DO NOT GO HERE! This place scammed me. I went in to replace my transmission. They told me it would take a week and cost $13, 400 for a brand new transmission. They had my car for more than 3 weeks. After a few days, I noticed an oil leak. I went to a different station and they found that Universal Truck Repair installed a USED transmission instead of a new one!! I was promised a brand new transmission, but they gave me an old used one and charged me the price of a new one! Universal Truck Repair told me it would be new, but that is not what I got. Eddie and Bryan are the best! I took one of my freightliners in for repair's to the APU unit as well as the annual inspection. The work was done in a timely manner and the prices to me were good. I like the way they break down what the issue is and what it took to resolve it. A few days after I picked up the truck we had a issue with an item. Eddie is one of the coolest and most welcoming guys that I've met in a long time. His crew did an excellent job fixing my 95 Cummins 12 valve. My truck was blowing tons of black smoke at high speeds so they looked at it and find out that the hose from the turbo to the cooler was blown out. I knew something was up with the turbo because the turbo gauge wasn't moving and I didn't hear a blow off. They replaced it with a new one and installed new gaskets. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! BIG TIME SCAM ARTISTS!! Our truck's engine was damaged due to coolant leak and mixed with oil in side engine. After a few phone calls and email exchanges we requested for a new LONG BLOCK ENGINE to be installed estimated cost: $20k. Dropped off our truck in November 2018, got no update regarding repairs. January 2019 got update that our truck was ready for pickup. Received invoice for ENGINE OVERHAUL final cost $24K!! What happened to LONG BLOCK ENGINE replacement? Had to pay to get our truck released! Next day, drove less than 50 miles, truck broke down on freeway with oil spewing everywhere. Towed back to them for repair, ONE YEAR SERVICE AND PARTS WARRANTY, and was first told that they would fix it without charge. Got a phone call 3 hours later and was told that there's $800 charge because it was not part of warranty!!! REALLY?? ONE DAY AFTER, NO WARRANTY. Again had to pay to get truck released. 3 WEEKS later truck broke down again due to loss of power and pistons making loud knocking noise inside ENGINE. Stupid me brought it back to them for WARRANTY repairs and again was told that wasn't engine problem, it was oil pump. ISN'T THAT INSIDE THE ENGINE!! Got charged over $3k this time!! Original problem: coolant mixed with oil. Engine overhaul service done, but OIL DELIVERY SYSTEM was not checked or replaced...SMART!! read more

Crap place. I suggest you avoid this place. They wouldn't do a roadside service job because it was 71 degrees and drizzling. The next day I was able make it to their shop, (opps, they don't have shop, just an awning) and 8 hours later they informed me they where getting the parts from the International dealership, now. Eddie is a standup and fantastic guy! They installed a new transmission on my custom Dodge 3500 and did so in only 4 days. His shop is extremely clean and organized always! I ended up getting very sick and going to the hospital and then couldn't afford the repairs. Eddie was patient enough to keep my truck at his shop while I posted it for sale. Normally a shop would never do this and charge you a arm and a leg, Eddie was extremely sympathetic! Eddie is a standup guy with lots of patients and I would HIGHLY recommend taking your truck or semi to Universal Truck Repair. If I can rate more than 5 stars, I would! Now, this place is the go place for my fleet. On last Fri, my truck got broken down. I called on site technician from other company. What he said was totally wrong(I figured after I met with technician from Universal Truck Repair), and I wasted more than $280 in 2 hours. On site tech guy finally gave up, and I asked tow company to bring my truck to this shop. Both tech guy and reception lady are super friendly and very informative. He did PC scan, and found out the issue in 5 minutes. And, he made my truck movable in 15 mins! They told me what is the issue, and they sent me a quote on same day. They fixed it super quickly, and I could pick up my truck on following Mon. No up-sell at all. Same amount as a quote. I highly recommend this company to anyone who is searching reliable diesel truck shop. I will bring my truck back here in few month for general inspection.
