PEORIA OFFICE: I have not gotten anything meaningful from any of my visits here, but that is not my major complaint - I travel for work and will oftentimes i have to move an appointment, I never no-show, i always call ahead if i get called away for work and will be unable to attend. This last time was the final straw. i called the day before to let them know i could not make the scheduled appointment time and would reschedule the following week. The day of the appointment i received a very hostile call from the office stating that i missed my appointment, I alerted them that i called the day before to cancel and that said i would reschedule. A couple days later i got a letter in the mail stating i missed an appointment and if i wanted to continue as a patient there i needed to call them asap. I called the office and told the woman that i had had called to cancel and that i had told them i would reschedule when i knew my schedule and asked why they would be calling me and sending letters, she said she was new, this has happened twice though....i told her i was done with this nonsense and to remove me from their schedule i would not be returning (i was not getting a benefit anyway except a prescription for sleep - and my insurance co was getting soaked) two days later i got another nasty letter from the office saying that i had missed numerous appointments without notice and they are refusing future treatment and if i chose to continue treatment i would have to do so elsewhere...I told them I was no longer wanting to continue with them and they sent me that letter, as a final - what? This is the most poorly orchestrated mismanaged office I have ever ran across while dealing with a health care facility. It feels as if they chose to engage in targeted harassment of their patients because they cannot communicate within the office. It is am embarrassment to the unity point name. read more
