Fair prices, lots of inventory, and polite service. This place is way better than Game Stop.

Ask the Community - Universal Collectables

I have a bunch of old consoles (nes,snes,n64,atari 2600, and etc), Can Universal collectables buy them from me? and are the prices great?

Hi, yes we do buy all the old systems and games. The price would depend on what you have and the condition it is in. Bring the stuff into the store and I would be glad to make you an offer. Thanks

Not my full time job but I do love going into odd and ends stores to find a specific item. It's the thrill of the find that I chase for. So every time my husband and I are vacationing across the country, we spend a little bit of that time to find vintage shops like this one to find what is needed for his collection or others. I've been in search for a 2017 Mighty Morphin Red Ranger, made by Bandai, and is part of their "Build a Zord" collection, for about 5 years now. For whatever reason, my husband missed the opportunity to purchase this item when it came out. Time passed and when we finally located that item, the scalpers were selling them for an arm, a leg, and your first born child. I found the exact item on eBay from Make Cents and purchased it as an early Christmas gift for my husband. At a very fair price. I wanted him to go there, stumble across it, then surprise him that I had already purchased it. Plans did not work as the day before we were going on a journey to the establishment, he was whining that I was working on procuring items for everyone but not for his most sought-out item. So I broke the news to him. Make Cents is such a fun store. It's what I would imagine when I think of the best place where all my childhood toys are. Video games, TMNT, Barbie, Rainbow Brite, to wrestling figures, loved and displayed perfectly. The shop is small but so clean. There's also a glass display of all pastel pink items and I can tell you, I wanted each and every item. So nostalgic! The people there take pride in their products and they are aware of the magic this place has. The person who sold the item to us was so kind. He allowed us take our time to look at everything in the shop and was available to answer any questions, even if the shop was closing in 15 minutes. This establishment is such a gem and a must-see for all walks of life.

The small store in a nondescript strip mall is a must see for collectors. Almost all of the items are in a case or behind the counter and are clearly marked with a price. This is the kind of place to get a gift for yourself or that person who appreciates the effort of finding that unique item you won't be able to find elsewhere. There's a lot to see in this small but well organized space. I look forward to returning and making sure that I didn't miss a thing.

The price was fantastic--honestly better than anything I've been able to find at local toy stores here in California. Shipping was incredibly fast, and the handling was just as impressive. The item arrived securely packaged with great care, ensuring it stayed in excellent condition during transit. It's always a relief to see that level of attention to detail, especially with vintage collectibles. Overall, Freak Toys exceeded my expectations. Between the great pricing, fast shipping, and excellent packaging, they've easily outperformed the toy stores I have access to locally. I'll definitely be buying from them again in the future.

It was late and most everything was closed, but this place looked so cool we came back the next morning. I am so glad we did, what an amazing place, to call it just a store is not giving it its proper due. This is the coolest collectable/toy store I have ever seen. It will be a regular stop when we are anywhere near here. It's part museum and part collector's wet dream. Rows and rows and pegs of figures of every era and genre. I could have spent a lot of money here, and to that the prices are pretty reasonable. If you know anyone who's into pop culture or toys or action figures...wanna be a hero, take them here. It's worth a road trip....trust me! Amazing store, nice people, a true treasure.

During my most recent visit I felt insulted by what they offered in trade for six of my GBA games that Price Charting had valued at $154 (they offered $65 which is only 42% of the value). Just the day before, a store in Appleton offered me $50 in trade for the highest value game by itself (I didn't have the other five with me and only decided to trade all six while I was there). Needless to say, I left with my games and without the console I wanted to trade for, which was also priced higher than at the store in Appleton. The lack of other quality options in Milwaukee dictates that I can't completely rule out going to Game Together MKE again and that's probably why they price things the way they do. I wish there were other options in Milwaukee or that they treated their customers with more respect.

Me and my brother both were excited about this, and so we went together one day to check it out. I would say they had a pretty cool selection, however that is about where the positives stop. My brother noticed one of the limited edition N64 controllers (jungle green if you must know) paired with a regular N64 console behind the front desk. My brother was ecstatic about this, as he has a jungle green N64 but does not have a matching controller for it. He asked if they would be able to separate the jungle green controller from the regular N64 and he could purchase the controller itself. They said they wouldn't be able to do that. We thought that was kind of ridiculous since they had other normal n64 controllers they could've paired with the n64, but whatever. I ended up purchasing a Batman game for the Sega Genesis as well as a Sega Genesis Controller, and my brother purchased a copy of Frogger for the Gameboy color. When I got home, I immediately tried to play the batman game, and it wouldn't boot. I pulled it out and cleaned it, noticing that the connector pins were filthy and obviously hadn't been cleaned by the business before they put it on the shelf. After cleaning, it booted fine. I then tried to use the controller. The controller, also, did not work properly, and half the buttons felt sticky. I opened the controller and it very clearly had had some sticky liquid spilled into it at some point. Even after cleaning the controller still did not function correctly. This isnt really my experience nor my purchase, but I thought I should note that my brother's frogger game was also filthy and even after cleaning still did not boot. There is clearly terrible quality control at this business, and they don't actually test or clean their equipment/games before selling them. I will not be returning to this business.
