This review is specifically about Jamerica Fleming who works here not the location. She was more than helpful. Over the phone, not only was she well mannered but made sure the problem with my package got resolved. My opinion on this location and USPS is a different story. This location has very hard working individuals but unfortunately can tell are extremely understaffed and a result there is a service issue that comes to play with that. I've never had a single one of my calls answered except the call I made to Jamerica Fleming at this location. She left me a voice mail originally and then answered my call back instantly, she then got straight to helping me. She is a rockstar and I'm very grateful my issue got resolved by her of all people. God bless Jamerica Fleming for her service. And I hope this location receives the funding and staffing they need to operate correctly! read more

Wish they have more staff because the line be all the way out the door. Not enough people to get the line done only be two or three workers here . I wish they could try do better on having more staff . We wait long time they done even have chairs for older people or people who can't stand long enough to sit down . I hope they do better the proof in the photo ps the service is good but the wait I say not so fun read more

Don't waste you time or money runnnnnnn everything is horrible from wait time to services. Its a good chance You will pay for a box and after 4 months they still can't tell you why your mail is not being forwarded. Have packages mailed but they can't tell you where they are even when people sign for them. If I wanted to be at the mail box every day I would not have gotten a po box in the first place. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE WHO EVER IS IN CHARGE MOST BE WATCHING TV ALL DAY BECAUSE THEY ARE DEFINITELY NOT WATCHING OPERATIONS. ................AND PLEASE DONT WAIT YOUR TIME CALL A NUMBER THAT HAS NEVER ANSWERED NOT ONE OF MY CALLS. Instead of P.O. BOX IT SHOULD BE P. U. ="usless." Box........... I wish they had a 0 STAR read more

The 34th Street post office in Gainesville, FL came to my rescue in locating a package that had been out for almost two months and was on its way to Mail Recovery in Atlanta where it could have been destroyed or auction off. I am so grateful to all who assisted in retrieving it this weekend. The staff is highly professional and work hard on doing a great job. read more

Great job! Nice lady. Great service. Good location. Always helpful. Never rushing. read more

Mail person was too lazy to deliver on Saturday so package that was out for delivery changed status to "customer requested package to be held at post office", it was a lie, I called location several times and no one picked up the phone, I went to post office, and package was not there, on site worker stated "it must still be on the truck", lazy, liars and incompetent, should be fired and replaced with those that want to work, wasted my time and trip there. read more

the one lady who give packages RUDE she said they have my package but I can't get it because the bin is to big then said maybe If I do a good deed I can get it read more

Quick, efficient and clerk #24 was very nice! Im from out of town and had a business drop off. The reviews are unkind and I "had" to go so after reading reviews I was wondering, but its very clean, people are busy and it only took a normal amount of time to get to front of line. Sorry I was in a hurry and didn't catch clerk #24's name, she deserves recognition for doing a good job! They both were on point with all thats going on there. People getting post office boxes, and looking for packages. Great place, convenient location! Good job ya'll! read more

United States Post Office - Right of entrance, clean & efficient! Nice large center - Post Offices Near Me - Gainesville, Florida

Places a large location for a post office. It has a pretty big parking lot and they even have places to lock up your bicycle. It is located on Southwest 34th Street so it is convenient do a lot of things including an easy on and easy off of Interstate 75. The building is clean and the service is relatively fast. All in all, I would recommend this particular post office. read more

The employees should be terminated, and replaced w/individuals who are well trained in customer service, literacy and professionalism. They are too lazy to put packages inside a lobby locker, so I've had to wait in a long line unnecessarily. This experience has happened multiple times. I've gone to pick up a package from the front counter, and the package was opened with an item missing. The sub par staff is indicative of poor insufficient management. This post office location is the worst I've ever dealt with. I won't be renewing my P.O. Box when it expires. read more

Long lines and only one person behind counter. Let's all hope mail and packages get to where they are going to.

LAZY and they don't even care!! Postal worker could not be bothered to deliver my package to a locker, labeled it under 'consumer requested hold at post office' WHICH I DID NOT REQUEST! When I called to have them fix their mistake, they couldn't be bothered to answer the phone... i called FOUR TIMES. This location is SEVERELY understaffed- there's only ever 1-2 workers manning the counter... just AWFUL. read more

Avoid if dropping off pre-labeled boxes! They make you wait in lines. Go to Millhopper or Main St PO to drop off instead (as of now). But on a good note this one has a self-serve machine (like Millhopper, but not Main St). I know the PO hates when FedEx or UPS labeled boxes are dropped off by dumb customers. But they can easily verify labels without making us wait long. read more

Called this post 17x over the corse of 2 hours to have an employee pick up and immediately hang up! I had to call the postmaster general office. DO NOT SHIP YOUR PACKAGES AT THIS LOCATION. They have now lost NINE of my packages and refuse to reimburse me. Employees are completely unhelpful and rude. read more

Charging someone $4 to tape a packing slip to a package is absolutely absurd. Gina from this location was extremely rude and condescending.

So sad that our postal service has gone down hill. I am waiting on important paperwork which I have not recieved. I check the informed mail website which says I should have recieved mail last 3 days.....hum where is my mail please read more

I don't know what gives with the Jacksonville, post office or what type of illiterate people they hire, but again a package I was supposed to get was delivered somewhere else!!!!! I'm in Florida, not Kansas City Missouri!!! What the heck is you peoples problem??? You need better help. To say I'm pissed is putting it mildly. Disgusted is more like it read more

There was an African American lady at this location with dread locks and glasses, that was in a rush, not helpful at all, when i asked her to slow down ... she replied "my line is too long" which i felt was very inconsiderate. She really needs to work on her customer service skills! read more

This location literally comprises some of the most rude supervisors at a US postal service facility. Disclaimer: I only interacted with one woman in a supervisor role, but her lack of customer service skills suggest a system-wide problem. Such a disappointing experience.. I waited 27 minutes for a supervisor to be demeaning and disrespectful to me. *awesome* No wonder UPS and FedEx are taking over the business.. read more

Never answers the phone and I've called 30 times and all went to the beeping noise telling you they didn't care to answer, and horrible customer service the second u walk in. No one is nice there. The vibe they give is, "it's not my problem so talk to someone else". read more

Terrible customer service at the desk. Lorena who works Tuesday before closing had an especially bad attitude as if she didn't want to be there. She didn't understand the policy and just told me to come back another time. read more

This is the worst post office in the US. We get our packages maybe a quarter of the time. We get "attempted delivery notices" while I've been home all day sitting on the couch. They don't even knock on the door. Just avoid any aggravation and use FedEx or UPS. read more

The post office... what to say about the postal service? I dropped in today to mail my passport off to the state department, but before sending it I thought is this really something I should send in the mail? Then I remembered the 'Hope Diamond' was successfully sent in the mail and they send so many things successfully every day that it seemed kinda ridiculous to even be questioning sending my passport. I am in this post office location fairly often and they always provide great customer service. I would like to say on this day though the service was terrific. Fast lines, friendly people, and good advice for sending important documents like say a Passport. I know I will be here again- thank you for all the help read more

These guys are great, professional, fast, and friendly! They are always helpful and I rely on them greatly for my business. Very impressed!

I came in with many packages to mail close to closing time, and they helped me quickly and kindly get them all shipped. Super nice and helpful - the best USPS location in Gainesville! read more

Ample parking, large lobby, good sized selection of supplies. I like that they have a large box drop-off in the first lobby, so if I have already purchased and printed postage, I don't have to wait in line. The postal workers are not all the friendliest in the world, but I'm not here for service with a smile, I'm here to mail something that won't fit in a dropbox by the road. :) read more

As someone who regularly buys and sells on ebay, coming to this place is a nightmare. There are never enough employees to help and even when there are, they are slow as hell. I try to use the self service kiosk as much as possible (it is truly a godsend) but about 30% of the time it is out of commission. read more

Absolutely terrible place. They don't answer their phone at all, never have any workers or a sense of urgency when there is a line. Have been there with a line out the door with one person at the counter, while 4 employees visibly were hanging out in the back and not batting an eye. A terrible place that everybody is unfortunately forced to go to for mail service. read more

So I love the employees here. I sell things online so I'm constantly here sending things. They NEVER have enough help, that's not their problem and the lines would go a hell of a lot faster if people were prepared before they get here, rather than waiting till they get to the employee to have them take their package, package their package, everything you can do on your own. So there is nothing wrong with the people here at all, whatsoever. It is literally the customers who are rude and inconsiderate of the rest of the people waiting. So excellent location! Shitty customers, which is typically the situation ‍ read more

This place reminded me why I consider the USPS an absolute last resort to mail packages. I had to mail a few things after work and came in with the addresses neatly written down figuring that they would put the info into the computer for a label like every other shipping service... wrong! After waiting in line I was directed to get out of line to write the addresses on the envelopes, so I did. Then when I told the associate I needed one of them overnighted, that requires a special envelope and you have to write the address on a form, so I wrote it out for the third time. I got back up to the counter to be told "the cutoff for overnight shipping is 5:45, its 5:48." Far and away the worst customer service I've experienced in years. Next time I'll plan my day better so I can ship through a company like FedEx that lives in the 21st century instead of the 19th. read more

This dark and out of date location always gives me shivers! Too many customers and very few mail service employees. Especially during Covid time I have witnessed more than enough people waiting to be served. They should have many more locations to compensate for the increase mail volume and city growth! read more

Impossibly horrible. Mailed a package and they updated my address to the one I mailed the package to. Now my mail is going to that location instead. Another time had them replace our mail key and we couldn't receive mail for over a month even after receiving the new keys bc of issues they caused. Received our tax forms extremely late because of this. Would literally rather die than have anyone here do the simplest task. They're also extremely rude and rush you out at the cost of making stupid mistakes like these. Oh also- you can't call them. Dial tone and no answer no matter what day, time, or how many times you call them. I suggest you go literally anywhere else and avoid this place like the plague. read more

BTW, I heard back from them a couple of weeks ago. A supervisor at this location (wish I had gotten her name) and she was able to confirm (at different points in the conversation): - That they did not have my package at that location. - That it was already delivered to the old address (it was not) - That it wasn't delivered (contradicting above statement), but instead forwarded. - That she couldn't call herself or give me a number to call the facility (in Tampa!?) that handles their forwarded mail. She refused to admit that they had lost my package, but insisted I was in a "Wait and See" situation. I will gladly offer my support to any candidate with a plan to somehow fix this horribly broken thing called the U.S. Post Office. read more

They absolutely do not ever answer the phone. They do not send out redeliveries even when you order them from the website. I have called several different days, several different times, over and over and get the canned busy message every single time. I am trying to reach them about a very important matter and there is no way to. I had a package that was at their facility and I needed to have it redelivered to an apartment before it was sent across the country mistakenly. I ordered the redelivery through their website; they never did it. I rescheduled the redelivery, they still never did it. I have no idea where the package is to this day. I can't reach them in any way, shape, or form. Absolutely unacceptable and downright unprofessional. read more

Absolutely amazed, sent bubble paper envelope from Cape Canaveral to Gainesville, FL. Spent First Class $2.32 on 1/7 and Delivered on 1/15 . Found out that this is normal and standard procedure in Gainesville. Plus unable to reach anyone to discuss, since this package was contact lenses and was concerned about delivery. Question: what has 800K employees , most making 3X minimum wage plus full benefits, and work is less arduous than fast foods, and don't forget lose 8 billion dollars a year. read more

Its always so busy here so prepare to wait! You can save money if you bring your own box and tape.

This review is not for their mailing services, but moreso their customer service. I was attempting to call this site to follow up on a package slip left in my mailbox and not only was the automated system frustrating to work with - it didn't recognize my request - but when I was finally "transferred" into waiting for a person to speak to, I was subjected to a increasingly longer hold time. I have been on this call for almost an hour and have not spoken to a single person. For a 5 minute question! I would recommend just going straight to the office if you have a question and waste your time and gas trying to get an answer that way then even attempting to bother calling them directly, which is what I'm about to do. ** called at 9AM while at work, attempting to solve the question before taking a break to go directly to the site ** read more
