I finally came here with a large group of friends a few weeks ago, and again a few times during #SecretBrixton. I really liked the place and thought it had a great atmosphere. My first visit was on a mild afternoon. It was really relaxing with music playing and we enjoyed a few pints on the upper level about a Far East type of alley with street food outlets. There were German, Mexican, Vietnamese, Japenese selections to name a few., with further outlets set in sea containers spread and stacked around the Pop Brixton complex. The next few times I visited were in the evening for the Yelp #secretBrixton events. It was much busier, and the wetaher was not so great. This did not hinder the experience though. We donned our Yelp ponchos and just got on with enjoying ourselves. There was also a large enclosed area where dj's and bands played music throughout the evening. I really liked this venue and hope to venture back during the summer and enjoy a beer in the sun.

Weddings: I have seen Lisa's be-autiful work many times, so there was never any question that she'd be in charge of my wedding flowers. She is a pleasure to work with, and this is why: - She is more organised than I could ever be...so she helped guide me and gave awesome suggestions (with the help of pinterest) - I had a vague idea of what I thought'd look pretty, but she took my ideas and improved them until my wedding venue looked amaaazing. Her flowers made the dusty old barn (wedding venue) look fresh, and smell lovely. - My bouquet (and my bridesmaid bouquets) were sooo gorgeous! - She even made a flower chandelier(!) - She loves vintage pots and glasses so her flower arrangements don't look formal or boring. I loved that! - She gets the most beautiful flowers! Seriously my light blue delphiniums and peachy pink roses were perfect. Also, she managed all this why also being a bridesmaid. This lady is a multitasking queen! Flower workshops: Recently Miss Victoria's Floral Emporium has moved to a new studio in East Dulwich, and I was lucky enough to attend one of her first floral crown making workshops. It was such a giggle! I got to make friends with a lovely group of ladies over tea and cake, and then Lisa showed us all how to make beautiful headdresses. Our workshop yesterday was a special (free) trial, but I think this would be SUCH a cool thing to do on a hen party, or a birthday...or just for fun if you have creative, flower-loving friends. The Good; The sloped floor downstairs, the surprisingly engaging seating upstairs, the large lobby, the heritage from decadent days gone by, the easy transport access, pre-gig drinking options in Brixton and Clapham, the reasonably priced tickets. The Bad Good lord, get some more bar staff! You've got more bars than I have t-shirts! A couple more of the friendly staff on each bar and cloakroom would see those queues dissipate so much quicker. My main gripe about this place. The Ugly; Well bloomin' 'eck it's in Brixton ain't it. Try not to get shot, mugged or involved in low level drugs crime on your way home yeah?

There is a car park next to the venue, however it belongs to the offices near by so park there at your own risk. It strikes me as a good venue for artists and audiences alike. The artists can perform in an environment which allows for a certain amount of intimacy. There is a bar area which has seats, so if you prefer to be near the bar and watch the show you can, however there is a glass screen between the bar area and the main floor so what you would hear I don't know. The food they serve is to cater for a wide range of tastes, fish & chips, jerk chicken (which if you are like me needs some proper spice to it) and some salads. The portion size was good and i did not feel the need for desert, although nothing took my fancy!! They had the usual variety of wines, beers, sprits along with some cocktails. The time it took to get served was ok no long waits and it was packed. Its always nice to not have to go to the bar to order your drinks so the table service was very much appreciated!! We witnessed Michelle John, who I had not seen on the Voice and she most certainly can sing!!
