The employees should be terminated, and replaced w/individuals who are well trained in customer service, literacy and professionalism. They are too lazy to put packages inside a lobby locker, so I've had to wait in a long line unnecessarily. This experience has happened multiple times. I've gone to pick up a package from the front counter, and the package was opened with an item missing. The sub par staff is indicative of poor insufficient management. Quick, efficient and clerk #24 was very nice! Im from out of town and had a business drop off. The reviews are unkind and I "had" to go so after reading reviews I was wondering, but its very clean, people are busy and it only took a normal amount of time to get to front of line. When I called to have them fix their mistake, they couldn't be bothered to answer the phone... i called FOUR TIMES. Places a large location for a post office. It has a pretty big parking lot and they even have places to lock up your bicycle. It is located on Southwest 34th Street so it is convenient do a lot of things including an easy on and easy off of Interstate 75. The building is clean and the service is relatively fast. All in all, I would recommend this particular post office. read more

Avoid if dropping off pre-labeled boxes! They make you wait in lines. Go to Millhopper or Main St PO to drop off instead (as of now). But on a good note this one has a self-serve machine (like Millhopper, but not Main St). I know the PO hates when FedEx or UPS labeled boxes are dropped off by dumb customers. But they can easily verify labels without making us wait long. read more

Disclaimer: I only interacted with one woman in a supervisor role, but her lack of customer service skills suggest a system-wide problem. Such a disappointing experience.. This is the worst post office in the US. We get our packages maybe a quarter of the time. We get "attempted delivery notices" while I've been home all day sitting on the couch. They don't even knock on the door. Just avoid any aggravation and use FedEx or UPS. read more

I dropped in today to mail my passport off to the state department, but before sending it I thought is this really something I should send in the mail? Then I remembered the 'Hope Diamond' was successfully sent in the mail and they send so many things successfully every day that it seemed kinda ridiculous to even be questioning sending my passport. I am in this post office location fairly often and they always provide great customer service. I would like to say on this day though the service was terrific. I like that they have a large box drop-off in the first lobby, so if I have already purchased and printed postage, I don't have to wait in line. This place reminded me why I consider the USPS an absolute last resort to mail packages. I had to mail a few things after work and came in with the addresses neatly written down figuring that they would put the info into the computer for a label like every other shipping service... wrong! After waiting in line I was directed to get out of line to write the addresses on the envelopes, so I did. Then when I told the associate I needed one of them overnighted, that requires a special envelope and you have to write the address on a form, so I wrote it out for the third time. I got back up to the counter to be told "the cutoff for overnight shipping is 5:45, its 5:48." Far and away the worst customer service I've experienced in years. Next time I'll plan my day better so I can ship through a company like FedEx that lives in the 21st century instead of the 19th. read more

Impossibly horrible. Mailed a package and they updated my address to the one I mailed the package to. Now my mail is going to that location instead. Another time had them replace our mail key and we couldn't receive mail for over a month even after receiving the new keys bc of issues they caused. Received our tax forms extremely late because of this. Would literally rather die than have anyone here do the simplest task. They're also extremely rude and rush you out at the cost of making stupid mistakes like these. Oh also- you can't call them. A supervisor at this location (wish I had gotten her name) and she was able to confirm (at different points in the conversation): - That they did not have my package at that location. - That it was already delivered to the old address (it was not) - That it wasn't delivered (contradicting above statement), but instead forwarded. - That she couldn't call herself or give me a number to call the facility (in Tampa!?) that handles their forwarded mail. She refused to admit that they had lost my package, but insisted I was in a "Wait and See" situation. They absolutely do not ever answer the phone. They do not send out redeliveries even when you order them from the website. I have called several different days, several different times, over and over and get the canned busy message every single time. I am trying to reach them about a very important matter and there is no way to. I had a package that was at their facility and I needed to have it redelivered to an apartment before it was sent across the country mistakenly. I ordered the redelivery through their website; they never did it. I rescheduled the redelivery, they still never did it. I have no idea where the package is to this day. Absolutely amazed, sent bubble paper envelope from Cape Canaveral to Gainesville, FL. Spent First Class $2.32 on 1/7 and Delivered on 1/15 . Found out that this is normal and standard procedure in Gainesville. Plus unable to reach anyone to discuss, since this package was contact lenses and was concerned about delivery. I was attempting to call this site to follow up on a package slip left in my mailbox and not only was the automated system frustrating to work with - it didn't recognize my request - but when I was finally "transferred" into waiting for a person to speak to, I was subjected to a increasingly longer hold time. I have been on this call for almost an hour and have not spoken to a single person. For a 5 minute question! I ship for a living and I've literally been at this post office 5 days a week for the past three years. This place has a few really nice employees which is the only reason they didn't get one star. The line are long the speed at which the staff moves customers is slow (with few exceptions) and the vast majority of postal employees treat the customers very poorly. I long for the day when the automated kiosks take over for these postal workers. Note if you're dropping off large orders for a business and don't need your packages scanned in Gainesville you can skip the counter and drop off at the back dock (at least thats the rule this week, rules change all the time). read more
