While we understood that IVF is a complex process, our experience was defined by a lack of guidance, transactional interactions, and poor communication. Initial Consultations and Onboarding Our journey began with a confident in-person consultation. However, I found it concerning that the doctor did not review our labs or medical history during this meeting. As first-time IVF patients, the terminology and contracts were overwhelming. The "welcome call" intended to explain the paperwork was unhelpful; the staff member was difficult to understand, and the specifics regarding the limitations of our plan were not clearly articulated. Communication and Administrative Hurdles The first major issue occurred after our first round. When our embryo testing came back "inconclusive," we received a brief email and one missed call. When I attempted to return the call five minutes later, I was told I had to schedule a formal doctor's appointment. To speak with someone within 24 hours, an additional fee was required; otherwise, we had to wait 72 hours. After a series of missed connections and scheduling errors on the clinic's part, we finally spoke to a doctor, but received no "next steps" or expert guidance--simply an instruction to return when we were ready. Financial Transparency and "Transactional" Care During the second round, we were blindsided by unexpected charges. We were told mid-appointment that we owed $500 because we had exceeded a set number of visits for the extraction period. This "per-visit" fee was buried in the contract and never verbally highlighted during onboarding. When we filed a complaint, a different doctor acknowledged that communication was a recurring issue with their newer staff. However, the subsequent "clarification" of our contract felt cold. We were explicitly told that the clinic's low-cost business model does not allow for "hand-holding." It was even suggested that other clinics would not take our case or would simply "drain us" of money--a statement we found ironic, as that was exactly how we felt at this facility. Final Assessment The service throughout was strictly transactional. There were no follow-ups, no strategic game plans, and no expert consultations to review why a round failed or how to improve the next. To this day, we have not had a follow-up conversation with the doctor regarding our last round. While some staff members are pleasant, the overarching culture treats patients as numbers on a checklist. If you are looking for a partnership or a medical team that provides professional guidance and empathy, you may want to look elsewhere. Here, the expectation is clear: provide payment, and the clinic will perform the task, but do not expect any support beyond the bare minimum.

Deeply Disappointed with Life IVF - Please Read Before You Choose This Clinic…read more I normally don't write reviews, but after my experience with Life IVF (Arcadia & Irvine locations), I felt it was important to share in hopes of helping others avoid what we went through. We started our IVF journey at the Arcadia location, expecting a full-service clinic. What we quickly found out is that there is no doctor on-site--all procedures, including retrieval and transfer, are done 45+ miles away in Irvine with Dr. Yelian. The only doctor at Arcadia was Dr. Johnson, who only offered brief telephone consultations. During my treatment, I never saw a doctor in person until the day of egg retrieval and embryo transfer. That alone was unsettling. What made it worse was after my egg retrieval, Dr. Yelian mentioned I should look into adenomyosis--which was incredibly disheartening since that was the main reason I was pursuing IVF to begin with. It was clear he hadn't even reviewed my file. I felt like just another number in a system that prioritized volume over care. Following the procedure, I experienced severe pain that required a trip to the ER. Not a single nurse or doctor from Life IVF followed up with me, asked how I was doing, or offered any aftercare guidance. The lack of compassion was astounding. Then, after our first embryo transfer failed, I wasn't even informed by a doctor. Instead, a nurse casually told me the transfer didn't take--without even checking if my husband was present to support me. She offered no next steps, and it took three days of me calling repeatedly to finally get a callback from Dr. Yelian. After everything, I made the decision to transfer my remaining embryos to another clinic. Shockingly, Dr. Yelian tried to scare me during the required phone call by saying other clinics might "put the wrong embryo into you." I was appalled that a doctor would say such a thing--clearly a fear tactic, and highly unprofessional. In the end, we found a new IVF clinic, where we received thoughtful care and attention. We had a successful first transfer and now have a healthy and happy 1-year-old. It's taken me time to write this review as I've been busy with our preemie and adjusting to new motherhood, but I can't stay silent. People deserve to know what they're walking into. If you're considering Life IVF in Arcadia or Irvine, please be cautious. There is zero continuity of care, minimal doctor interaction, and very little compassion shown throughout the process. Your fertility journey is too important to entrust to a clinic that treats patients like numbers on a spreadsheet.

How do you know if your body is silently breaking down if you never get a proper diagnosis? Through…read moreDr. Benjamin Yu, I was able to see exactly where my weak points were--and more importantly, the 'why' behind them. It was a classic case of: 'I didn't know I needed therapy until I got therapy.' I booked an evaluation not because of an injury, but as preventive maintenance for my physical well-being. It's the same logic I use for my car: you don't wait for the engine to fail before you take it in for service. A standard annual physical checks your internal chemistry, but it doesn't check the health of your skeletal architecture. If you want to live a long life without a wheelchair or chronic pain, this is the missing piece. It's just science. Dr. Benjamin listens with extreme patience. After just watching me walk, he could tell me exactly what I needed to work on. He didn't just explain the root cause of my back pain (the classic millennial struggle); he explained the chain reaction behind it using simple analogies and actionable steps. He treats the cause, not just the effect. Since the exercises are all bodyweight-based, I can do them anywhere--at home or while traveling. Before this, I didn't realize my back was aching simply because it was compensating for my hamstrings. I've moved away from the linear mindset of 'stretch what hurts' to a deeper focus on strengthening the right muscles for longevity and performance. It's about unlearning a lifetime of bad habits and replacing them with proper form. This has completely changed how I approach my training. I've stopped relying on 'primal intuition'--doing whatever it takes to finish a movement--and started using the muscle groups that were born to do that work. Instead of burning out my strongest muscles, I'm finally using the whole system. Be who you were designed to be. I don't know why this isn't a routine checkup for everyone yet, but I am sure it will be once we start to value our bodies as much as our technology.

I went to Dr Wicher for prolotherapy on my right wrist and to obtain a prescription for Rapamycin…read more This office is run solely by Dr. Wicher and her receptionist--no assistant or nurse, which is rare for any medical office. The first two treatments of prolotherapy March 10 and Apr 14 went without incident, but on the third May 20, unlike the 20+ treatments over the years I received from another doctor who always used a thin-gauge needle with no local anesthetic, Dr Wicher used a thick gauge needle that looked like the type used for blood draws. I trusted her judgment, which was a mistake, as the injection caused intense pain, tingling, numbness in my fingers, and damage to the tendon. I found out later she used a local anesthetic which she did not in the first treatment. The pain and weakness in my wrist is WORSE than before the treatments began, and persists to this day, to the extent that I it affects my daily life (I have trouble driving and cannot open a jar lid with a jar opening tool.) In my previous visit Apr 14, I received a prescription for 12 capsules of 6mg compounded Rapamycin. Before the botched prolotherapy treatment I brought up studies that showed that the compounded form has a bioavailability of only 30%. Dr Wicher did not dispute and agreed to send a new prescription to my pharmacy for Sirolimus, the generic form of Rapamycin. When I got home my pinkie/ring fingers were numb and unusable so I called the office to report expecting a follow up call, but I never received one. Three days later after multiple calls the receptionist told me the doctor emailed me: 1. Lia said you were having some numbness in your wrist? Is this still present? It could have been from the anesthetic but should wear off 2. Rapamycin: I am not comfortable ordering the non-compounded drug for you unless you obtain additional labs(CMP, CBC and regular lipid testing). You gave me some labs from April. When I did your initial consult, I did a focused prolozone one based on what you were coming in for. I would need to obtain further information before proceeding with this drug. I responded by asking her why she needed new labs when she had already given me a prescription based on the lab work the month before, Her response: "Since the actual drug is a bit more potent than the compounded one is why I want these labs. " This was puzzling. She chose to prescribe the compounded version because the potency is low as to be ineffective? She had already prescribed compounded Rapamycin a month ago, and then agreed to the generic. So why did she change her mind? The only reason I can think of is that, after my report of numbness, she grew concerned about liability and reversed course--not because of clinical concerns, but professional ones. There were more issues. Attached is Customized Client Schedule I received after my exam. Notice that recommendation 2 Dihydroberberine does not contain exact doses, but only a recommendation for the product she sells in her office. Recommendation 1 is also for a product she sells in her office. Also notice the hand written recommendation for "Caster Oil Packs-see handout". I was not given the handout and had to ask the receptionist for help. She added "wool flannel" to the sheet. Also note the prescription for Rapacycin 6mg. Another issue occurred during my first appointment in which my blood pressure reading was high, over 150/90, indicating Stage 2 Hypertension. I was given absolutely no guidance on how to address this concern. I cannot recommend this practice: * Overworked: The doctor is spread thin, as she has no assistants. * Poor communication: She doesn't respond to emails or calls in a timely manner (5 days to respond to second email). * Neglected critical signs: Like failing to address my Stage 2 Hypertension * Vague instructions: Handout was missing, instructions unclear, product dosages unspecified. * Conflict of interest: She recommended supplements that she sells in her office, I assume at a profit. * Competence concerns: Offers a broad menu of therapies, but may lack depth in some. Based on my experience, if you are considering prolotherapy, only consider practices that specialize in orthopedics and have extensive experience with prolotherapy. I no longer trust Dr Wicher. I canceled my next appointment, and will no longer be seeing this ND.
