate with dealerships! Cherokee Toyota did NOT have the dealer add on fees so many other ones tack on and yes, we compared side by side. We completed the transaction quickly and a special shout out to the Finance Mgr who took care of any questions and issues we had ! This is what we do expect in a dealership. Not lip service but honest customer relationships and in fact Mike gave us his personal cell number if any issues do arise! He also introduced us to "his tech" in the service Dept.. so time will tell and YES we will update at a later date after we experience the service end of the dealership first hand. He then went off to meet with his manager and bring me back another vehicle to drive. This one was very nice and I was interested in making a deal. Unfortunately, the amount was more than double what I said I would be willing to pay for a vehicle. More than double! He and the manager went on to tell me about how much vehicles cost nowadays. I said that wasn't my concern. I've got no interest in vehicles that are more than double the price I want to pay. So they spoke for a few more minutes and mysteriously the price went down. I didn't want to go back and forth, so I just said I'd try my luck at another time. Although they were nice, it was a waste of time and they didn't take my preferences into account when showing me vehicles.

I left my car with them for two whole weeks which was plenty more time to work on the car and as I confront the owner one the day of to pick up the car he says it's not finished. I tell him I really need my car for the next working week so I really need to get the car fixed by the next day and he says that's he definitely not doing that because of a jeep festival and that I was ungrateful and he wasn't going to help me anymore. Not only am I left with a car that often times gets stuck in the parking gear due to the gear shift being jammed and the traction control not working due to the button being broken and non responsive there's also a huge worry and dangerous water leak that is dripping on the floors of the driver side (all pictures are provided in this review). In conclusion still haven't received my title/registration of the car or license plate and it's been over 1 month and two weeks now while the temporary license they gave me is expired. The owner said that has nothing to do with them and that I should call the state. Not willing to help me out with a car I bought with them for the full amount of $25000 in full payment. They kept saying they couldn't find the problem. Although I could hear it loud and clear. Because he didn't hear it he wouldn't take the car apart to see if the suspension was the issue. After 4 visits my car is out of warranty and they're saying I'll need to talk to new management this Thursday. Sounds like they don't plan to fix the issue. I filed a Better Business Bureau Auto claim. I hope to finally get this issue resolved. This is my second Hyundai and it's my last. Going to Honda for next vehicle.
