Me, all anxiety ridden, procrastinated until the point where my vehicle was out of date with the inspection/registration. Honestly, I still have my Pennsylvania state inspection sticker on my windshield and it threw me for a loop. According to PA my vehicle was still in good legal standing there until August, it didn't click until now that I needed to get it in legal standing in Maryland. I finally bit the bullet and did a search of garages that would do the inspection near me and with the help of Yelp I found a highly rated, locally and family owned garage nearby. Before coming I called ahead, left a message with what I was looking for, and waited for a call back. When I got a call back from them I got all the information I needed and asked about how long it would take and cost. Brian was amazing. He was upfront with me on every aspect of what to expect. Luckily for me, if I had my vehicle there soon I would be able to have my vehicle inspected and ready to go around lunchtime. When I showed up at the establishment Brian was there to greet me. He did my intake and answered all my questions. I'm sure he could tell I was anxious. I went about the rest of my morning and when lunchtime rolled around, and I literally stepped away from my computer I got a message that my vehicle passed the inspection and was ready to pick up. He even told me that my oil was low and he would top it off for me if I'd like. I said please do. When I got back to the establishment all I had to do was pay and be on my way. However, I had more questions and they were happy to answer my multitude of questions. I had such a great experience here that they surely gained a customer out of me for as long as I live in this area. I liked how upfront they were here. The shop contacted me on March 3 with an estimate outlining the recommended repairs, along with pictures showing the issues that needed attention. I appreciated the photos and the detailed breakdown because they helped me understand what needed to be repaired. No, I would not recommend this shop. I went there because my engine light came on code P0411…read moreair-injection parts and the HVAC actuator. I was filing a claim through Endurance. The shop kept giving me quotes over the phone until I asked for a quote breakdown for what endurance was covering and what my responsibility would be. They come back and said by the way there are additional parts that Endurance is not covering so therefore you're gonna have to pay for them out-of-pocket the overall total was almost $2000 and Endurance was paying an additional $1035 they added additional work that didn't have anything to do with the P0411 code. I asked Andrew the Service Writer that I was dealing with up front how much would the diagnosed will cost me if Endurance declined the claim, he quoted $175. After the back-and-forth with him and he told me that he called me back regarding the HVAC issue (he never called me back) I had to go all the way over to the shop because he said he couldn't diagnose the issue and the pricing kept changing, I did not trust them working on my car. In the breakdown document the diagnostic was $93. Andrew said since I am not getting the work done I had to pay $355. When I got there to pickup my car he charged $310 for 2 hours to diagnose.

Well, I did let them know I found a place I decided to stick with, Rising Sun Motors. There was a time period where I LEGIT had to fix like 3 things in a row. Would have cost me well over 1,800 (close to 2 grand) at the dealership... here, everything for $850/900 max. For ALL of it. On top of this, they gave me gift cards for a free oil change and other discounts for future work. NO other place takes care of their customers like this. Mind you, they also provide customers with a FREE uber home and back (within reasonable area of closeness to the shop. I am 3 minutes away (via car).. but, it still means a lot that they think about their customers and their time constraints (for instance, I work from home some days and I was easily able to get the car in and have the uber get me back home by sign on time.. never any issues with that, either). I have a 2017 Buick Verano (for those wondering what genre of cars they work on) but, they work on a LARGE array of cars, years, etc. They treat everyone like a PERSON and not a number. Also, there is a cute shop dog who loves everyone. :) If you need a place to go that will get you honesty, good work and will not break the bank... look no further than Rising Sun!! :)

I returned my car to Pugh Garage after 8 months regarding tire rod replacement. Another mechanic…read morenoticed an inconsistency when looking at the receipt for work done at Pugh in February vs the parts on my actual car. Pugh was the ONLY shop I used for this repair. I also have documentation showing that I purchased specific Mevotech tie-rod ends (MS86633 and MS86634) for my vehicle and provided them for installation. However, the tie rods currently on my vehicle do not appear to match the parts I purchased and provided to Pugh. When I brought this concern back to Pugh, they blamed other mechanics rather than taking accountability. The other shop did NOT perform any tie-rod work, and I provided receipts to confirm this upon Pugh Garage's request. I understand 8 months is a long time but I would not know there are mismatched parts on my vehicle until having to bring my car for other repairs to a new shop. I wasted time and gas just to leave without a resolution. My advice is to take pictures of the parts you provide and have the work independently checked afterward. It seems as thought they expected me to have seen they did not complete their work prior to now as if I would have had reason to go looking under my car like a mechanic when that is not my profession.

I just get routine maintenance and checkups. What I will say is they *do not* overcharge or invent unnecessary work. Even when I specifically ask for something (e.g. changing the brake pads) they will often look at it, call me, and tell me the work's not necessary. That's integrity for you!
