The experience with JT Custom Builders made me wish I'd found them sooner! Not only are my bathrooms absolutely gorgeous (you can see more pics on Instagram under #cantonbathrooms), but the crew also left my house so clean every day! They protected every space on the way to the workspace and swept before leaving daily. All the subcontractors I encountered were trustworthy and courteous. Jimmy himself is incredibly honest about any issues that come up and potential solutions and I did not get the dreadful feeling that he was squeezing every penny out of me whatsoever. We needed a re-call for carpet not laying down in a doorway, and glue on carpet from a seam. Supervisor came out and cut out the glue, so can only hope now it doesn't run. He told me to use the vacuum on the highest setting. Most un-professional job I've ever had here. I wanted to go local to support our town, but I obviously chose the wrong store.

The builder laid the tile directly on plywood with an almost invisible layer of thin-set. After 6 reputable, well experienced and HONEST licensed and insured flooring specialist UNANIMOUSLY agreed that the floor was not installed professionally or correctly, you have to wonder how on earth Mr. Menzi could make his determination. With so many flooring companies to choose from, save yourself from dealing with either an extremely unethical or extremely unprofessional business.

Harvey was by far the most enthusiastic and attentive in the bidding process. He came in with the best price of the three bids, and offered the best combination of competence and price. From there, Harvey did a fantastic job walking us through the best way to achieve what we wanted (removing a peninsula that cut off the breakfast nook; converting a large, outdated pantry- that used to be used for a washer/dryer- into a coffee bar area; installing some floating shelves). Harvey also pointed us to counter and cabinet vendors that had exactly what we wanted for our new look. Even when we came up with ideas during the renovation beyond the scope of what we originally talked about, Harvey was very accommodating. The Mistival crew did a fantastic job, working as quickly as they could. When we noticed a few smaller issues during the renovation, Harvey and his crew were very fast in getting it corrected as quickly as they could, even with some supply chain issues. We cannot speak highly enough about the team of craftsmen that work for Hauptman. They are professional, personable and highly skilled individuals that gave our home many small but important custom finishes that we enjoy daily. Custom finishing and materials takes time to put into place and cannot be rushed. Hauptman has been in the business of building for decades and has solid relationships with all of the subcontractors required to build a home. This also attests to the type of builder that Hauptman is. When we had an issue post build with our fireplace, the contractor immediately came out and resolved it for us, replacing the defective part. First class service all the way. When we realized after our roof had been fully shingled that we needed a patio cover/roof for shade, Bill drew up 4 different options for us to choose from and seamlessly attached the sloped patio roof to our existing home structure. It looks like it was part of the original design and not the after thought that it was. Hauptman is a builder that values integrity in everything that they say and do. Their prices are very fair for this locale's market. Bill and team demonstrated a patience working with my needs for handicap features throughout our home and exceeded all of our expectations.
