This was my 3rd visit to Affinity Radiology and while I've always had good experiences here, today…read moredeserves a special shout-out. My MRI tech Bosh, was absolutely incredible!!! I'm someone who gets really anxious with MRIs and he picked up on that instantly. Before I even got in he explained everything and gave me an eye mask which he said would help (and it did). Once I was in the machine, he talked me through every single step so I wasn't lying there guessing or spiraling in my head. He even told me exactly how long each part would take "this next one is about 2 minutes," "this one will be around 3 minutes," and then toward the end "just 3 more sections and you're done." This is going to sound crazy but he told me that I was doing great...which was nice to hear even though I wasn't doing anything but laying there - but hearing that just helped relax me so much (if that makes sense). That level of communication made such a difference and helped me stay calm the entire time. He reassured me throughout and kept checking on me and was genuinely kind (which is HUGE when you're nervous). Because of him, what normally stresses me out became completely manageable. From now on I'm requesting him and everyone I refer here is getting the same instruction...ASK FOR BOSH!! This level of delay for an appointment-based MRI service is unacceptable. If scheduling cannot be respected, patients should be informed in advance. I will be informing my referring physician about this experience and will also be leaving a detailed review online. Overall, this facility does not respect patients' time and appointment scheduling.

The…read moreultrasound tech did not know how to properly use the machine, spent a whole hour on one breast and was reprimanded the whole time for not labeling the findings and their locations accurately, as well as for holding the machine upside down! They also put my wrong age and wrong family history in the reports! My doctor informed them I could not do the mammogram on that day due to my breast having severe pains. They insisted on doing it anyway, slammed the machine down on my breast until I nearly fainted from the pain and said they could not proceed. When I received a copy of the results, they put the wrong results on the CD. I traveled an hour back to get another CD and asked if they could open the files in front of me so I could make sure the right ones were there. "We don't have any computers that can open the files on the CD, ma'am." I said, "In this giant imaging center, you don't have one system that can look at what is on the CD you are burning?" "No, ma'am." Was told the visit would be $420 upon going in. Turned out to be over a thousand dollars and was billed for the ultrasound 3 separate times. I am told to go back and repeat the whole process because I need to re-do the mammogram they themselves tried to force after my doctor told them I could not withstand it due to severe pain. Do not go to this location--I now have to pay to repeat all of these tests and can't even use these results, if they are even on the second CD, which they probably aren't.

There are a wide range of patients who go through there, ranging from patients who have been diagnosed with cancer to others just getting an annual screening. My doctor referred me to Bergen Imaging when I first had the need for an ultrasound. I have been a patient of Bergen Imaging for the last 12 years. While I can't say I look forward to my visits (who would??) I can definitely say that the doctors and technicians there are very skilled and understanding. I've had the need for extra tests in the past and they have been very thorough in sitting down with me and explaining why extra tests are needed, what the potential risk is, etc. A couple other important considerations - parking is plentiful and free, and the wait to be seen is usually very short.

We've been there a total of 4 times between myself and my girlfriend for a car accident. I went in early and was taken in on time and was quick. However, the 3 times my gf has been there has been just ridiculous. We came in an hour early for her first visit to fill out the forms and get her ID copied. (Typical for first time patients). We weren't seen for 1.5 hours AFTER her initial appointment mind you we were there an hour early already so we were there 3 hours total for a 45 minute test because it was the lumbar spine and foot. Skip to the 3rd time for her and here's where I got pissed off. My gf had aggravated her neck injury to where she was nauseous at times, vomiting and burning pain between her shoulders because her spinal cord was being pinched by the herniated disc. I made sure to get there on time for 630am appointment. They called the day before to see if we could change to 9am but I told them absolutely not because she had an X-ray appointment 45 minutes away in Hoboken. Guess they double booked her time slot after we booked ours already so they were trying to move one or the other. We get there 1st and someone came in after us. I'm guessing the other 630. They take him FIRST! Mind you, my gf had to take the pain meds she was prescribed to just MAKE the drive there from the pain let alone have to lay down on the table for her MRI. 45 minutes later her pain meds wear off and she's in pain and vomiting. The MRI tech remembered her and said why didn't they tell her the extent of her symptoms because her exam would've taken 10 minutes cause the guy who was allowed to go ahead of us was 45 minutes long. She had my gf sit next to her and tried to keep her calm while I drove to a gas station to get her big gulp cups of ice to put in a ziplock bag to help with her pain because they ran out of ice packs. Had to be on empty for them for a while cause the whole shelf was empty. Come back she's done already and sitting with the tech cause it was dark in her area rather than sitting in the lit waiting room which had me so grateful because she didn't have to do so. Also, on the 1st visit, they never handed her back her drivers license and out of habit of never really needing to pull it out, we assumed it was given back. 3 whole weeks not knowing they never gave it back. They didn't call to say hey, the drivers license was left in the copy machine. Not until I made my date for an MRI did I ask hey was a drivers license left behind did they say oh yea. We tried calling. (Complete bs)
