Nice view of the stage from where we're sitting

Babymetal concert was held here. The queues were long-separate in between standing and seating. Plenty of stewards around to help and were friendly and efficient. Standard bag search at the door once you've been ticket scanned. Once you're in, you're welcomed with food and drink stands conveniently located close to the arena doors. We were seated upstairs. Plenty of toilets. There is a no bottles policy when u go in and had to pour our beers into a plastic cup for security reasons. The venue is MASSIVE. The band we saw is getting more and more support so this venue was definitely a step up from The Forum and Brixton Academy. I am a very happy bunny with my seating ticket, being able to see the band and the girls in action.

Doesn't look particularly impressive, does not have a huge capacity but it has a sole ... You can focus solely on the show or artist you are there to see. You won't be distracted by the size and outlook (like Wembley stadium). I also prefer the Wembley arena to the O2. It is smaller but I do believe it has more space for standing tickets ... I never had a issue getting a standing ticket where as at the O2 they sell out really quickly. Maybe the only negative point is that they do not have too many toilets and there is usually a que to the men's room as well ... this is anyway the part of the charm of a live concert / gig.

Visited recently to see Jeff Dunham perform. The venue itself is next to Wembley stadium and looks somewhat characterless by comparison but no matter. It's easy to get here by London Underground and entry and exit from the venue seem well organised. Food and drink prices, although at somewhat of a premium are more keenly priced that at The O2. As it so happens, the Jeff Dunham show is a very visual performance, so selling tickets to punters in blocks that are actually behind the screen is somewhat disgraceful in my opinion. No mention on the ticket or at time of booking, that it was a restricted view. Pretty poor effort in my opinion. Not sure who is responsible but somebody should prevent this happening again.

The server behind the door, a young guy with short cornrows, had a huge attitude: avoiding eye contact, muttering answers to my questions as if I was annoying him, and just being generally unpleasant. I walked away and waited for my order feeling as if I was the problem- for god forbid paying this establishment for food. I debated getting a juice as they were cheap at £3.20 but refused to give this place any more money. It also took FOREVER for my food to arrive, despite the place not being busy at all. It seemed the cooks and staff (including that horrid server) had better time joking behind the bar than working. I could imagine your food would take centuries if one came at a busy time. The roti itself was delicious: chock full of juicy prawns, chickpeas, veg and potatoes. The roti was firm enough to hold the goodies but soft to chew and delicious. Mild spice (and this is coming from someone who doesn't do spicy sadly). It's a shame the food (and the price at £7.95 for the huge roti) is so great bc the crud attitude means I would never return nor recommend anyone would. Good riddance.

Completed in 1888, the Romanesque red brick and terracotta building has been decribed as the 'Taj Mahal of North Kensington'. When the area went into decline in the 1900's it ws the centre of many slums in the area and race riots. In 1975 it closed down as a church and taken over by the local council. Demolishion plans were twarted and it was converted into the multi use community building that it is today. Joe Strummer of the Clash appeared here in the 70's and it also hosted gigs by Misty in Roots and George Melly. In 1995 it closed to be upgraded, to reopen in 1998. It is still going strong as a multi-use venue. They hold art exhibitions, concerts, dance lessons, fitness and sport activities as well as concerts. It's a great place to go for a drink or snack, and is very reasonable. It also has a full bar. I like sitting outside when the weather is nice in the large courtyard in frotn of the building. I highly recommend you visit this place, should you be in the Portabello Market area.

Nowadays we appreciate and build those bikes for the nostalgia and esthetic they bring to the table. The same can be said about Ace, it doesn't forget where it came from. The establishment feels as close as it would have back when it was originally operating. There's even a juke box in there (not sure if it works), but I doubt people still place bets if you can get to the next café before the song is over playing hahaha. The food is pretty decent, but I can only attest to the "quick bites" portion of the menu since I wasn't too hungry. I ordered the tuna sandwich with an iced coffee. They don't go well together, but I had to have coffee there! How can I go to ace café and not drink any of their coffee?! That's like saying you went to San Francisco and didn't visit the golden gate bridge. People were very kind and fun to converse with. No matter where you are the biker community is always friendly and that's what I can say about this place and their customers. They also host bike nights and events. I only wish that I could attend with a bike, but since they're stuck in the states I don't imagine that will happen any time soon. Ultimately I'm extremely happy I was able to go to the place that started café racers because those bikes are what got me into riding in the first place. I never would have thought I'd be able to visit, so you should too if you can!!

The great thing about the Ace cafe is it's open 24 hours so when you are cruising about on your bike late at night you can always call in here for a coffee and meet some kindred spirits. The Ace Cafe website has a great archive of black and white photographs from the 1940s, 50s and 60s, which i love looking at. It's all about rock and roll and bikes really.

The bar tenders were friendly, drinks were decently priced, bathrooms were clean and it was my bday at midnight and the bar tender wished me a happy bday and either she or someone bought me a shot! I go to clubs because my friends go but I prefer bars yet I don't like to just stand around, I like to dance. I don't need a designated dance floor but the Tavern was a perfect combination of all of this. The Dj this past Friday was also fantastic playing all of the greatest hits! From the exterior it feels like it should be sporting some shisha pipes and cushions. There's some good outdoor seating, half covered by canvas for those wetter but warmer days and a good space inside. This bar looks good, clean, trendy for the area yet comfortable and intimate. The bar has a good selection, Moretti by the bottle. It's main draw is its cocktail menu. Expertly tailored and exquisitely executed drinks. No doubt the bar staff are a talented lot. However, it's a place a tad on the pricey side and doesn't have many more draws. When I think night out for cocktails, I don't think Ealing. The food, by the look of the Menu looks rather nice. A good Meze selection which was rather large in portion size., however the more ambitious meals fall through. A friend had something chicken-y and it looked (and apparently tasted) foul, bit of a waste of £11. Although it's nice enough, it's just that little bit out of the way and a little bit meh to draw me back on a regular basis. However good for groups I think, and always better than it's neighbour, Wetherspoons. No contest there.

There are a few drink vendors offering a variety of options such as beer, Pimm's cups, and spritzes. Food options were a little more limited, especially in the gluten free area. They also have bar and restaurant options which are nice as well as a champagne lounge. Bathrooms are plentiful and has no issues accessing with little queue wait. Exiting following the show, it was a little frustrating because they weren't letting people use the escalators and directing people down the stairs that were a little claustrophobic and made you feel someone was going to take a tumble. But once you were out, there are plenty of routes to ensure you get to your destination... unless you are taking the Tube, which in that case, you may need to have patience. But watching shows there are great.

Plus, according to the bartender behind the counter, they're under different ownership as well. Whew. With all of that confusing business out of the way... It's worth noting that their website apparently hasn't been updated yet to reflect that they no longer have a chef here. Ergo, they no longer serve food. It's questionable whether or not they'll look to replace their chef (who departed less than a month ago at this point), so if you're looking to nip in for a nibble and a show, you'll only get half of that experience. Not to worry, there are plenty of edibles within walking distance. Similarly, this past Wednesday evening found me standing at the bar, asking if they had a cocktail menu. Bartender: Sorry, we don't have menus right now. Me: As in... you're -out- of menus? Or you don't have a cocktail menu at all? Bartender: We don't have any at all right now. They're being redone. Me: Oh. But you serve cocktails? Bartender: Not at the moment. We have various liquors... Me: How about a gin and tonic? Bartender: I can do that. Me: Great then. I'll have two. When dealing with a bar situation where they don't really serve cocktails and are having new menus worked up, it's probably best to stick to basics. And it's generally hard to mess up a G 'n' T. A simple drink, smooth jazz, and great company make for a pleasant Wednesday night. If invited out again, I'd be totally willing to give Portobello Lounge another go. However, I can't say I'd make the haul of my own volition.
