I didn't grow up playing sports, and every time I tried something new, it only lasted a short while. My sister-in-law had been a member in Georgia for years, and when Burn finally opened in Connecticut, I signed up during a promo. I've been there ever since!!! This May, I'll be celebrating two years as a proud Burn Danbury member! The trainers are incredible. They push me, encourage me, and believe in me -- sometimes even more than I believe in myself. They know what I'm capable of and motivate me to reach it. They are my inspiration, they are my accountability partners, they are friends. The people are just as amazing. Moms like me, married couples, dads, college students, high school students, retirees -- all working hard to be a better version of themselves. We live off high fives as we move from station to station and we leave every single camp sweaty, spent, and SO happy we showed up! One of the biggest bonuses for so many of us is the free childcare included with membership. On Saturdays, my husband and I get to work out together without worrying about taking turns so someone is watching the kids. He joined a month after I did -- also not a "gym person." Now, in our 40s, we are in better shape than we've ever been. What truly sets Burn apart, though, is the community. The friendships we've built over the past two years extend beyond camp. We stay after to do "just one more" exercise challenge together, we care about each other's goals, we cheer each other on to hit personal records, we even meet up monthly to hang out and get to know each other off the gym floor.
