I've come to really appreciate Universal Service Station. Their work is great and they've been able to diagnose and repair my VERY old Chevy Van on more than one occasion. Jesse, the owner always keeps me informed on the progress of the job. Walter, the mechanic fixes the issue and is friendly and will clearly explain what was repaired and suggests what else is needed, so you can decide and direct the process. It's great to have a trustworthy service station so close to home and they always give a friendly wave when they see you cruising past. Jesse and Walter, you guys rock!! Universal Service Station - VanDamn! '91 Chevy G30 Pathfinder K Van 4x4 - Auto Repair Near Me - Burbank, California

Came here for two washes. Both $30 it was a quick deal. Owner said I didn't tip but you see my bank statement says $37.00 not $30 [Tipped 7!] I told him I would come back every week on Friday. Third time I came back and he said he couldnt do it today. Forth time I sent him a message on Instagram by his request. Didnt respond to me for one week. Drove over there two more times the week after and he was never there. I finally saw him and asked him for a wash and he told me the company had family problems and was unable to wash today but later on that day he was washing cars while I was stuck at the red light. This business is a complete joke. I absolutely don't recommend it to anyone. Im a Person who would of come by every Friday for a wash. read more

Went in for a spark plug change. Quick, easy and honest. Would definitely recommend to a friend or family.

There is almost no greater worry than when it comes to car maintenance. You never know if you actually need that service they say you do. The sky is the limit on how expensive it can get. I've been going to Universal Service Station for about 4-5 years. Their prices are always reasonable and they indeed know their way around cars. But the most valuable thing to me is that I can trust them to do a great job and let me know exactly what is needed. Major credit to Jesse for cultivating that trust pretty much from the get-go and for always staffing quality mechanics. read more

WOW! I came to Universal Service Station on a recommendation after I felt the place I had been going to was giving me a raw deal. My car had a light come on and the place I brought it to gave me the only option of buying a new engine, from them, for several thousand dollars. I brought it in to Jesse, who was very helpful, was great at communicating my options and answering all my questions. He gave me odds on what certain procedures were likely to do and how much they would cost. He even gave me great advice on what to do after giving the car back to me. He literally saved me thousands of dollars. In addition, the shop is open late so if you work normal office hours, it's not a big deal to drop off or pick up the car after work hours. I'll be going to Universal Service Station moving forward. Thanks to all involved! read more

Service was great from start to finish. Jesse responded quickly, addressed my concerns, penciled me in in just 2 days, and replaced my brakes in under an hour. read more

Finding a good detailer is like finding a good barber. You know you're in good hands when you can ask anything and he'll give you a straightforward and honest answer while considering your situation. If you're still looking for a detailer Jesse is your best bet. I've done just a little research on detailing and I can tell you that this guy knows his stuff. He takes time to pay attention to the details and actually cares about what he does. He'll even teach you how to care for your car yourself if you're looking to save some money. If you have at least a little bit of interest or know-how you can respect this guy's passion and work. He'll give you his honest recommendations from his point of view. Shoot him a question and he'll answer you honestly and respectfully. I've got a modest Corolla right now but I'll be bringing in my future vehicles if I'm still in the area and will be recommending him to anyone who wants a quality job. Looking forward to coming back! read more

I am so greatful to have their location so close by my house. Jesse is a good guy. He finds the best quality parts for a cheap price. He is very thorough and has a no non-sense attitude. I would say that he goes above and beyond for his customers. He even offered to give me a ride home (less than 5 minutes away) one day, which is a very nice gesture. I can't say enough good things about this place. Maybe the only downside is that they are usually packed (but then again, it says a lot about the good work they do because people keep coming!). read more

I have been meaning to leave a great review for MANY YEARS, so this review is late (humblest apologies!). I needed an A/C & compressor replacement for my Benz & I called around to dozens of places for quotes. I was shocked at the pricy quotes that I was getting. When I spoke to Jesse (the owner) at Universal Service Station, not only did he quote me the lowest price, he was so friendly, helpful, & knowledgeable. He went over-&-beyond to fix the car as soon as possible & he kept me informed on the status of the repair, throughout the process. From the start, I felt like he was looking out for me. This was the first time that I have ever had my car repaired & felt so much peace of mind. It was awesome to find a great mechanic & auto detailer. Jesse is the BEST, bar-none. read more

My 2008 BMW 328i Coupe SULEV was leaking Coolant all over the place. I went through 2 gallons of coolant in less than 24 Hours. I did a YELP search and found this place. Jesse was very professional and knowledgeable over the phone, so I decided to get my car towed to the shop. Turned out that my Upper Radiator Hose had Busted and I was putting the wrong coolant in my car. The total cost of repair was so reasonable and affordable. Jesse charged me a fraction of what the BMW dealer was tryna charge me. Being a Woman out here with a foreign car, I feel comfortable knowing that I have a dependable mechanic to rely on and that I won't be taken advantage of. read more

Took my car here on several occasions - broken window motor, tire pressure issue, and to replace a starter. Each time I was given excellent customer service. I can totally see why they have 5 stars! Jesse and Argad are both great and friendly guys. They thoroughly explained what the issue was and provided cost-effective options to fix it. They offer rides to where you need to go after you drop off your car, like what other shop does that?! Definitely check this place out if you need a service! read more

I have been coming to this "gas station/mechanic spot" for years now but it was only recently I learned about their detailing service! You might have passed by it driving on glenoaks if you are a local I knew Jesse for years and just met Guga but know already that they are professionals at what they do. My brand new car had severe water marks due to the water leaks from my apartment building.. and would not come off no matter how hard I scrubbed. When I brought the car to Jesse he assured me that his crew will do me right and he did just that They provide extremely delicate detailing service that I recommend to everyone! read more

I currently live two blocks up the street from a car cleaning service and I had a very bad experience with them,so when I finally got this car that was in really bad shape I didn't want to take it to them. I decided to look at yelp and I came across Universal Service Station Auto Repair & Detail Shoppe's and I thank god I gave this place a chance and honestly this is the best choice I have made. Jesse is amazing at detailing the cars. This car was a complete mess and he left it brand new. Thank you so much!! You and your crew are amazing and I will be recommending to everyone I know. read more

I recently moved to Burbank and needed to find a good mechanic after my car (affectionately named Natasha) started to make some funky sounds. After a quick search on Yelp, I found Universal Service Station and requested a quote. Jesse responded within a couple minutes and I got scheduled in right away. They took a look at my car and figured out that Natasha needed her rear differential replaced, which, with a new part from overseas, would be a fix costing around 2,000-3,000 at the very least. But thankfully, Jesse and his crew were able to order a used part that arrived within a couple days, and they had my car all fixed up and ready by the end of the week--and it ended up being about 1,600 total! As a young woman, I've always been pretty hesitant to take my car in for any kind of work, especially since I don't know much about cars at all. However, Jesse and his team were fantastic and I felt comfortable throughout the whole process. Definitely the place to go if you're looking for quick, efficient, and friendly service! read more

I was considering buying a car from a local dealership and I had them bring it to Universal Service Station for a pre-purchase inspection. They did a fantastic job uncovering some MAJOR issues with this car that saved me from buying a money pit. 100% worth every penny. They do a thorough inspection and are very honest. read more

I called multiple places for a general inspection and Jesse was the first one who responded to me. He was extremely efficient with communication and honest with price. I was able to get my car checked up the same day I called and picked it up the next day. Jesse also gave me really helpful suggestion for what I should do to improve the condition of my car. I got my AC filter replaced and am happy that my car finally doesn't smell like dust all the time! read more

This was my first time coming here (needed my AC repaired) and I can say without a doubt I will absolutely be coming here from here on out. What can be said about Jesse and his exemplary shop that hasn't already been said? Hands down the most approachable and least sketchy mechanic I have ever interacted with and very affordable prices. Shopped around for quotes on a synthetic oil change, and Jesse here gave me a killer deal with impeccable service. They cleaned my corroded battery, diagnosed some other problems my car was having, and Jesse even offered to let me borrow his car to get lunch while mine was in the shop (so that I wouldn't have to walk in 100 degree weather). I was kind of skeptical why this place had such stellar reviews, but seeing is believing. These guys genuinely care about their customers and deserve every good word. Just wanted to do a quick update. Universal Service Station has been my go to place for everything car related for my family ever since they inspected my preowned car before I bought it (always get a third party inspection). Jesse and his crew have always been extremely honest, professional, friendly and absolutely reasonable. It's great to not have to shop around or get second opinions because I know they'll always take care of us! I felt I had to update my original review because in addition to my regular service today I also had them wash my car. Jesse did what he referred to as a "mini detail". I just have to say it looks phenomenal, even better than when I first got it. So keep that in mind when coming to him for service... Ask him to wash your car too, so convenient! Thanks Jesse and Walter! read more

Anyone who needs a check/oil change/maintenance on their car, you really need to consider stopping at Universal Service Station! These guys are awesome! They are very patient (they take the time out to explain what needs/what may need to get done and answer my dumb questions). They say that your initial impression that you make of someone within the first twenty seconds of meeting them is usually a fairly accurate judgment. If they're (aka my college psych professor) in fact right, then I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Universal. My little adorable Mini Cooper has been nothing but problematic as of late. Like a poorly trained Pomeranian pup, she's been an absolute terror, but far too adorable for me to even consider getting rid of. With that being said, however, I have a pebble-sized heart comparable to that of the Grinch's and have been toying with that very idea. I told Jesse (the boss man at Universal) all of this, and let me just say that if someone could radiate genuineness, Jesse would. He was very straightforward with his advice, careful to not sway me in any which way. He pulled up his iPad and hopped onto Kelly Blue Book and gave me the price I should be looking to get for my baby. He also gave me several options to make maintenance a bit more manageable (economically) should I decide to keep her (third party warranties). He even gave me his number and email address just in case I found a possible third party and wanted to seek his expertise in judgment. He's restoring my faith in humanity here. I've been dealing with automotive repair shops and the dealership for the past few weeks and their estimates have been up the wazoo! The prices here are not only beyond fair ($79.95 for an oil change on a Mini Cooper when the dealership gave an estimate of a minimum of $150), but I'd even argue that they're low considering the service that you actually receive. Jesse actually cares about you and your coche--regardless of how much of a terror they choose to be. He's honest, reliable, and fair which unfortunately seems to be difficult to find in service stations nowadays. So, when you do find one that gives you a beyond great first impression in those initial twenty seconds (hint hint cough cough--this place should be your new jam), it's important to never never ever let go. I for sure won't. read more

I've been getting gas here for a few years. Recently, my car had some major overheating problems. My mind immediately went to the worst case scenarios, as you can imagine. On happenstance, I popped in and asked Jesse what he thought the problem might be. He tried his best to diagnose the problem with the bits of frantic information I had. Within the hour, I had my car in his shop. He went out of his way to get the best parts at an affordable price and had my car ready in a speedy manner. I've since gone back to check my battery, get an oil change, and I could not be more impressed with Jesse and his work ethic. I'll definitely be recommending him to friends and family. I can say without a doubt, he's the best and most honest mechanic/shop owner I've ever met. I always tell you this every time I stop by for gas, but, thanks again, Jesse! read more

The low tire pressure alarm went off, so I needed to put some air into my tires. I drove up to the air pump at the Valero/Universal Service Station, walked up to the cashier to get some quarters. A friendly guy at the cashier gave me a clicker for the air so that I could pump the air away without paying for it. WHAAAATTT???!! I know it is not much money to put some air into 4 tires (a couple bucks at max), but I was quite appreciative of his gesture. I just felt happy, and hope for humanity has been restored! (Well, it was not damaged to begin with...) Good people and great customer service! read more

Jesse and Russell are the best mechanics I have ever met. They are honest and trustworthy, which is almost impossible to find in this big city. They have helped my boyfriend and I with our super old Ford Escort, which we are hanging onto for another month or so then buying a new car. Also when our brand new 2013 Honda had a flat tire and I was late for work, they didn't hesitate to fill it up so I could get to the Honda dealership in Hollywood. They aren't out for your money, they simply want to make sure your car is the best it can be. We are so lucky to live around the corner from this shop, we will be customers for life. Thanks Jesse and Russell for everything! read more

I still stand by my original review, but I will say the owner reached out to me to listen to my concerns. I'm not going to tell him how to run his business, but if you nickel and dime customers and if you realize that every gas station nearby (76 on San Fernando, Mobil on glenoaks, etc) offers water and air upon request, you mAy lose business... Especially those who stopped by for gas in the morning, forgot to get air, and needed air in the afternoon. Also, my griping was also due in large part to the rude female cashier at the time. Looks like I'm in the minority with my review, so hopefully this was an isolated incident. With all the great reviews, I'm tempted to stop by. read more

I called first thing in the morning as my car unexpectedly had a list of repair "issues," with the request that everything be done in one day, while I wait. Jesse, the owner, replied, "What time do you want to come in?" How often do you hear that? But before I scheduled an appointment, Jesse told me the cost of the parts and labor to make sure I knew everything up front. And, unlike other repair shops, the final bill did not suddenly 'inflate' from the amount originally quoted. I brought my car in that afternoon, hung out in the nice little park across the street, and my car was ready on time. No need to look for another trustworthy repair shop...take your car here. read more

We were looking into purchasing a used car but wanted to take it to an independent mechanic first for an inspection. We chose Universal based on the Yelp reviews and were glad we did. We received excellent and personalized service at Universal Service Station. The mechanics were very thorough, checking the car carefully. After the inspection, we mentioned that the transmission had seemed off during the test drive. I felt that they really listened to us because they took another look at the car and drove it around the block. They gave us a very detailed report that gave us the peace of mind to purchase with confidence. There was zero upselling or BS. These guys are straightforward, honest and very friendly. No wonder they have nothing but 5 star reviews. read more

I wish I had access to a 6th star. You know when you move somewhere new and you ask your friends if they know a good mechanic, it's always kind of jokingly? As if no one really knows a GOOD mechanic. Well I know one, no catches. No, "well, he's kind of expensive but...", "He's not very nice, but...", "he's hard to get a hold of, but..." or "he's kind of shady, but...". Jessie (the Manager) is the real deal. I went in because of the excellent yelp reviews and I wasn't let down. I had a budget and he did EVERYTHING to help me with it. Despite the fact that I had been a bit moronic (kept forgetting what parts needed fixing) he never spoke down to me. For once, a mechanic that doesn't expect me to be one too, or disrespect me because I'm not (and let's be honest, because I'm female). I've had a 2002 Ford Focus for the past 7 years and it wasn't in great shape when I got it. Because of my life situations it hasn't had all the love it deserved. I had been debating whether it would be worth it to put in a solid chuck of money on it, or if it would be better to save a while and get another used car. Universal has revived her and I can't be more grateful. He and his team were very accommodating and efficient with the work. I had taken it in a couple of times the week before Christmas to New Years day and they made sure I wasn't going to be left in the lurch because of the holiday. I even feel guilty. The first time the work was done, I was unsure of the effect it had, so he had me bring it back in and didn't rob me for it. If every business ran the way that Universal Service Station does, then we'd be in a very friendly, helpful, kind and loving world. That's right, a mechanic has increased my hope for the future.
