From the moment we walked into Unity to chat with someone about Granite counter tops to the last second when the installers finished up, Unity was more than professional. Michelle was patient with my wife while she took her time deciding on what colors she wanted. It took a few times back to the showroom to have her decide. The fellow that came out and measured was a few minutes late BUT he called to let us know that the previous job was running a tad bit over and that he would be right there. The installers arrived right on time. They disabled the old counter tops and installed the new ones in less than two hours. They cleaned everything up to back where it was before they had started the install. Both the wife and I are 100% happy with Unity and recommend them for your counter-top custom work. read more

So its install day. The installers came which were two Oriental and one Hispanic gentleman that came. They came in took a look at what had to be done. The lead his name was Lee , he brought in a jig saw and started cutting the corner braces off my brand new cabinet. I had to stop him and ask what he was doing, so I called the store spoke to Michelle who then had to give me to Alex explain that the braces he was cutting off is what hold my false drawer on the cabinet. So she said that he has to remove it. I explained to her that when Daniel came to measure that i needed my sink to but up against the brace and they couldn't be removed. She said that Lee says it has to, so after some back in forth we figured a solution out. They started bringing pieces in. One of my walls were not level and it bumped out a hair which Daniel measured that and said are you ok with a 2 centimeter gap on both sides I said yes as we hadn't put up back splash up and that it would be covered by it. So Lee decided to cut a 5ft by 2 inch hole in my wall to slide the counter top in, which now made all the measurements off that Daniel measured. I had to leave for 30 mins and get my daughter so when I come back I found I have a 6 inch to 7 inch cut on both sides of the sink base cabinet. He try's to explain that you wont see it and that the sink will cover it and the cut was for the sink lip. My sink lip is only 8cm's thick, while cutting that out he nicked the neighboring cabinets. So after trying to explain what he did they decided to put another piece on and tried to tell me that my one cabinet was not level so Lee brought in a 6 ft level and tried to tell me that the last cabinet was not level in the front and both his other workers agreed that it was. On one end I had a 1.5 inch over hang and the side where the cabinet he said was off there was a .25 inch over hang. Mind you if put a hole in the wall for the counter to go into which made all the measurements off. So I told him that wouldn't work, well he starts gluing everything down as he figured that was ok. So I had to scream at him asking what he was doing and said we need to fix this that it cant stay like that. So I had to cut my floor out to push two cabinets backwards to fix his screw up from him cutting the wall to slide that piece in crooked. So while they are finishing up they did not silicone where the granite meets the wall, where the counter meets the cabinets as well. So I asked them if they were going to do that and I received deer in the head lights look. They arrived at 130pm and this was at 6pm and the office was closed. I showed him all the chips on the corners of the counter tops and of the 5 he fixed two , one with epoxy and the other with bondo. Where the two granites meet at the seem was not flush so I had to have him fix that as well. It then came down to time to pay and I tried to explain I needed a receipt before I paid and that I want these issues fixed he said shop closed they will call tomorrow. He called someone they wrote a receipt took a picture and sent it to me. After two days and hearing nothing from them I contacted Michelle, explained my issue and she said she would have someone out to fix it. The next day Michelle calls me and states that they need pictures to make sure that all the issues would be addressed, so I sent them. Now it is over a week and have not heard anything. I have added pictures which honestly don't do justice for all that is wrong. My two finger ones the one on the left is so sharp that it cut my wife and caused her to bleed. The stove picture shows how crooked that piece against the all is. The gap at the front is quarter of a inch and the rear is three quarters of a inch. PLEASE PLEASE read the reviews on them and don't just settle because they are the cheapest. The craftsmanship is not there and to send guys that can not speak English knowing that there could potentially have a issue arise with no resolution or even a next day call is beyond me. read more

They don't return phone calls, use outdated methods to measure and cut materials, and poorly place granite on cabinets. Cutting cabinets to make the granite fit instead of cutting the the granite to fit the cabinet. Poor workmanship. We purchased 2 slabs of granite but only received what was necessary for the job. I've had the opportunity to use several different granite places in the last few years - from installing a laundry room in a condo, to building a custom home (with an expensive local fabricator), to putting kitchen counters in homes for my two adult children. Unity has been the absolutely best and I'll never go anyplace else again. The sales process was excellent. I called for an appointment and told I could come right over (based on my experience with other fabricators, I recommend always calling first). Michelle and I talked about the job, she spent time listening to my price range and showing me available slabs, and then more slabs. She took my measurements, gave me an estimate on the spot. I twice had to reschedule the measuring process due to delays in our overall project, and they were both friendly and accommodating both times. The second reschedule was the day before our appointment, because I forgot to call, but they were still pleasant and made me feel like family. The guy who did our measurements was incredible, even with our uneven walls (old house) and weird angles. I just can't say enough good about Unity Granite. I'd give them a 10 if I could. read more

I wish Beth's review had been up when we were shopping for bar cabinets. We loved (!!!) our designer Maggie but the actual implementation and service was negative 5 stars. We shopped with 4 other companies and were promised solid wood custom made cabinets made in Ohio. That my friends is complete bull. These are cheap veneered cabinets shipped from China and assembled in the USA. I have seen the plain brown boxes in the warehouse. Upon design and pricing, We opted to have these installed for $600 (on $5500 of cabinets and another $6k of granite.) the installers were TERRIBLE. They started drilling holes through cabinets that were to remain open (so you would see all their holes) to find the studs and damaged our walls as they carried our boxes in. They spoke very very little English and my husband eventually yelled for them to stop before they destroyed these cabinets. They did a terrible job of patching and we wanted new cabinets. The owner eventually came to the house to try to remedy. We got refunded on the install money, but handles were all wrong (took two tries on that) and the shelves didn't fit, so husband had to cut and fix all those. Didn't come with enough pins to put shelves in cabinets, had to run back to Fairfield for that, they accused us of bringing clips we bought somewhere else (ones given to us had rubber feet, extras they gave to us just metal.) Paint on shelves comes right off as soon as you touch, so much for solid wood. Have to add laminate shelf liner. Cabinets come with pre drilled holes for doors they just fill with putty so there is nothing custom here. In total we spent so much more time and effort getting this fixed and it delayed our project over 6 weeks. We cancelled our granite order given the lousy service. Stay away!!!!!!!!! I just had my granite installed today. I have to say the installers did an AWESOME job. When the granite needed trimmed a little bit- they set up and trimmed it right there. They were kind, courteous and professional. They protected my new floors and did a perfect job. My granite is gorgeous and makes my kitchen! The guys cutting the granite were right on the money with the cuts for my sink and cutting board. Plus- your prices are the best I found! read more

I had my granite installed this Saturday and I could not be happier. They showed up on time and got to work right away, one of the pieces was cut to short so they took it back and had a whole new piece cut and still installed it the same day. I would use them again in a heartbeat. read more

Worst customer service ever... after cutting my granite too small so there were almost 1/2 inch gap on each side, they refused to do anything to correct it. Additionally, they miscut the holes for my faucet and then took 4 days to come out and rectify THEIR mistake, this holding up my bathroom remodel for another week. I should've known this was going to be a disaster when thankfully my contractor discovered before it was too late that they had ordered the wrong sized cabinets too. I absolutely will never recommend them. read more
