Wanna 'Rock your Body' with Justin Timberlake, you know the video with the palate of flashing…read morerainbow lighting canvassing his chiselled smile? Just transport yourself to the Lightbox for the same effect, but a less attractive collective of backing dancers. I was here for a themed 'Malice in Wonderland' fetish party called Club Rub, a night that made my work colleague belly laugh for a full 20 minutes due to that cunning alliteration. It was kinda like a softcore Torture Garden, although actually I saw some fairly hardcore 'activities' which cannot be repeated within the confines of this text box. I would say the bathrooms are cleaner than average though, and if you're lucky you may even be serenaded by compliments/gestures from a gorgeous girl or two! Cryptic enough? Job done. The room is really very cool - the lights and smoke machine give a very unique effect and the smoke filled the room which didn't make it seem quite so empty. Despite the lack of people, the music was good and the atmosphere was quite nice, so it was a fun night. The drinks were overpriced for a student night which was very disappointing. I found the bouncers very nice, not as aggro as many can be, they had a casual chat with me and my friends, weren't rude at all. What I found bizarre was that Lightbox don't allow you to take pens in. A strange thing to be upset about but I had come with a work bag which had a lot of stationary in, which had to be confiscated. A bit of a shame! Regardless, I will definitely be visiting again.

Seems like the review on this page is super outdated so I'm going to add a new voice. I'm pretty…read moresure Fire is no longer a gay club?? But I may be wrong. Its definitely more of an electronic music club venue now days. Beginning late 2012 Fire has had some amazing house & tech house DJs for their In Session nights. Other promoters and record companies also host some parties here (like UK bass, dubstep, dnb, etc). There is one main room (with amazing lasers, ceiling LED, side elevated railing space, bar in the back and an upper layer in the very back, above coat check, with couches and separate bar), and two smaller side rooms to each side with large bar and toilets. In general, its not that hot in there. The security here is always quite strict. They give you intimate pat-downs and close examinations of everything (out of your pocket and bag).

What a club! Be prepared for an all nighter if you decide to head here…read more It is a predominantly homosexual crowd and definitely a sexually liberal place! The crowd did vary throughout the night however and early hours in the morning more groups of 'Lads' appeared to begin with. We had an awesome night there recently. The house music was continuous and pumping. People were all up for a serious night of dancing. We danced for hours before we realised it was 7am! The staff and clientele were so friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to dance the night away and not get hassled by annoying men!

OK I admit I'm a stereotype, but I'm a gay dude who loves to dance in clubs with bangin' sound…read moresystems. This London gay club has just the right mixture of sexual undercurrent and outrageously good sound system. It is a gay cousin of the alien bar in the opening sequence of Star Wars, with a definitely one-of-a-kind vibe, and some characters that may or may not be human. It used to be much more in-your-face with the sex, but that's been toned down from NC-17 (bordering on X-rated) to R-rated...just the same, even now don't bring prudes here. Bizarrely enough, my straight work colleagues turned to me and said they wanted to go to an outrageously fun gay disco. So, I took them to this Vauxhall institution, and they let the female work colleagues in too, after I flirted with the bouncer. Before the night was over, they'd definitely had the aforementioned outrageous fun. The place really reminds me of another one-of-a-kind club with a sex theme dialed up to the max and a chest-vibrating sound system: Miami's E11even. The main differences are (1) this club is not 24 hours, 365 days a year like the Miami fraternal twin (opens 8PM and runs very late), and (2) there are boys wearing next to nothing gyrating, not girls. It's easy to find with GPS. Any London cabbie will know the place, and it's easy to get to by subway. For logistics, just remember the Tube closes down fairly early by large city standards, and the cabs get a huge spike in demand when the last train departs. Thank [insert deity here] that London let Uber resume operations. The neighborhood can be slightly edgy, especially late at night, but dodge the dark archways, etc., and you should be fine. If you're a cocktail fan, this place has a great bar. The real star of the show is the truly amazing sound system with laser lights, etc. Most nights have themes, and the night we went was Horse Meat Disco night, which despite the name seems to be generally just a fun dance party with cool lighting effects. Other nights are a little more themed by body type and clothing (bears, underwears, etc). Oh one important thing: with a name like Eagle London, you might expect this to be mostly leather guys and maybe a little seedy. Instead it's sort of a radical cross-section of gay Londoners and pretty spiffy decor. I recommend the place highly.

Fun and relaxed atmosphere. My husband and I were visiting from Los Angeles and we had a great time.read more

The Pub is also located directly across from a beautiful park filled with runners, walkers and dogs. During the day, it may seem like a calm, relaxed restaurant. However, in the evening, this pub is extremely loud and rowdy. You can hear people laughing, screaming and obviously enjoying their drinks from blocks away. The staff here was great. We sat ourselves down and it wasn't long before someone took our order. The staff was very warm and welcoming. We ate here around 11:30 am the day we arrived and returned for dinner at 9pm 5 days later, to be told they stop serving food at 9pm but they're open until 11pm. We found that very strange but no big deal. We ordered the following: Coffees and a Full English breakfast. This Brekky did not disappoint. It was excellent! This breakfast had everything, eggs any style, pork & leek sausage, baked beans, a nice buttered mushroom, greens, smoked bacon, roasted tomatoes and bottomless toast. Served piping hot. We also ordered the avocado toast with coffee. Also a fabulous dish. 2 eggs over smashed avocado mixed with peas and mint on a very generous portion of sourdough bread. There is nothing like biting into a chilled, soft avocado against a nice crisp toasted slice of bread sprinkled with some sea salt and eggs. It's the perfect meal item for any occasion: breakfast, brunch, afternoon pick-me-up, or even dinner. This is one dish I'll never get sick of, as it's equally healthy and satisfying. The Black Dog is a basic rustic, local Pub for drinks that also provides delicious meals, including the Sunday Roast which I would've liked to try. Nice spit, good location and excellent food.

It was very close to an Underground stop - just a quick 5 minutes or so from the station and we decided on dinner here. It was a Friday night, so it was pretty packed. I hadn't made a reservation since I wasn't sure if we'd be able to make it and the pub staff were nice enough to find us a small little table for two. Seating is pretty limited and it felt like it was mostly locals around having a pint on a Friday night. We both ordered the fish & chips and the portions were huge! I think we should have split the entree. I thought they were good. Maybe not the best I have had but I enjoyed the fish, mushy peas and fries. Bonus, they asked if we wanted ketchup which doesn't always happen in England. I think it's fun that they have leaned in to the Taylor Swift song. They were hosting a brunch the next day for Swifties and have nods to her and the song all over the pub. I wonder if she ever visited there...or if Matty Healey really went there. We'll never know but you have to think the song definitely helped put them on the map for people visiting out of town.
