I've used this company several times and had nothing but good experiences. It's not luxurious, but the vehicles have always been clean and comfortable, the drivers courteous and helpful and prompt. Rates are very good and they've even offered to take me from the SF Valley to LAX for $50 - the one time I did take that trip by taxi it cost over $100! I tend to stick to much shorter trips, but I'll definitely keep this in mind. I'll definitely keep using these guys as long as they keep up this level of service! read more

Phoned for a car , they tried to send me to LA taxi... no answer Unable to coordinate a car, communicate or admit. They seem to be better when waiting at the airport. I wound up going Uber which seemed expensive at the moment but came in 6min. 5:19-5:56p waiting no text no queue for eta. read more

The taxi driver operating this vehicle was completely disrespectful to me and my family. We just had 3 people and he was yelling because he saw our group family with 7 people but we were all taking separate taxis. We explained it was just for 3 people, after he had already been yelling and asking if we had $20 as if we were not paying customers. He then agreed to take us after causing a dramatic screaming match, and he was then asked why he felt the need to be so rude and he then snapped, ripped my mother's luggage out of his taxi and threw it aggressively on the curb. I have never seen a taxi driver mistreat paying customers such as he did. You shouldn't be working in that type of business if you are unable to communicate respectfully to paying customers. I've attached a photo of the vehicle tags and number. This was at the LAX airport. read more

United Taxi - Taxi Cab - Taxis Near Me - Van Nuys, California

I was driving on the 405 freeway today at 9:36 am and this taxi driver cut me off all of the sudden, he didn't even fit in, no light signals. I was driving my new born to the hospital and he flicked me off. I was so scared because he kept on stopping and stopping trying to make me read end him. His taxi cab number is 900. I guess you guys just hire whoever is wiling to do the job . This driver DOES NOT have ANY respect for other people's lives. Zero starts if I could for you being so irresponsible, negligent and stupid.Lives matter, no matter what color we are. Fire this asshole who almost kill me and my newborn. Take this seriously please!!!! Your company could be liable too if anything bad happens to other drives thanks to this monster. read more

Yeah if they do "allow" you to get one of their taxis , you'll have to wait min 35 mins. In addition , everytime I call for a return ride , the rude lady in office tells me there is absolutely no cabs in area and won't be and suggests I call checker cab .... 2 stars for the digital trip meter you look at for your total. Super cool expected prices for ride. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I have used you because ALL THE OTHER TAXI SERVICES ARE CRAP TOO. You would think they'd be grateful you're not using Uber. But no, don't tell a driver you have Citiride 'cause it's way too much work to put those numbers in or to call them and they could put them in. Don't let them tell you 3 hours in advance for a reservation and nope, still couldn't make it. You know what? DON'T TAKE RESERVATIONS if it expires! Don't say 15 minutes when you mean 30. On hold indefinitely then disconnect 3x. I already complained to customer service "Debbie" (no phone number of course) and got bullshit excuses "New phone system" and "busy" and was told (via e-mail) that she'd be sending a voucher. Nope, never received. So now I have to call corporate, and somehow not be pissed, "CALM DOWN WOMAN" (was said to me 3x) When I said, "You people" she got defensive "What people?" OMG, get over yourself! "The company". I simply asked for a supervisors name and I got a lecture. SHE JUST FUCKING HANG UP ON ME AGAIN! I asked for her to check again if maybe now there was a closer vehicle. She said "I'll look" then hung up. When I called back and reiterated the conversation, she said she didn't say that. Yeah, you did. Why would I hang up WHEN I NEED A GODDAMNED CAR?? YOU SUCK. read more

Ugh, after using a taxi tonight I can certainly see why apps such as Uber and Lyft are so popular. I went out for a lunch/dinner with a long lost friend from high school. That was beyond fun, and I ended up beyond drunk. No big deal, that's why I left my car at home and took the Metro. Except, now I no longer live in Hollywood. I live up in the boonies in Porter Ranch and my connecting bus stops running at 7pm (what kind of fuckery is this?!). I found this out at 930pm. The hard way. Also my phone died (but thanks to some kind strangers at Pierce College they let me use their phone and googled a taxi number for me). The driver was kind enough, but Pierce College to Porter Ranch drive / Rinaldi ended up costing me close to $30 + tip. Yeowch. I spent more on my taxi then I did on drinks today. And I had 6 freaking drinks. No bueno. read more

I normally restrain myself from giving any negative reviews, but this time have to. Never ever book United Taxi. I booked the Taxi on wednesday morning for Friday 4:15 AM saying I have lot of luggage and have to reach airport on time At 3:45 AM on Friday I call them, they say they are still looking for Driver nearby. After multiple calls and follow ups at 4:18 AM they call me saying they have no availability Does it make sense at all, when I booked 2 days back It's their duty and responsibility to have availability. I know how I made it airport with luggage. Irresponsible, disgusting service read more

I highly recommend United Taxi for any rides needed in the Santa Barbara and surrounding area. We were vacationing in Santa Barbara and opted to not rent a vehicle. This was a great choice as Graeme and his United Taxi took care is us. From the beach, to Lotusland to Ventura so we could catch a ferry. All drivers wet in time and friendly. No worry and no stress involved. Thank you so much for making our trip easy. read more

Reliable enough that they actually send a taxi (unlike Yellow Cab where it's a gamble whether the taxi will show up or not!). I've used United Taxi for maybe 4 months now. Last time I used them was today. 75% of the time the drivers are okay to pretty good. 25% of the time so annoying and rude, but gets me from point A to point B. Today the driver was friendly enough, not too much of a talker which is fine with me. read more

The WORST experience ever! I used United Taxi pretty frequently over the last couple / few years but recently I've noticed that I don't reach a dispatcher any more - it appears to be an outsourced call center (sounds like India). Generally, reaching out to customer service in another country isn't that big of a deal but when you're talking about a local cab company / local streets / addresses, etc. it IS a big deal. I had to reach a supervisor urgently today and was intentionally hung up on by "Operator 91" repeatedly. Completely unprofessional, disrespectful and rude. The outsourced call center reps were so incredibly unhelpful today that I literally will never use United Taxi again. Back to Uber! PS I finally managed to reach a manager using (213) 483-7600, despite being disconnected by the India-based call center rep, "Operator 91" over 10 times (not an exaggeration) when calling (800) 822-8294 or (818) 780-1234. Hector (in Los Angeles) was so helpful re my emergency (mobile phone left in the cab) and saved the day. He continued to follow-up with me and arranged for my phone to be delivered via taxi (OK - it was $40 but still, I really appreciated his help and consideration). I get the impression that he may be one of the few original United Taxi staff that were kept when they decided to sack everyone else and out-source to an overseas call center. read more

Worst Taxi Driver EVER! Too bad that a ZERO isn't an option. Had the worst taxi ride ever with a United Taxi driver of San Fernando Valley today from LAX to Manhattan Beach. At approximately 2:30 PM today (August 14) at the Tom Bradley terminal at LAX we unfortunately got into United Cab #974 from LAX to Manhattan Beach. The driver was extremely upset that he was only taking us to Manhattan Beach. He was cursing, swerving in and out of traffic, speeding and passing cars in restricted passing lanes, talking to himself and being an all around unprofessional. The rudest and most offensive taxi cab driver that I have ever encountered. I've used taxi services around the world and this was an all time low.We will avoid taxis and drivers at LAX from United Taxi in the future -- never again. No wonder everyone is using LYFT and UBER. read more

I used a United Taxi today in the San Fernando Valley. When I phoned in, the attendant was polite and communicated clearly. The taxi arrived promptly. The car was clean and the driver very personable. The whole experience was positive. This is the first Yelp review that I have ever done, and I was motivated to do it based on the negative reviews that I read and because my two other recent experiences with United were also positive--the first being a ride home from the Van Nuys Flyaway terminal and the second an on-line scheduled ride from my home in Sherman Oaks to LAX. read more

This taxi service is SO unprofessional!!! I asked for a cab by 430PM and he got here but my pax had not landed back at the airport yet so I asked the dispatcher who called me to let me know that he was there to wait for them, it would be a few minutes. I was hung up on... Driver came to the door and was told the same thing by one of our employees. When I got the second call alerting us that he was there I stated they just landed should be walking out any minute and the was told no problem but then the driver took off without my pax. I called to make a complaint about the situation and was told the driver let because he had waited to long. I tried to explain to her what happened but got so frustrated I let her know that I will ask our company to no longer use there service and I hung up. If you run a business DO NOT use this company!!! I'd give them no stars if I could. Absolutely f*ck*ng useless. "We'll have someone there in 5-10 minutes" turns into 30 minutes, excuses, complete ineptitude, feigned ignorance and lies. I eventually gave up waiting for my taxi after 45 minutes in the blazing sun, 2 phonecalls trying to get some damn service from them and the slow, dawning realization that it would be faster and less stressful to get the bus home, despite the fact I had several heavy bags. This isn't the first time they have let me down; the only other time I called them I ended up waiting for TWO AND A HALF HOURS for my quoted "15 minutes", and it took 2 calls from me and 2 from my worried boyfriend before they finally turned up, drove slowly past me who was frantically waving at them shouting "over here" and then made parking into a 5 minute exercise in stalling and grinding. I won't even go into the actual fare for a 2 mile journey but it was laughable, as was the desperate and overt hinting at a tip being required. That stopped pretty damn quick when my (built) boyfriend appeared to help me out of the cab. I figured I'd give them another chance today even after that, mainly because they seemed to be the best of a bad bunch of taxi companies serving the area, and no service is perfect, off days happen and I guess that wishful thinking had me hoping they would have learned a lesson. Not so, it seems they have their customers by the b*lls and can get away with a p*sspoor level of service. They won't be getting a third chance from me. Some advice: Stop lying: if it will be 30-40 mins to get a cab to a customer, then TELL THEM that. You might lose customers who are in a hurry, but you will keep many more with honesty & a reliable service, even if it does take more than the "5-10" you so often want to quote. I guess that's what you think "people want to hear"? No, I'm a "people" and I am not stupid. I want the truth- I realize I might have to wait, but I'd rather wait and know I'll get picked up than not know what the f*ck is going on. I could have gone to a nearby cafe and sat down. 5 mins, in my mind="better wait visibly so I don't miss my taxi". "we'll be 40 mins"="oh great, I have time to go grab a coffee" I'd like to think this joke of a cab company care what their customers think and my review would make a difference but, it probably won't. read more

Awful. This company picked myself and 3 others up from LAX. I checked their driver number and it was based out of Van Nuys. Since I had 3 people with me and 4 suitcases, it was just easier to be in the taxi queue vs. taking a shuttle to an area hotel and calling an Uber/Lyft. Upon pick up at LAX, I asked the driver if he accepts Visa. He said yes, but he prefered cash. Well, I don't have cash, is this an issue? He grunted. Driver loads the bags in the minivan, gets in the stinky cigarette smelling van, and announces "Okay! I'm here.". With his hands up and a major attitude. This was his classless way of asking for an address or directions. If you hate your job so much, then quit, don't take it out on your paying customers. I state our location (45 minsin traffic) to West Hollywood/Beverly Hills area with two drop offs. After dropping us off, he yells "THANKS ALOT GUYS FOR THE TIP". 1. The bill was over $50 2. There was no tip line item option on the cc terminal 3. I stated we have no cash upon pick up It's been two weeks and I'm still pissed off by the attitude this taxi driver has. NEVER AGAIN WILL I TAKE A GREEN MINI VAN UNITED TAXI = I verified this driver was from this Van Nuys office before writing this review. Hey United Taxi - it's no wonder Uber and Lyft are taking away from your business. Your drivers are rude and have no class. It's not my problem your antiquated systems do not allow for a tip option when paying with a credit card. read more

Use Uber. I was leaving the Sherman Oaks hospital and I had my phone in my hand going to the Uber app when a taxi pulled up at the ER. I closed my app and took the taxi to the CVS a mile away. It was exactly a mile. I googled map it later. We hit no lights and when we arrived he said, "ten dollars." The meter wasn't working. "Is it really ten bucks" I asked. "It's more like 8 to 9." I handed him my debit card and swiped it, while I wrote down his employee number. He hand me my receipt and card. I got out of the taxi and he drove away. I checked my receipt $10.00. I had a job interview and instead of taking the bus, I decided to call a cab to ensure I wouldn't be late. Called a cab, asked particularly if they served my area (Northridge) to go to the mall I wanted to go to (about 15-25 min away, depending on traffic), I asked specifically how long it would take to arrive (I was told 5-15 min), they asked if I was in a house or apartment or business (I said house), AND the woman I spoke with repeated my phone number and address back to me CORRECTLY (so I know they didn't take my number and address down wrong). After waiting about 15 min, I started getting a bit nervous, because I hadn't received a call saying they were close or even running late. After 30 min, I was very worried because my interview was in about 30 more minutes. After about 40 minutes I called the number again and they told me my cab already came to my house and left because they couldn't contact me???? My living room windows face the street, and whenever a car parks in front of the house or in the driveway our dog barks like crazy!!!! I was waiting, eager and excited for my interview!!!! I had to call the company I was interviewing at to reschedule 10 MINUTES BEFORE I HAD TO INTERVIEW BECAUSE I HADNT LEFT MY HOUSE YET. A cab came right after I got off the phone about my interview (about 45 minutes later). I told the cab driver I was not going to use their service because he came 45 min after I initially called. He told me he called me twice!! I told him I did not recieve any phone calls and I was waiting watching out the window for the them to come (why would I try to sabatoge my own job opportunity??). I was not rude but I was firm. I told him I'm sorry for the trouble, but I missed my job so I was in no need of the cab. I went back into my house and he sat outside for a good 15 minutes (making my dog go nuts). This is the first negative yelp review I have written. I hate writing negative reviews, but there was no reason for them to have done this. If they were late or didn't have a cab available they could have called me to inform me of the wait... They didn't have the wrong address or phone number... I just don't understand :( Be careful when using this company! If they're late call right away and find out what's up! They'll cost you your whole day. read more

I recently had to take a trip and I was flying out of Burbank Airport. Since I never need rides anywhere, I'm not signed up with Uber or lyft. After my horrible experience with United Taxi, I'll be signing-up with them now! The day before my flight, I used United Taxi's on-line reservation system. First red-flag: no email confirmation, reservation number, nothing. The next day at 6:00 a.m., I call them to make sure they have me scheduled for 8:30 that morning. Second red-flag: The girl who answered their phone sounded like she was very young and she kept asking me to re-spell my street address, city, etc. And they weren't hard! My street name is a simple one-word! So is my city. She sounded like she either had a learning disability or she was still in grade school. My 8:30 a.m. scheduled pick-up time passes. I call again at 8:35 to ask where my taxi is. A man picks up the phone this time, but with a heavy accent. I can barely understand him. He puts me on hold to talk to "dispatch." He comes back on the phone and says a driver's on his way in another 15-20 minutes. 15 minutes go by and still no driver. I call back, and the same guy answers. I shout at him "WTF, I've got a plane to catch! Where's the driver?!" He said" "I don't have any drivers in your area that want the job!" I hung-up on him in disgust and I start scrambling to find another taxi. I try Beverly Hills Cab and Yellow Cab. Their systems were automated so a live person wasn't answering to confirm whether their drivers could pick me up in time. It was hopeless. Bottom line, I had to drive myself to the airport so I wouldn't miss my flight and park in long-term parking! Now I know why everyone uses Uber and Lyft instead of these useless, moronic taxi companies! Frankly, I don't believe any positive reviews left for United Taxi. Save yourself the headache and don't even try to schedule a taxi with them. read more

This is a great taxi company if you don't mind having your personal property magically disappear from their vehicles. Almost immediately upon exiting a United taxi after a trip home from LAX, I noticed that I'd accidentally left the remote control for my car in the taxi. But, the driver had pulled out just as I noticed, so I couldn't catch him. I called United Taxi within 3 minutes to get in touch with the driver to retrieve my remote. I had the Cab # from the receipt, and the driver was reachable on the mobile phone he was yakking on while driving me home. While United's telephone operators were friendly enough, they did not get in touch with the driver throughout the remainder of his shift that evening. They said they'd speak with him and call me "right back," but of course, they never did. I called them back a few times, but they said the driver wasn't answering their messages. Then, the following morning, I was told that the driver had found my remote, but gave it to another passenger who was in his taxi after me --thinking it was hers. Of course, I have no idea if that's fact or fiction. While it was entirely my fault for leaving the key in the cab, I am angry that United failed to contact their driver and retrieve my property from their cab. I contacted United's management about this, which has categorically ignored me since. Obviously, this is not a company that cares much about customer service. read more

Oh man! Let me start off positive, our driver showed up on time. After that it went downhill. In a nutshell, it felt like a $10 cab ride ended up costing $20. The driver was not agressive at all, kept waiting for people to let him into the lanes. My husband and I saw the tab increase as time went by. He'd move forward then reverse, move forward, then reverse. Then he got on the freeway and it wasn't necessary. My husband tried to encourage him to go another route. Our driver kept muttering stuff under his breath, which sounded like "suck it" and "bobola." It was a foreign language, I don't know. Maybe it was this dude's first day. It was just such a weird vibe! Our hotel called the service for us. Now I know what cab company to avoid. read more

Horrid. Was at a friends apartment and left after they did, so they called me a can to the location and once outside the apartment I couldn't get back in. Unimpressed with the attitude of the driver. The cab arrived 15 minutes early. I wasn't given the driver contact number to make sure he knows I am coming. Strike #1. The driver gave me serious attitude about using credit card and not telling him before. There was no signage in the cab to ask that if I was using card I should inform the driver in the beginning. I was ticked. Strike 2. Then I had wait for 15 minutes for him to figure out the transaction. He blames it on the company then blame the customers for not complaining enough. Well I am complaining now. His attitude was such a turned off. Strike 3. I was actually thinking of asking for the card in the beginning because I need a regular cab driver. His loss of business. United Taxi deserves "0" stars based upon my recent experience with them. On a Friday afternoon, I ordered a taxi using their "online form". I needed the taxi for Saturday 5:00am to take me to a medical center for outpatient surgery. Within the hour on Friday afternoon, United Taxi called me to confirm my Taxi for Saturday morning at 5:00 am to take me from Granada Hills to Culver City which was a good fare for them. On Saturday morning, I went outside at 5:00 am and my taxi was not there. I gave them five minutes and called to ask where my taxi was. The woman that answered my call told me "well, it's the weekend and there are no taxis available" - she didn't care at all that my taxi wasn't there - not even an apology. I asked her why United Taxi didn't call me ahead of time to tell me they were not coming to pick me up - she never answered me! I was left stuck, with no ride and 25 miles away from my destination. I tried a couple other taxi companies, but there was a long wait. I finally had to take my own car and drive myself to my surgery appointment. This was a costly and major inconvenience, because I could not drive myself back home. Online reservation worked. Taxi arrived a little early. Safe driver. A little residual cigarette smoke order in cab. I'd recommend them.

I'm quite surprised that the reviews here are low. To be frank I hesitated calling these guys due to such poor reviews. So why did I not listen to my fellow yelpers, well I was desperate. I had already called the other guy which I won't mention "Yellow ---," and they never showed up. Actually the other guy did call me an hour after they had told me they be there in 15 mins. You snooze you lose Yeah their cabs are not the most glamourous in the business, you get none of the fancy LCD screens for entertainment. But c'mon you are only inside the vehicle briefly. I've used these guys twice in less than 24 hours and both instances they arrived within 10 mins. Maybe I was one of the lucky ones but they did get me to where I wanted to be and thats all that matters. I was not hassled for extra tip, nor was I fooled into detouring the long way. Overall pretty good service which I will use in the future for my next late night escapade. Thanks for being my DD, hopefully I'll remember the company's name. read more

DO NOT use this company! I called for a cab from my apartment to the Flyaway. I was told 5-15 min. Even got a text message saying a car was on its way. 30 minutes later and still no cab! So I would wait another 5-15 minutes for that company?!?! At this point, I had already missed 2 Flyaway shuttles. Worst taxi company ever! Made a reservation online for a van at 8pm. 8pm comes and goes. I call and they tell me...oh well someone should've told you that vans are limited and may not be available. Meanwhile I'm on hold the entire time after demanding to speak to a manager. So basically they didn't want to hear what I had to say and didn't give a damn about customer service and making us almost miss our flight. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
