We converted two rooms plus a hallway into a master suite as well as split two large upstairs rooms into three. We had structural concerns and lots of logistics to work out and I wouldn't trust anyone other than Mike to draw up the plans to make sure everything is safe and up to code. Al oversaw the projects and was in constant communication with us and regularly was on site to make sure everything was going smoothly. If anything wasn't 100% correct or what we had discussed, he would make sure it was remedied. Big shout out to Franz who even showed up to work the day after his wife had a baby! The M3 team worked late days and on weekends (with our consent) to meet their deadlines, even when the county held them up with permitting issues they still worked hard to finish within our timeframe. We even made major changes to our plans after construction had begun and they were able to pivot and help us get more square footage for the upstairs bedrooms. There were also numerous curveballs that they handled with ease (ya never know what you'll get with an old house). This was our first time doing any sort of large project and the team at M3 gave us plenty of guidance and support to make sure the finished product exceeded our expectations. Plus, when uncontrollable plan changes popped up, he was incredibly accommodating and offered great solutions. They truly brought our vision to life. Amazing contractor!!!…read more Lawrence and his crew did a complete renovation of our basement to build an apartment for my parents. From the design through completion, it was a great experience. I found them here on Yelp and I obtained 3 quotes for the job. I had the quotes reviewed by an independent contractor who told me L&R's quote was what the job should reasonably cost. I called 4 references who all had a similar and very positive experience. Lawrence always communicated with me about schedule which had not been the case with other contractors. They were there working on my job every day, not showing up once or twice a week like some others. Any fluctuation to schedule or budget was discussed and agreed upon by both parties. We had a couple of unexpected plumbing delays but that was due to the original build not being up to the current code. I changed direction on a couple of design decisions and Lawrence was right there with me. The work was exceptional and the end product is amazing. I have had the nightmare contractor experience so was very cautious. This was exactly as the process should be and I plan to have them back in the fall to do more work. I give them my highest recommendation!

They tore off our old exterior stairs structure and siding, waterproofed the entire wall, and installed new siding and a stairs structure that is far superior to the old one. Their integrity and work quality are off the charts. The owner, Ahmad Khreshi, did thorough research before starting our well-planned project. I was impressed by his knowledge of current construction techniques and dedication to doing the job right. There were several problems that required Ahmad to think outside of the box, one being how to install siding under our existing power lines conduit which was mounted to the exterior wall at six different points. Several times, Ahmad's crew discovered water damage due to poor work by our developer. Ahmad was extremely flexible in adding repair of that damage into his work plan on top of the bid-upon work. Ahmad was kind and fair, listened to our concerns, answered our questions, kept us in the loop, worked with us on timing, and gave us a couple breaks. His crew was extremely professional and respectful, taking off their shoes when they had to come through the building and isolating interior work areas with plastic sheet dividers. When our project was completed, Ahmad send us the following. I've never worked with a contractor who followed up with an offer of help like this: "Remember, you can always reach out with any technical building related questions, in any trades. My wife and I recently purchased a new house in Lake Ridge, Virginia and wanted to remodel the kitchen, master bathroom, and a guest bathroom. We are new to the area and have never had so much work done to a house we've owned so we did not know what to expect. We got several quotes from different contractors located in the Northern Virginia area to do the work we requested. While we felt confident in several of the contractors who provided quotes we decided to hire (Ricky Can Build It) because Ricky got straight to the point and guaranteed he would get the work completed on time and within budget. Ricky walked into each area and told us within seconds what his cost would be to renovate the space so all we needed to do was factor in the cost of materials. We couldn't be happier! The work is top notch and Ricky's team worked hard ensuring all the spaces were finished correctly. Many of the materials we selected were hard to work with but Ricky and his team detailed our kitchen and two bathrooms exactly as we hoped. My wife and I have a newborn and were not yet living in the house when the renovations were being completed but we expressed the importance of completing the work on time so when we moved in the baby's sleep and sinus track wouldn't be affected. This renovation was as much a learning experience for us as it was an opportunity to make our new house feel like home. Ricky helped my wife and I navigate the millions of choices and options pertaining to home renovations and, while sometimes overwhelming, we eventually got the kitchen, master bathroom and guest bathroom we dreamed of. When we changed our minds and decided to do more tile, he was very prompt in giving us an adjusted estimate, and we never felt like he had under-bid, we knew it was our decision. We asked him to adjust the start date for the project twice, and he accommodated, communicating very well as the date approached. On day one, Francisco spent the entire day just prepping and protecting the adjoining bedroom and traffic way. He wrapped the curtains! We thought it was a bit overkill at first, until the demolition and later the tiling started and the dust arrived! They showed up on time everyday, constantly asked for input and feedback, were very respectful with our ignorance on how a remodel went, and were patient with our energetic Labrador Retriever. There were a few hiccups when parts were the wrong size or the vanities and granite came from the factories with errors, but Ricky and the guys adjusted effortlessly. Peter, Francisco and Andreas were the regulars and we got to know them pretty well. Hard working, know their stuff, and just nice guys to just talk to. We invited them and Francisco came to our 4th of July cookout! The project turned out better than we could have imagined. We sought estimates from other contractors but we felt none of them measured up to H&C in terms of their professionalism, customer service, and attention to detail. Even from the very beginning, before we had finalized a design or signed a contract, Luis and his team's responsiveness and professionalism always made us feel as though we were a valued client. I did not have a good experience at all with this company. First, they changed project managers on…read moreme just before they came out to do that work without explanation. When the work started, they moved at a glacier pace with erratic attendance. There were days they did not show up at all, other days they would show up unexpectedly at 7am, and leave at 10am. This was never communicated with me. Next, mistakes started happening. They painted the walls the wrong color. They put up the shower door on the wrong side. They also put up the window blind backwards so I couldn't reach or use the rod to open and close it. After the shower door went up backwards, the project manager fired the workers, but the had no one to finish the work. When they finally came back to fix the shower tiles wrecked when the door went up on the wrong side, they didn't align the replacement tile patterns with each other so the pattern is disjointed and doesn't line up at all. The project manager told me it's not supposed to line up!? After complaining about it 3 times, they finally offered to replace the tiles. But they stalled on ordering them and now it's out of stock. There are also other problems - the shower faucets are not properly secured to the shower walls, the vanity light is separating from the wall and the light switch fixture is also separating from the wall. The floor tile is irregular with grout lines sometimes thick in places, other times nonexistent. Currently, they are not returning my calls or texts. I've even reached out to the owner who came out and promised to fix everything, but commented that I was overly concerned with "small" details. Now he has not returned my calls or texts about when he will come to fix things. Maybe I am concerned with details but I'd think that is common when paying 20k to have a bathroom redone according to an approved plan. At the very least, I expected that shower tile patterns would match up and that things would be well grouted or secured in shower and on walls. This was my first renovation in my first home and I'm so disappointed in how it turned out and how I was treated by the team. Also, this 2 week project took 5 and 1/2 weeks to get to where it is now. Overall the project was done carelessly with no attention to detail and with no acceptance of their mistakes and no attempt to repair the problems identified. I see they have had good reviews in the past, but my project did not go well at all. I would definitely recommend choosing another company. When I first complained they asked me not to write a bad review and I said that along as everything was fixed we had a deal. Nothing has been fixed and they are not communicating with me. I know have to either pay another company more money to fix their mistakes or take legal action to resolve the simple issues that could be easily fixed. If detail and having a project done to your liking is important I would not recommend H&C at all.
