THEY did not have any knowledge of this or allowed it. they never filed taxes by the month(feb.) they claimed, in writing, that they could do it. there was no reason for an extention. most times they just did things with no permission from my parents. like changing the work week from sun-sat. to end on a friday. BUt they had employees working on Sat until 5 pm. THey wanted someone small and local. he got too busy this year opening an office in croatia where he planned to be "for the rest of the year." THEY HAVE THIS ON EMAIL. how does he process payroll, book keeping and taxes that far away. the 7 plus hour time difference was a problem. so my dad's million dollar company was too small i guess. payroll is late by the 3rd time they complain. instead of Goran, the ceo, fixing the situation. he complains about our "tone" in ONE email. he trys to gives them one day notice to terminate a signed contract. THEY had to remind him THEY PREPAID so he is paid until the end of the month in 2 weeks. he sends digital records can not access and promises hard copies. THEY are due a refund and records because it was prepaid for some services. it has been a MONTH. nothing sent. they are not responding! they claim to have an attorney, he is not responding either. he is too busy to service "small" clients.MY MOM is filing claims against his company with frc.

I wound up filing an extension for myself. Further, only today, at the last minute, does he send me the return he prepared with several errors, such as a wrong address, an address no prior accountant has ever used for the return. He keeps making excuses for all his errors and even tries blaming a prior accountant for his incompetence, such as the necessity of including a balance sheet. A balance sheet is not required by the IRS. He pays no attention to details and only skims the information you send him. It got to the point where I had to terminate him, and I will need to hire a different (competent) accountant to do the returns. Avoid like the plague. Reply: With the number of errors you made, you have no basis to charge for anything. First, many statements you made are factually incorrect. The LLC does not and has never had over 250k in assets. As noted, with over 40 years of tax returns filed, not one prior accountant ever used an incorrect address, not one, only you. Second, it was clear you constantly made errors, never reviewed the entire information, as I had to keep sending you emails to correct and supplement the information you entered. It was very apparent I would never use your services again or recommend you, and you saw that coming and cut bait. It is clear you have had this problem with previous clients, and it is not new to you. Just look at the 2018 review.

The issue had been lingering since 2020 (2019 tax year). We tried numerous CPA firms and tax accountants. A few claimed they could help ultimately at significant cost to us, many told us to "forget about it". Last fall we decided this was a job for a tax attorney. I read reviews from every possible source trying to find a tax attorney with good reviews. Michael Raff's reviews were 100% great. I was suspicious of that many great reviews. I concluded that there were too many and too varied for the feedback to be fake. Not only that, he has a transparent and meticulous process for the way he bills and updates clients. Others before him pledged to keep us informed but only Michael proactively phoned us (and followed up with an e-mail) at the end of every month. The minimal retainer he asked for in order to work on this problem is still not used up. Michael was able to retrieve the money from the original error in LESS THAN SIX MONTHS, where other large, expensive firms had failed us for OVER 5 YEARS. He is still planning to retrieve money from the IRS on our behalf for the error adjacent money. We assumed he was a specialist only and worked as a dedicated tax attorney. Michael also does regualar tax preparation. It did not take much convincing to for us to engage him as our accountant. If you want an acccountant who is knowledgeable, dedicated, and ethical, I think you would be hard pressed to find someone more skilled than Michael Raff.
