I will start this on a positive note. James and his crew did an outstanding job on my yard. I was very satisfied and we made an agreement that they would come out every few months and do touch ups. Fast forward a few months. James contacted me and said that he would be at my house on Wednesday. He never showed. I later received a text that there was some kind've accident and we try to come out tomorrow. No big deal, accidents happen. The next 2 days, he still did not show. I texted him, no response. I then called him and left a message. still no response. I texted him several more times and called him, no response. This was over the course of a few days. James was fully aware that I was moving to Arizona and wanted the work done because we are renting the property. So now because he blew me off. I am stuck in a bad spot. I have to find someone new and coordinate with my neighbor, so they can check that the work gets done. Bottom-line. They do good work but they are completely unreliable. I would not recommend using this service until they start having a little more respect for their customers. I would give them a 2.5 but no option for that read more

Hector and his team went above and beyond and finished the job in record time. I reached out to Hector mid-day Saturday. I had a response within 5 mins, he came by to give me a quote within a few hours, and his team got to work first thing Monday morning. It was a large job and they came back to wrap up on Tuesday. They removed 7 trees, ground up all the stumps, ground two additional stumps, and trimmed all the bushes/shrubs on the property. Everything was nicely cleaned and tidied afterwards. The work far exceeded my expectations and I will be calling United Tree Service for all of my future needs. Hector was very considerate to ensure the work was up to my expectations. I can't say enough about the service and we will be working together again in the future. He let me know they provide several services outside of tree services (fencing, concrete, deck repair, you name it). Give them a shot and you will not be disappointed. read more

They were supposed to do landscaping and sprinkler system work. They did not lay down weed fabric. They cut the sprinkler line. They installed the sprinkler electric system incorrectly. United Tree Service owner sexually harassed the home owner and hit on her. The home owner had to replant a lot of the flowers. Now the home owner has to pay someone else to fix the sprinkler system. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Hector doesn't know how to run a business. Things started out great. The estimator (a contractor who doesn't work for Hector) came out and gave me an estimate. He said that they would get the work done within 10 days but would call me to schedule. A week later, I hadn't heard from them so I called and spoke with Hector who gave me a vague answer that they would be out sometime the following week. I called that Monday and he said he would come out Wednesday or Thursday morning. I had some other concrete work that I needed to get done where I wanted some stumps removed, so I called to schedule them based on Hector's timeline. Wednesday came and I called to see when he was coming and he said he wasn't going to make it but would be out Thursday or Friday. Thursday came I called and he said he would have to come out Monday morning because he didn't have the right workers available that week (Saturday was the 4th of July). I asked what time and he said "between 9 and 10am." Monday afternoon came and no sign of Hector. I called asking when he was coming out. He said he would have to come out on Tuesday. I asked him why he kept rescheduling and he said his truck broke down. It sounded like he was on a job site, so why did he go there and not come to my house to do the work he promised? He's unprofessional, he doesn't communicate, and he has no concept of how to run a business. I would never call Hector for anything ever again. read more

Hector and his team did a great job, he was super courteous and professional, was available to start right away, and the price was great. We had him remove 4 big aspen trees and grind out their stumps. Trees are gone, can't complain there. We also asked him to trim up the bottom of a very large spruce tree, and he did a phenomenal job, it looks beautiful now. There was some small damage to our fence during the tree removal, and Hector offered to come back and fix it the next day, free of charge, which he did. This is a small family run operation that has been doing it for 35 years! Hector brought his son, his daughter, and his wife all out to remove a dead tree, prune a large oak tree, and clean the bottom of a pine tree. They were responsive, on time, efficient, clean and were visibly working very hard. I originally chose him because he had good reviews, came in 60% less than the highest bid and was able to get it done the next Monday instead of 6-8 weeks from other companies. read more

What an absolute nightmare. First they came out to put together a quote, said they'd email me the pricing on Tuesday (it was a Friday or Saturday). Tuesday came and went with no communication so I called to inquire about the quote. Hector, the owner answered and had no idea what I was talking about. After considerable back and forth he finally sent me a quote and we picked a start date for the work a few weeks out as we were leaving town for two weeks. The day came to start the work and they were a co-call no-show. I sent an email to Hector expressing my extreme frustration over them failing to even make an appearance and got a phone call back from him. On the phone he proceeded to give me excuse after excuse about why they didn't show, even suggesting at one point that it was my fault they had blown me off. In an effort to avoid a bad review, Hector offered to start the following week and give us a discount on the work. I was open to this, thinking maybe they should have another chance so I asked what the discounted price would be. It should be noted, I had to completely re-explain the project to Hector as he had apparently not been paying attention when I explained it to him the first time around. He said he would get back to me with a discounted quote. More time goes by and not a word from Hector. I then followed up with another text message explaining that what little confidence I had was dwindling. Another phone call from Hector with more excuses and more "it's not my fault" and once again he has forgotten most of the project details I provided him. What's more, I can barely get a full sentence in on the phone before he interrupts to give me more excuses. Finally I'd had enough. I like supporting small businesses and I am sympathetic to the difficulties of running one but Hector and United Tree Service completely failed to do provide even the simplest service. It was a constant battle to communicate with him and it seemed like everything I said to him went in one ear and out the other. To everyone reading this thinking I am exaggerating or embellishing this interaction, believe me, I wish this nightmare wasn't true. Save yourself from an excruciating hassle and take your business elsewhere. read more

Without a call, they entirely missed the visitation window. Then, they were 1.5 hours late for the second appt. But, things happen - so, I understand. However, the price was obviously way too high.
