Very unprofessional. I informed Ted I had an operation scheduled for June 10, 2025, and this was the first week in April 2025, and I knew I needed to file an extension. I wound up filing an extension for myself. Further, only today, at the last minute, does he send me the return he prepared with several errors, such as a wrong address, an address no prior accountant has ever used for the return. He keeps making excuses for all his errors and even tries blaming a prior accountant for his incompetence, such as the necessity of including a balance sheet. A balance sheet is not required by the IRS. He pays no attention to details and only skims the information you send him. It got to the point where I had to terminate him, and I will need to hire a different (competent) accountant to do the returns. Avoid like the plague. Reply: With the number of errors you made, you have no basis to charge for anything. First, many statements you made are factually incorrect. The LLC does not and has never had over 250k in assets. As noted, with over 40 years of tax returns filed, not one prior accountant ever used an incorrect address, not one, only you. Second, it was clear you constantly made errors, never reviewed the entire information, as I had to keep sending you emails to correct and supplement the information you entered. It was very apparent I would never use your services again or recommend you, and you saw that coming and cut bait. When I formed my S-corp I was informed that I would need a separate tax return just for my small business, which is why I was in the market for a CPA. I didn't know that there are so many ridiculous accountants out there! I took a look to see accountants in the surrounding area and called up a hand full since taxes and accounting are not my area of expertise and it's a big part of running my business. I had a hard time finding a quote. One accountant said that, "I would have to come in for a quote," and they couldn't ballpark a figure. I asked for an average range but no luck. I got another accountant's bill rate, but they couldn't tell me how many hours it would take, so that wasn't much better plus they tried upselling me... jesus christ. Of course there was that one accountant that didn't sound too confident which made me really uneasy... yikes. Unfortunately Ted handled me in a very unethical fashion. In 50 years of filing returns I have not encountered anything close to this. Due to a family tragedy, I contacted Ted on March 27 so that he could file an extension and do my taxes. He filed the extension and said he would notify when ready, probably about two/three weeks. After a six week delay..no response from Ted. When I called, on June 4, he said he had not done the work due to personal reasons and said we could make a joint call to someone he knew so they could take it over. I expressed my disappointment and he said I should pick up my file in two days. So my taxes are not done, and I am exposed to more time lapse and late fees from IRS. Ted speaks nicely and writes and says the things you want to hear. Beware. read more

This year was the first year Ive used an accountant to file my taxes and after working with Ted, I can honestly say I will never go back. Ted made the entire process stress free, easy, and seamless. All I had to do was upload my tax documents to his secure Intuit Link site and Ted was on it. He had my return done and filed within two weeks of all my documents being uploaded and was incredibly responsive to all questions that I had throughout the process.
