He and his partner Brandie are a great team and compliment each other in the way they teach. I look forward to every lesson and if I could, I would take one every single day. Because the lessons are private, every lesson is tailor made just for me. It is truly amazing and I have seen how much I have improved in a very short time. They have implemented an outstanding protocol for safety against the Covid 19 virus. Since I have not been comfortable going to crowded dance halls to dance, having the option to take private lessons at a reasonable rate (with great discounts for packages) has made all the difference. I highly recommend FgDance Academy. They will work with all levels of skill and experience--from beginner to professional. And their guest workshops are amazing! You will love it.

I had been looking for someone to make me a better follow and work with my fiancé on his lead technique. I found FG dance academy and spoke to Frankie about my concerns. He recommended coming in for an initial lesson to diagnosis my concerns. During the first lesson, he quickly identified my need to work on my turns and connection and the lead techniques for my fiancé. After just one lesson, I'm already following better. There is a great dynamic with having Frankie and his partner Brandi so that me and my fiancé can get proper form and practice with skilled dancers. It's the best of both worlds. I cannot recommend FG dance academy enough!

Roman the owner was such a pleasure to work with and always put us at ease, pushed us when needed and most importantly ensured we had fun throughout it all. Learning the language of dance was not only a new skillset we added to our belt but also taught us so much about our relationship, weaknesses and strengths. It was such a great way for my husband and I to connect on a much deeper level and we owe that all to Roman, his team and studio for opening their studio with such welcoming arms and making us feel a part of the family. If you are looking to get into dance, learning a specific style of dance, honing your skills, build a wedding first dance from scratch or even just looking to add something new to your weekly / weekend routine - Fred Astaire is your place, there really is no point in looking any further!

Classes are a little expensive, but I think it really helped. Staff is very friendly and you never feel judged. Also very flexible with scheduling classes. We started with a box step and then the second class, she went into choreographing our dance and teaching us the beginning parts of it. She was so patient and gave really helpful directions. We also made some adjustments to the dance midway through based on personal preference, and it was not a problem for her. We took 6 classes (in addition to the first free one), but we felt pretty confident after class 5 thanks to her and just added a 6 for one last practice and to figure out our transition from the entrance to the first dance. She really made it approachable and always asked if she could touch you to demonstrate a move, which is a small but important piece of making her students feel super comfortable. Definitely make sure you ask for Masha for your first dance lessons!

Although I only went here for two sessions, as someone who thoroughly enjoys the circus arts, this…read moreestablishment was fabulous! The location is far off the beaten path, and with good reason. When you are in the flying trapeze rig, it is nestled into a tree-lined area in a relatively suburban location of Philly. This makes it adorable and charming, but, if you have allergies or sensitivities to outdoor buggies and things, just be careful. I might have had some bites that made me very uncomfortable later. During the sessions, I loved it. The staff here are kind, supportive and helpful. They are skilled and talented. It is more fun than you could imagine, so just try it out! They provide incredible feedback, so, just wait for it. Very helpful! I didn't try anything but flying trapeze, so I cannot attest to the other classes, but if I were in Phily for more than a day trip, I would absolutely try the other options for aerial and circus arts. Flying trapeze is so much fun, and in this tree-lined area, it feels very much like being in someone's back-yard as a kid flying around with an exhilarating feeling of freedom. Don't fret - the staff will keep you safe as you soar, literally, to new heights. Parking is not in a lot but on the street, so good luck finding street parking. There are lots of streets around, you just might need to walk a few blocks. Totally worth it though! Bring water and snacks if you want to stay hydrated and might run low on your energy. The building you enter to check in is an old-fashioned building made of stone, and it has a cool feel to it. Love this place!

I came here by public transportation from Old City, Philadelphia on a Tuesday evening in late June…read more2022. It took almost an hour for me to get there with all the transfers but the public transportation section of Google Maps made it super easy. If you're staying in Philly without a car, which I would highly recommend, you should get a Travel Wallet/SEPTA Key Card. The SEPTA App makes it super easy to reload money into your Key Card as you use it throughout your stay. I took their intermediate fabrics class and had a terrific time. The class was the right level more me as I had told them my prior aerial experience through email before registering for the class. I told them I can do a few straight arm inversions, a triple star, wheel-downs, and have been doing aerials silks for 3.5 years at that point. If you have trouble registering, just email them and they are fairly responsive. Rachel taught the class and we did a 5-minute warm up on the floor before some shoulder shrugs and a warm up climb of choice before jumping into the sequence - pretty appropriate for an hour long class, in my opinion. They have a communal rosin container for people to share and everyone wore their masks throughout the entire class. They even have a communal water fountain. I forgot to bring my water bottle but when I asked Rachel for a disposable cup she went to the back and found one for me - such a life saver in that humid heat. It didn't look like they had air conditioning but their windows are open and the fans did what they could. The space looked like an old church that was converted into a circus school. The ceilings were very high and the space was big enough to have two other classes going on at the same time. I learned a lot from Rachel and would highly recommend it if you're looking for a circus class to take in Philadelphia.

My son just finished his third recital at Dance 4u Dance Center, and my family couldn't be happier…read more In his three years of dance at the studio, he has done a tap/ballet combo class, a tap/jazz combo class, and mini-hop (hip hop for younger kids). He has also participated in the studio's summer camp programs for the past two summers (and will be returning again in July.) He has loved all his classes during the year (the staff are all just fantastic, through and through), and really enjoys the different camp themes each summer. (For instance, this summer he will be participating in a Unicorn, Mermaid and Pirate Camp!) The owner, Meghan, is extremely hands-on, and has many, many years of experience as a dance teacher. She and the teachers/staff really make a difference for dancers of all ages and levels. My son can be anxious about trying new things and meeting new people, and Meghan in particular has gone above and beyond to find ways to ease him in and make him feel super comfortable and confident. Also worth noting is how Dance 4u has lots and lots of boys taking dance classes. When my son first expressed interest in dancing at age 3, I remember being distraught over the fact that the majority of the local dance studios had very few boys enrolled, or none at all. Meghan turned this around for Dance 4u, and now almost every class at every level has boys enrolled. Three years ago, there were only 2 boys enrolled - my son and one other. Last month, I was overjoyed to see about 15 boys dancing in the recital! I love that Dance 4u encourages boys to dance. This has meant the world to me, as my son was quite discouraged from dancing when he felt that he would be the only boy. Finally, I wanted to add how pleased I was with another aspect of Dance 4u - the birthday parties! I had my son's 6th birthday party at Dance 4u, and it was perfect from start to finish. Birthday parties at Dance 4u are affordable and fun. You get to pick the style of dance you want, and even pick the teacher. Then the guests are able to learn a dance or two - and by the end, it's truly a sight to be seen! Everyone has a blast. If your child is interested in dance, and you are looking for a studio with highly experienced dance teachers and a warm, family vibe - this is the place for you!
