I don't know about anyone else's experience, but today I came in and met a front desk clerk named Danzel that had the most amazing attitude and personality I've experienced from a government employee in quite some time. He greeted every customer with a big smile and lots of energy. He made everyone smile and emitted tons of positivity. Had good conversation while working the line down single-handedly. I haven't had any issues with this particular location. I've gone there multiple times. The same guy has always been there and he is consistently friendly and has great energy. It also helps that he's good at his job and multitasking. The times I have gone he is the only one at the register but he keeps things moving. I never really have to wait long. The location doesn't have the blue line divider that the other locations have but it's still okay. Shipping supplies here are minimal as well. The store is located in a shopping plaza there is always enough parking. I don't know if every usps location charges the same prices and it may be all in my head but I feel like the shipping prices here are slightly higher than if I were to go to another location. Either way I'll continue to go here because of the friendly and quick service. read more

This particular location may be hard to find. I've never seen a post office right next door to Publix/Kroger. Honestly, that's pretty convenient though. Yet easy to drive past if you're looking for a stand alone building. Parking is sufficient. No long lines. I was maybe inside for 10 mins with 3 people ahead. Customer service is great. There's a special Black man named Danzel, he's super positive. Makes jokes. Tells everyone at the end of service, "Have a glorious day!" I'd go there again for my mail needs. read more

I went to mail a package there today. The lobby is accessible but the service desk is not. Evidently the service desk has been closed permanently. Someone needs to put a sign on the service desk door saying that it is shut down. That way a patron would not go back thinking it would be open later that day. I hate that this Post Office is so convenient to my location. It sucks. I'm not here to discuss the motivation of government employees or the demographics of this part of town; what I can tell you is that the service in this office is indicative of why local businesses are dying left and right. First complaint: They don't have a mail kiosk where you can do it yourself, so as to avoid having to deal with the employees. This is the only location I've ever seen without one. Second complaint: The place is filthy. The floors look like they haven't been cleaned since it opened and I feel like I've walked into the queue for entry at a prison. Third complaint: OK, I lied; USPS employees are horrible at customer service. The woman behind the counter (the only employee of three I saw who was actually working) thought that catching up with her friends was more important than helping me mail my package. She was chatting, not working, while I was in line for 5 minutes before she even acknowledged I was there. This is the only time I've gone in there when I didn't have to wait at least 15 minutes in line, but that's because there was only one person in front of me. At the east Cobb location, there are always 10 people in front of me, but they've got a kiosk. Never going back. read more

Postal workers with common courtesy On the day I visited this post office I got a, b, and c. I bought a few goodies while visiting Atlanta and needed to ship them home because I didn't want to check my luggage. This post office had everything organized and since I knew what I wanted it was easy for me to grab and pack. Note: don't pay post office prices for bubble wrap or tape. There's a Dollar Tree down the road and I bought bubble wrap and Scotch packing tape for $3. The post office charges $3 and some change for tape alone! At any rate, I was greeted by a postal worker and there was only one other person in line. As I was packing up my junk another person came in and guess what?!!! ANOTHER employee actually walked from the back to help the other person. Isn't it an unspoken rule at government establishments to let the line grow to 20 people deep and only have one person assisting said people?!!! I was in and out within 5 minutes. This post office is incompetent. Our office (100+ employees) moved from Peachtree Center Building One to Building Ten. Correctly address mail to the new building/floor gets routed to the old building and returned to sender. EVERY DAY! It happens regularly. It's ridiculous that the Post Office can't get it to our new building. WE'VE BEEN HERE FOUR MONTHS! The Post Office should be privatized so we would be able to allow the market encourage excellent. And get rid of employee incompetence. read more

The gentleman that works in here is so amazing every time you walk in he says have a GLORIOUS DAY! No matter what rain or shine his energy is so delightful and encouraging. Stopped in this PO Saturday (12/22/18) to mail a few last minute items around 2:30pm (they closed at 5pm) and, with about eight people in front of me, spent the next hour, plus, watching the two counter guys do a classic slow down that rivaled any I have experienced to date in my life. The two had complications with every single customer, the one with the beard disappeared for two 15 and 20 minutes breaks and the other actually took a stack of about 20 card envelopes and stamped each one individually. I stopped in today at 12:30 to speak with the supervisor only to be confronted with the fact that they closed early even though the website lists 8:30am-6pm. Certainly understand early closing today but not that early given most surrounding businesses are open till mid-afternoon And the Saturday experience was enough to leave me with an aversion to using this location in the future. Also filing a formal complaint via the website in an effort to alleviate others' similar experiences. read more

Due to the nature of my job, and dependent upon my travel schedule, I have spent the last several years, physically going to Post Offices across Georgia, 2-3 times a week, to mail in certain necessary work forms. Going into a new post office is kind of like opening that last present on Christmas Day ,which does not have a nametag...it can look really good from from the outside, but you never know what you are going to find on the inside... As post offices go, this has become my favorite post office to frequent. With budgetary constraints, I can imagine that the post office cannot be a fun place to be these days, but the staff is always friendly and patient, and because I am in here so frequently, my transactions have become pretty seamless( be nice to them, they will be nice to you!). This location is somewhat hidden within a shopping center (it is to the left of Publix), so you really have to look for it. It is also only open, M-F, 9am-5pm (bummer, no weekends.) I have asked if they will ever install a self-service kiosk in the lobby, and that answer would be... "no." It is sparse in color on the inside ... I would love to show up unannounced ,with a can of primary color paint and brush in hand, but you can only do so much with posters advertising the latest and greatest in future stamp releases. It is relatively clean and the shelves are always organized. Go... be nice to your local federal employees :) read more

They not only don't care about your business, they're really not happy you're bothering them. The place is filthy (look at the years of grime built up on floor and baseboards). The staff is rude and disorganized. This post office is a perfect example of why the USPS is struggling to stay afloat. Here's an example: Today I went to mail a package. One person is working the counter, with a line of people that fill the room. After mailing my package, I went and checked my post office box. What's this? They had a cardboard thing blocking up their end of the box -- you know, the thing they put in there when your box is not to be used. So I then had to go back inside. I waited off to the side and asked Ms. Grier for a manager. She hollered back to someone. And I waited. And waited. I told Ms. Grier that I was on my lunch break and could she please call the manager up to the front. She replied "she knows. She's sitting right there" as she motioned to some place just around the corner that I couldn't see. I continued to wait. I asked Ms. Grier again, and she said "she heard me." I replied that I'd actually like some help rather than to just have her hear that I need help. The next customer who had seen me waiting forever asked Ms. Grier to help me first. She said "she's waiting for a manager." I said that maybe she could help me, and I explained that my post office box was blocked. She replied "you probably didn't pay your rent." Nice. I told her that of course I did, that I paid it online and that I have a receipt for it at home and that it would be a little odd that the box was just closed in late August if the rent were due in June and never paid. At this point, Ms. Roberts, the apparent manager, wandered up. She looked me up, found that yes, indeed, I had paid my rent. I asked her how long the box has been closed because I don't check my mail every day and where the mail is. She told me it's probably been returned to sender. She said she's reopened the box. I asked her why it was ever closed and reminded her that I'm actually paying for this p.o. box rental. She said she'll have to talk to the clerk. She did take down my phone number. I'm not holding my breath that I'll get a call about it. What a mess. You know, the USPS may be the cheapest way to rent a mailbox and mail things, but today I wondered why, on principle, I'm giving these people my money. Courtesy and good customer service matters to me. Getting a service I paid for matters to me. I'm looking for other options. And frankly, I hope the USPS goes out of business. The private carriers that would open and competition that would ensue would be a very good thing for both customers and the country. read more

Over the past three and a half years I have written a total of nine five star reviews. This week I wrote three. I really must be getting soft in my old age (that's what she said) but thankfully we have plenty of government run organizations to remind me not to give too many high marks. The post office is not a place where many good things ever happen. In 2010 UPS made a profit of about $3.5 billion with total revenue of $49.5 billion and Federal Express made a profit of about $1.2 billion with total revenue of $34.7 billion. The US Post Service lost $8.5 billion yet had a total revenue of $67 billion. Yeah the government sucks at running things. I have to give this specific post office some credit though mainly because it is not a gaping maw of death like the one located on West Peachtree in midtown. It is rarely busy. I attribute that mainly to the fact that it is not its own building, it is just in a shopping center next to a Publix. People probably do not notice it if they do not live close by. The workers are you typical government no smiles on a good day bad attitude on a bad day but the line seems to rarely be that long. I personally have had no issues with the workers here, but I have learned over the years to always complete any forms and paperwork before going to a post office. One time at a different post office I filled out the international declaration forms online and printed them. You would think I was handing them documents written in hieroglyphs based on their reaction. I started to question whether or not they even knew they had a website. This place does lose marks though based on the fact that it is always dirty, has no auto mailer or even a stamp machine! That means after hours I have to venture farther away and I am really lazy. read more

On Friday Dec. 16, I mailed two large boxes from El Paso, TX. to my son residing at area code 30328. The tracking information stated that the boxes were delivered on Dec. 20 at 11:12 am, in or/at the mailbox! That means when he scanned the boxes he pushed the number one option- left in or/at mailbox! The mailbox is about 25 yards from the front door, that means the carrier left the two large boxes wrapped in Christmas paper, on the side of the road!!!!!! This is very unprofessional and unacceptable service!! Who ever this carrier is he/she is LAZY/SLOPPY and needs to be fired!!! My husband is a mail carrier and he would never ever leave a box by the mailbox on the side of the street, available for anyone to pass by and pick up. He always selects the number two option on the scanner, leaving the box at the front door, that's what efficient and responsible mail carriers do! Luckily my son lives in a very good and respectful neighborhood and found the boxes that evening when they arrived home.
