If I could have put 10 stars here, I would have, as every single step of the process was convenient, fast, upfront, accurate, and the people delightful. Price ended up being better than anywhere in Charleston that I had called. I actually had a contract at another place, and was rescued by Universal Marble & Granite from the empty promises and "bait and switch" I was experiencing elsewhere. My granite journey, like many homeowners, began with pricing at a few places, review of products, etc. but I had a tight timeline and so ended up at the Big L***'S box based on price and the promise of a 10 day install. After getting zero customer service there, I called a few more places, but just trying to find someone to answer the phone at noon on a Friday is a challenge. But, then came my fortuitous call to Universal M&G, with a pleasant Friday greeting by Kay. I told Kay my tale of woe from the Big L, and that I needed to cancel my existing contract ASAP due to madness delays by too-far-away installers. Though the Universal team was busy at the home show, the so congenial Kay went 150% out of her way to connect me with Greg, and four hours later that day, I had an estimate quoted and a contract signed. The quote was CHEAPER than the big box, and Greg contacted me the next week for install dates. Would you believe install four days later!!?? Installers were professional and fast. With Universal M&G, I was able to meet commitments with my property, get beautiful granite, and get a fine and speedy experience in the process. Why would I - or you - go anywhere else?? Their product line is vast from special order to onsite slabs. The entire process from selection to estimate to template to install was seamless and quick. We had a kitchen project which involved 3 areas of Quartz and a sink install. The fabrication and shop manager (Leo) is the best, extremely meticulous and experienced. I can't say enough about the excellent job done by Universal Marble & Granite. Greg was friendly and professional from my first phone call. Our visit to choose the product went smoothly and we found plenty in stock of exactly what we wanted in our very large kitchen. When our cabinets were installed, Greg had the guy who does measuring out within a day or two. He was extremely precise and careful and went over every detail with us. The turn around between templating and install was less than a week!! No other companies around this area offered that. We were barely without a kitchen. The installers also did an excellent job. The staff is very professional and will go out of their way to help you get what you want. After Universal did a great job installing our new granite and sink, I found out that the sink we bought was not going to work with our... unique... kitchen plumbing situation. Greg and his team went out of their way to find us a new sink and get it ordered and installed in record time. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! ProTip: If you're not a plumber... give your sink outflow pipe a look before you order a deep "farmhouse" style sink. Many original builders in Charleston/Mt P install this outflow pipe far too high, meaning your garbage disposal, after being installed into the new deep sink, will be BELOW the outflow pipe... which is no good. read more

I am extremely pleased with the service received from Universal Marble & Granite during our whole house renovation. In addition to Kay being very helpful thru out the process, they even had one of their template makers review each stone with us so we could tailor it to our specific needs. They had over 120 different slabs of Quartz, Marble, Granite and Quartzite in stock. We were able to find just the right choices for our Kitchen, five Vanities, Laundry Room and Outdoor Grill from their in-house inventory. We found their pricing better than three other fabricators we had visited . I didn't think it was possible but they were able to template and install the entire house in less than one week. Universal's customer service was outstanding!!! I am a working mother with a one year old baby girl. Universal went above and beyond to work within what little time I have to consult on granite, marble and quartz products. They scheduled templating and installation of the granite product we chose on a date and time that worked for my schedule. Their Installation Team was on time and professional. Their attention to every detail is what impressed me the most. They spent a lot of time and effort working on the seam trying to get it to disappear. They made sure the two sinks they installed were exactly centered and caulked properly and they even cleaned and sealed the granite before they left. Stone yards, fabricators, and Kitchen renovators all over the place! All we wanted was to replace our "Hi Gold" Ubatuba countertop that was installed 18 years ago. All they could find was GREEN Ubatuba. NOT GREG! He searched the ENTIRE South East and FOUND IT! It EVEN matches the 18 year old Ubatuba Tile Backsplash that we LEFT in PLACE! WHAT?! Our OLD countertop had two seams (Three Pieces). Greg's install Team ONE Seam and you have get within two feet of it and know what your looking for. Greg had a week delay due to the stone yard's delivery issues - I said, "No worries." Greg is a life saver. We had purchased cabinets just before the Covid-19 crisis hit and after the cabinets were installed our counter contractor was done unresponsive, leaving us with a non-functional kitchen. It was vital that we get the kitchen back up and running because my husband is disabled and needs the kitchen for various preps. We started calling different companies and when we called Universal, Greg got on the phone and let us know he would move a few things around to make sure we had a working kitchen by the end of the week. Fantastic! My countertops are beautiful and the service has been amazing- even compared to pre-covid service Greg and his team were great. Very responsive and quick they showed up and did everything within a week including dealing with MY mismeasurement of the space- they were able to get me a second slab of granite and cut and install them within the week.
