I like how he incorporates a variety of workouts and steers from keeping the one on one sessions from being boring. I have tried going to other trainers near my area, but I do not manage to get the same results as I see with Marcos. He knows what works for me and how to get me summer, work, and now wedding ready! Both of my kids have also trained mixed martial arts/boxing with Marcos and Whiskey since the ages of 4 and 7. Now, 16 and 13, they continue to train with private lessons when we can fit it into their "busy teenage" schedule. Not only do they learn defensive skills, but Whiskey also helps as a mentor for them. I appreciate all they do! There were days I couldn't get myself to come at all. I was carrying things I didn't have words for yet. But every time I made it through the door, it felt like people were genuinely glad I was there. The coaches and the students both. They kept reminding me that I was here to learn and grow, and that was enough. That's what brought me back on the days I almost didn't come. People look at me and see a big, strong guy. For most of my life I felt small and scared, and I didn't even know it. This gym is where I finally saw that, and where I started to change it. Anthony's classes mean a lot to me. He teaches the philosophy behind the fighting, and it connects the dots to real life. It made me better on the mat and better off it. The strangest gift is this: knowing I can protect myself has made me gentler, not harder. I feel powerful in public now, like a quiet secret. But I also feel responsible, and I've never once needed to use it. Before, I was afraid and never wanted to hurt anyone. Now I'm capable, and I still never want to hurt anyone. That's a peace I didn't know was possible, and I'm eternally grateful for it. Dynamix became a sacred, safe place for me to heal and grow as a man.
