My custom backsplash. I added the Native American Fetishes, fossils and arrowheads myself. The grout is a custom color I chose.

My kitchen was a "one thing leads to another" project that started out with it being quite old and my discovering that today's modern appliances just don't fit correctly into it as it was designed and built about 1966. I had several estimates from contractors who were very eager to help me out, but their prices were ridiculous. One wanted to pull my wall oven out, and put a laminate shelf there, and destroy the cabinets under my cooktop so I could buy a regular range and install it. All for a mere $15,000.00. My thought, "Heck, I have a sledge hammer and some nails, I can go to Home Depot, buy a piece of wood and have an a great time all by myself and save myself about $14950.00!" I was getting really tired of all those games because that's what I felt I was doing, engaging in dumb games. So, I saw an ad on Facebook for this company offering a special and figured, "Oh well, why not give them a call and see what they offer?" Pure professionalism is what they offered. Their representative, Sina called me, and listened to my concerns and was very warm and hospitable. We arranged an appointment time, and he showed up on time with many samples of floors, cabinet doors and photographs of the company's projects. I told him I wasn't looking to spend my daughter's inheritance on making my kitchen workable, but I definitely didn't want builder's grade, or the quality of one of those stores where you buy everything in flat boxes, bring it home, put it together yourself and hope you don't end up with extra pieces, or hope that all the pieces are there to put your cabinets together so they don't collapse on you within the first month. Everything I was shown was real wood, and it was solid, no pressboard, no engineered wood, no plastic laminate junk. All the doors are soft close, and the drawers are as well. The quality is top notch. I also advised Sina that my floors needed to be redone, and I wanted my estimate to include new floors as well. He began by asking me about WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR in my proposed flooring. I found that a pleasant surprise, because many of the companies I found started out with the highest priced floors, regardless if they met what I was looking for, or not. I told him my basic needs. It can't be ceramic - I'm clumsy and drop things all the time, and I don't want broken tiles the first time I drop a can of tomatoes. I live my life hard, use my kitchen a lot and volunteer with dog rescue, so my floor has to be able to survive muddy paws and crazy dogs running full speed through the house and kitchen without being destroyed. My house designer decided to put my washer and dryer in the kitchen, so my floor has to be able to withstand the occasional washing machine flood, and withstand the weight and heat of my dryer. Lastly, having suffered a disabling accident, I need some reasonable assurance that I won't slip and fall on it, if it gets a little wet. Nothing is guaranteed, but I need to be reasonably assured the kitchen and dining room won't turn into a big ice skating rink. And I was hoping for a hardwood type of floor. Sina suggested I look at Mohawk flooring, as they have a simulated hardwood floor, it's made of vinyl, and is 100% waterproof. I ran my hand over the surface and it felt like real wood so went with that. If you saw it, you'd think it was actually wood. Sina added up what we sampled together, and computed the promotional pricing, and the total for everything was much less expensive, and much higher quality than the previous 4-5 estimates I had previously received. Sina found me financing for the project which had a lower interest rate than my credit union offered, so all things were a go. I went to their showroom to finalize my choices one Sunday and of course, while Sina completed a call with a customer, I browsed around, and saw items I liked better and asked Sina about what the price if I chose this over that, etc. I kept the original floor that I chose. The work was done quickly and cleanly. The demolition team showed up on time, and we had the surprise of finding black mold on the wall behind the dishwasher. A special team came and took care of the mold, removed the drywall, ensured there was no further damage or mold, treated the walls, and installed the proper drywall, all without throwing off the work schedule. Throughout this all, Sina kept in contact with me, ensuring that each step was completed to my satisfaction, and troubleshooting the very few snags we had along the way. I am so pleased with the results of this project. I customized my backsplash a bit, as I'm Native American and wanted to include some arrowheads and fetish animals in there and I couldn't be happier. I've had several guests come into the kitchen, and they all marvel at how beautiful it came out. I have a friend who wants to redo his kitchen and he'll be using Sina and his team. I will refer Sina to my family and friends for their home improvement projects.

I had a great experience with them. I worked with Farid. I highly recommend him. He is very responsive . They did my entire kitchen plus converted a slider to extend my kitchen out. I have heard of nightmare stories with doing a remodel but I didn't experience this when I did mine. I even had a friend say to me that she hadn't heard me complain about my remodel. I told it because it has been smooth. What I liked the most was that Farid was always on top of the job and the workers. I am very happy with my kitchen. It looks great!!!

a modern kitchen with white cabinets and stainless steel appliances

We just remodeled our entire kitchen with them and are very pleased with the outcome. Farid is very responsive and always made an extra effort to find a solution or communicate quickly if a solution could not be found. They also delivered ahead of schedule on a complicated remodel. Also want to emphasize that both the cabinet and countertop installers were very professional, diligent and detailed oriented, which resulted in a high quality finished product.

Our experience with Universal carpet (sales person: Tony) was great from start to finish. We got the best quotes from them after 3 months searching. Irvine location has best floor samples, very unique and pretty. I heard many bad things regrading floor installers from homeowners... I should appreciate Universal Carpet installers! They're one of the Kind... Fabulous job! They came every day on time and finish 1400 square feet on only 4 days. Awesome Team! We are great full customer be They are %100 customer satisfactions.

I'm very happy with my home's carpeting, thanks to Irena and Gil. Irena gave me a good deal, and both very professional, on time, and did a great job. I referred my friends, and will be using them again when the time comes. Thank you.

I was pleased at how quickly my installation was!

I finally reached out to Tompkins Flooring in Irvine, and I'm so glad I did. Cheri came out to take measurements and was awesome. She really took the time to walk me through what types of flooring would make sense for the whole house and what would work best on our stairs. She gave great advice, wasn't pushy at all, and really seemed to care about helping me make the right choice. It's been such a good experience so far. If you're thinking about new floors, definitely call Tompkins and ask for Cheri!

They were by far the most organized, quick to come out to measure, always got back to me quickly and at a fair price. My sales associate Cheri Andre was the best! She really listened to what I wanted and did not try to sell me something more expensive that I did not want. She was a joy to work with as well. I drove farther to the Irvine store because I heard so many great things about her. She really knows all the lines and will tell it like it is. As for the installers, Ceasar and Vickie did such a great job! They were true perfectionists! They really went above and beyond to make me happy. They asked me little things like which way I wanted the small trim on the edges to go, etc. I really appreciated there attention to details. I wish all my home improvement projects went this easily!

We knew that we needed an expert to complete the job without the risk of damaging them. We had a difficult decision to make and for this project, we obtained 7 quotes. After looking into each of the companies through the CSLB website, we found out that only four of them had a valid contractors license. We felt very comfortable with George, the owner of Jace. He has vast knowledge of hardwood floors with years of experience, has a friendly demeanor, and is a fellow dog rescuer. One of the other reviews mentions a customer's satisfaction with Jace's refinishing of their 100 years old floors. Though his quote was not the lowest, we chose quality over price. And we are so happy we did. Carlos, the lead tech on our project is also very knowledgeable and approachable. He answered all of our questions, and explained everything they were doing throughout the various stages of the process. Carlos's assistant, Jair is friendly and a hard worker. After the work was completed, Mike came to inspect the work, and grout the transition from our Dining Room to our kitchen. I didn't even have to ask them to do this. George suggested it to replace the ugly molding that was previously there, and on which we would frequently stub our toes. Mike returned a second time to drop off a complementary Bona cleaning kit. From the initial Yelp request to the finish of our project, George and his team were stellar, exceeding our expectations. Our floors look amazing, as if they were newly installed! I would recommend them to everyone in need of hardwood floor installation/refinishing/repairs. It is their specialty and their business name says so. Check out their work on Instagram @jace_floors

We're in the middle of moving into and remodeling/ renovating our home. The house has beautiful…read morehard wood and stone floors but the bedrooms, closets, stairs and this kind of funky, stand alone, third floor room have such gross old carpeting in them. So our first plan of action is obviously getting rid of the carpet flooring and putting wood flooring in the rooms and marble in the closets. The funky room isn't fully enclosed and has pony walls going around the front half of it that overlook part of the house- mainly the living room- we had the idea of turning this into a playroom for our little one and really wanted to get it done by his birthday- problem we had less than a week to get everything done. We found G&A flooring- called- spoke to Brandon and told him our situation, he said okay hold on let me call you right back- he moved some stuff around- we went in the following day found a gorgeous light natural colored wood flooring that even had the slightly knotted look I wanted and two days before our little one's birthday they'd installed the wood flooring and they did an AMAZING job! The team he sent literally stayed from morning until almost 8pm to finish the job including new baseboards and painting them. We have now used them to do another room in the house, redo a staircase landing where a mini demo had to happen because of a leak and the guys who did the demo absolutely destroyed the wood flooring- we found 5 XL planks in our garage left over of the original flooring and G&As guys cut these to a T, without even a scrap left and did an AMAZING job at putting the floor back together and making it look like nothing had happened. They also just laid the marble down in both master bedroom closets and omg the difference it's made. They are EXTREMELY fair priced I cannot tell you how many joke companies have come in seen our home and tried to absolutely rob us- telling us the wood they're using is the highest quality stuff in "the game" right now and with installation and the rush installment they could do a room for $15,000. LMAO. I told this to Brandon and he not only told me the flooring they were trying to install was basically shit but he can install actual high quality wood done at unbelievably fair pricing- $2,000 for everything- materials, flooring, new baseboards and painting them, labor- everything. Four other companies with the same product gave us bids ranging between $3,900-$7,000 and then the obvious psycho with his crap material and his $15,000 bid lol Brandon also goes the extra mile with his clients-since Marble is one of the most expensive floorings to have done, he came out to our home a few days before the job and measured the areas to a T to make sure he didn't order a box over what we needed to keep the price as low as possible. We'll never not go to this company and this is after going to 11 different companies altogether in the area. G&A always has the most competitive/ fairest pricing, beautiful flooring (what we're looking for every time!) and gets jobs done within a week tops (usually only a few days) of having chosen the flooring. G&As teams that do the installations are also all amazing guys, hard workers, very respectful, extremely knowledgeable and they even fixed a door frame for us today free of charge. Absolutely recommend these guys and looking forward to them finishing the rest of our house. Thank you for everything!
