My mom loves white merlot. (Not really sure why -- it's just her thing.) So when she said she wanted some for our family's Thanksgiving dinner, I knew I needed to pick some up. United Liquor was on the way, and happily, the clerks were quick to help me find this bottle among the many they have for sale. They reached out to me to see if I needed help and were immediately able to tell me where I could find this bottle. Overall, I was impressed with their customer service. I also picked up another bottle of wine for the folks who may not be into white merlot. Can't speak to how expensive their bourbon is, which is mentioned in other reviews. But the wine seemed to be decently priced. This shop also packs in lots of bottles. Don't be turned off because it looks smaller from the outside. Before you buy beer here, check the production date stamped on the bottles and cans. On two occasions, I've bought craft beer here, and it's tasted terrible. Not "this isn't my style" terrible -- old and stale terrible. Checked the bottles' production dates, and they were 2-3 years old. This won't matter if you buy bourbon or scotch, and if it's wine, the bottling year is clearly displayed on the label, but it's a death sentence for beer. Stopped by last night, and checked dates on four beers I like, if I could find them. Two were older than two years; two were less than 6 months (Leffe Blonde and Golden Monkey). Appears that more well-known beers turnover more quickly and are safe to buy, but instead of returning slow movers, putting them on clearance, or throwing them out, they just let them sit until a poor sap like me eventually buys their spoiled beer. They got me twice, but it won't happen a third time. I'll go elsewhere from now on. read more

I called when I heard they had Weller 12 on the Shelf. I asked them to hold it for me and reluctantly they agreed. I started my 45-minute trek to the store. I called to make sure they still had it and that they knew I was on my way. Then they told me it was going to be $199.00 for the bottle. Now remind you this bottle only sells typically 29.95 to 40.00. I decided to continue on but then I realized I was getting ripped off so I called and let them know I wasn't coming, I thought that was kind thing to do. But before I could even tell them that I wasn't coming they told me they already sold it. Really....Not good business strategy. I wouldn't care if they had the last at bottle of pappy van Winkle.. It may seem odd to review a liquor store, but when I forget to get the liquor or wine for our dinner guests this place is my go-to because Kroger is closed at 10/11pm. Large and decent selection of liquors, wines and beers (including craft beer) and GREAT friendly service. read more

This was the worst experience with a liquor store in my life. For starters, the prices here are OUTLANDISH. However, they had something I wanted and I was willing to pay a little extra. Was watched and followed like I was going to steal, and then when I went to make my purchase, was told they needed to make a copy of my ID. When asked why, they said, "Just trust us." This place is becoming a regular stop. Nice spot with some hard to find beers at decent prices. The first time I stopped they had a few limited release beers that were sold out at the more popular spots. On a second visit the staff special ordered another drink that was hard to find for the season. They held the whole case back for 2 days until we came to pick it up. This and their nice selection of drafts for growlers makes it a 5-star spot for me. read more

I stopped in this evening to check it out and was pretty pleased. It is located where the flooring store was most recently and what was Movie Gallery a long time ago. They put in a good size beer fridge and have a good selection of beer, wine and liquor. They have about five or six taps for the growler station with some decent beers on tap. Glass is $3.00 but the beer prices were pretty average for local stores. When I asked the women working tonight what they had on the growler station she just pointed and said, "we have all these" so that was a bit of a let down but it is very convenient to the house. No more settling for crappy beer at BP for this guy when I don't feel like driving to Party Town. Welcome to Florence United Liquor! read more

If you are looking for bottles of bourbon, 100% pass on this place. It is not a liquor store, it is eBay. They jack up the price for every bottle of bourbon and beyond secondary market prices. They had a bottle of King of Kentucky priced at $1,000. The retail price on that is $200. Even the common bottles are over-priced. Had a bottle of Weller (over-priced, of course), but couldn't buy it unless you also bought a bottle of Buffalo Trace. They price gouge because they feel like they can. A joke. read more

I'm a fan of this little store. It's easier to get in and out of than Party City, it's closer to home, the beer selection is outstanding relative to the size of the store, and the owner/staff have always been friendly. It's a great, local liquor store. While I can't speak to pricing on liquor or wine, the beer prices are about $1-2 more per 4/6-pack, but if you buy two packs, you get 10% off which puts the prices in line with what I typically pay at Party City. read more
