She was really helpful in getting my lower back to release tension, I felt more awake and lighter after class. My husband said it was difficult for him, but definitely necessary and he felt looser and more refreshed afterwards. She blends some of the things I might have previously viewed as "new-agey" with so much science and anatomy knowledge that I was able to silence my inner cynic and really learn the skills that have already started to improve my day to day life. Having someone work with me one on one with the poses was great, but really the thing that was game changing was the way she helped me develop strategies for incorporating yoga into my daily life. As a bartender I work long shifts on my feet, she has given me ways to stretch and breathe that I can do when I'm in the middle of a twelve hour shift that really improve the way I feel during and after long days. She taught me so much about breathing that has shifted the way I face the day, reducing anxiety and improving my mood almost immediately. And because I'm not the most flexible person (yet), she showed me modifications and stretches I could do to increase flexibility and get the same benefits of the full pose. I feel like the thing that keeps the people who need yoga the most, from getting such an amazing introduction is that most private lessons are over $100/hour. Third eye has made this package more affordable (which is amazing), but also they have exponentially increased the value of the lessons. Nicole isn't just teaching you how to do yoga poses. She's teaching you from the inside out about incorporating yoga into your life in a million different ways. You leave there feeling like the poses are the least important part, and the core of what you've learned will carry you on an amazing journey for the rest of your life. Tonight I attended my first regular group class. I was still very much a beginner, but I was confident in my practice and my core and so I left feeling positive and excited about continuing with yoga. Do yourself a favor. Treat yourself to this. You won't regret it.

The following spring I bought some private sessions through Yogaworks in downtown Brooklyn (with Gabrielle), and that experience was transformative. The sessions were all completely individualized toward my needs, rather than a standard sequence. The studio is small yet spacious for everyone to practice. Always clean and spotless! They have everything in the back storage room; yoga mats, blocks, straps and blankets. You can also leave your yoga mat there or use there mats. Every teacher at this studio is great and they know what they're doing. They also help you out in certain poses and encourage you to push yourself more. I've been doing yoga for 8 years, been to plenty of other yoga studios in the city. This little gem of a studio is my go to place because they help me to push myself beyond my limits. If you're a beginner or advanced, go here! This is the place to learn and to grow!

The event was part of Yelp Elite's celebration of Black History Month. This year's theme is Black health and wellness. Ngone read quotes at the beginning of the session--"I am grounded like my ancestors...I release all fear and doubt"--that really set the intention for our hour-long practice. It was further backed by Afrobeats that created a whole experience. It was also my first virtual yoga and the digital distance was no barrier. Her yogi skills, openness, and energy transcended space. As a student, I attended a vinyasa yoga class that Ngone taught. She is an exceptional teacher with 800 hours of yoga teacher training. She is warm, compassionate, funny and vibrant! Her class focused on alignment and specific cues while maintaining a playful vibe. I highly recommend her as a teacher. You will move, laugh and leave feeling wonderfully relaxed! I look forward to trying classes with some of the other teachers. As a teacher renting the studio, I have been pleased with the space as well as the entire booking process. Ngone and Augustine are committed to customer service and ensuring an easeful and pleasant experience. They are both so attentive in helping to meet my needs for the kids yoga class. Finally, the studio space is beautiful, clean and intimate.There is a large skylight that brightens the room with natural light and lush green plants hang from the ceiling. The hallway and lobby are adorned with unique treasures from Ngone's travels (mostly African decor). Random passersby wander into the studio since they are drawn to the space from the outside.
