I'm talking about tax documents, refund checks, medication and packages. Employees have received my tracking numbers on 3 different occasions. They have told me that the packages are in the office but they can't get to them because of all of the mail piling up blocking access. So it's a long, unfortunate 'waiting game'. I requested information on PO Boxes and was told that all mail, no matter where it goes must first be sorted by USPS and that because of Covid and excessive absenteeism, there is NO ONE available to do this. They also stated that they can't really keep employees. Stood in line for 3 hours and 44 minutes only to leave with a bunch of excuses and NO mail. So... here's the pleasant surprise part: the manager found someone in back to follow the guy home and deliver that piece of mail directly to his sister. Now there are different carriers and the service varies widely depending on who is delivering that day. I've had packages left halfway up my steps in full view of passerby. If my neighbor hadn't witnessed the delivery and taken my package into his home, it would have been stolen. I've also had packages scanned as delivered (I know this because I use tracking via Amazon), but the package wasn't actually delivered until days later. I've had packages left by my door when I was home and the carrier didn't bother to ring my doorbell. When I am home and receive mail, I notice that most of the carriers are on personal cell phone calls while they're delivering mail. In addition to being inappropriate, this is also a dangerous practice because mail carriers are sometimes robbed on their routes. I think that a carrier would want to be alert and aware of their surroundings while delivering mail in my neighborhood. Today I answered my door and a very nice carrier handed me a package that according to USPS and Amazon's tracking was delivered on 3/12. Today is 4/2! I have the suspicion that another carrier scanned the package as delivered in order to meet the Amazon Prime 2nd day delivery guarantee and intended to either deliver the package the next day or perhaps not at all.
