Great product and staff . it's been a while since my last visit but other testimonies say the same thing.

Acted like we didn't exist. Completely ignored us when we walked in. Two people that seemed to both be employees were standing there having a conversation and didn't acknowledge us, which is fine, but they continued to stand in the way when I was shopping and didn't move to allow me to look at merchandise. I was able to crane my neck around them as they continued to talk, so I never bothered to say excuse me, but any other normal person would have realized I was obviously trying to look at things they were blocking. My wife found a trinket she wanted so we walked up to the register to pay. We waited for more than a reasonable amount of time while they completely disregarded us and continued their conversation. After a bit longer, we just put the item back and left. They never once gave any indication that they cared we were there, or even existed at all. Later my wife told me about the nasty sign out front. At first, she thought maybe it was a joke, but after seeing the way treat their customers, it seems just represents their snotty attitude. I decided to stop here to find any souvenirs from Kailua-Kona Hi because ABC has a chain of stores in Hawaii and this one did not have not one Item here. I'm so glad I did because this is a small Independent mom & pop store that carry a large variety of Kona souvenirs here, with great selections like caps, hats, clothings, shirts, mugs, magnets, also they specialize in unique Iron man equipment plus lots of gifts. This is a very cute shop with nice and friendly owner that I did have a few nice conversation with both of them, I just wish I would have shop here first. read more

Fun surf shop here in town. Some mini surf boards, surfing shirts, caps and hats and so much more. Found some vintage sweatshirts for my niece and nephew, but they are $60, rather pricey for what you get. The Gildan sweatshirts at Hobby Lobby are only $12 a piece. read more

Rude..rude...rude staff. I have never had staff in a retail position be so rude verbally. "Excuse me" was something I learned as a child...so to not receive the same courtesy as I'm trying to shop in your shop is amazing to me. The owner needs to find some employees with some patience. If I could not give them any stars, I would. The minute we walked in, the haole lady at the counter was giving us the stink eye. She ignored us the whole time we where in the store. Lady, did you forget what State you are in?! The sign out front "go spill your food/drink somewhere else" should of been a sign not to go in there. I have been to the store several times over the past 6 years when visiting the Big Island. I have purchased clothing & souvenirs. I was actually wearing a cap from the store commemorating the 40th year of Ironman. An older woman running the store kept following me around. She kept coughing & refused to wear a mask. it made me feel so uncomfortable that I left. What happen to the state mandated mask wearing for storekeepers? read more

Oh my goodness! If you need a jolt of bad energy to shock you back into reality while here on vacation, definitely make a special visit to this shop. Rude signage throughout the store. I regret buying my small purchases after seeing the passive aggressive signs and notices throughout the store. For example: The shop worker refused to make any eye contact and took a few moments to stop texting when I asked her for assistance. There are far better options out there for your souvenir needs; trust me! There is a sign out front that says to spill your food and drink elsewhere....says it all right there. read more

My boyfriend and I vacationed in Kona in early 2018. While we were there, he bought a baseball cap at Unison as a souvenir. He has a hard time finding caps that he likes and this one fit him perfectly and it immediately became his favorite to wear everywhere. After we got back home, he brought it with him on a trip and left it in a taxi by accident and he wasn't able to get it back. I reached out to Unison via email to see if they had any in stock. Ron responded quickly and said they didn't but they might receive a shipment soon and that he would let me know if they did. A short while later, he emailed me to let me know they had them back in stock. I gave him my payment information and he shipped it out to me via Priority Mail. I'm going to surprise my boyfriend with it soon and I'm sure he's going to be thrilled! Thanks, Ron! read more

We've been in Kona for 2 weeks. First rude experience. At the start, the woman/clerk/cashier/monster who was the only employee in the store glared at us from the start. My 11 year old daughter was shopping for a rash guard alone because we weren't allowed to enter the elite premises with our coffees. When ready, I told the woman we would be buying the shirt my daughter picked out. She snapped, "Good because she's been dragging it around the floor for an hour." Untrue. If I could give 0 stars, I would. My fiancé and I walked into the store, and were looking at buying some of the clothing. I had mentioned to my fiancé that I needed to use the bathroom, so he went up and asked the lady at the counter where the nearest public bathroom was. She immediately responded with some snark comment saying that they have a bathroom but he couldn't use it unless he said please really nicely (and not in the playful way you might think). My fiancé told her it was for me, and her response was "well then why the hell are YOU speaking for her" and then rudely asked me if I knew how to talk. I responded by saying "of course I can talk, he just happened to ask you first" to which she just starred at us and walked away. We WERE planning on purchasing some of the shirts they had in there, which are quite spendy compared to other places, but her rotten attitude lost that sale. Upon reading other reviews, it seems to me like she's racist (my fiancé is African American). The bitch needs to remember where she lives! Steer clear of this place! read more

This past May, we rolled into Unison Hawaii, Inc. while wandering around Kona enjoying the weather and looking for some cool t-shirt souvenirs and, maybe, some Ironman gear. We were greeted with a friendly, "ALOHA!" and asked if there was anything specific we were after. We got some great ideas and assistance and the woman, whose name I didn't get, was amazingly helpful. I left with a great shirt that my daughter bought me for an early birthday present...very excited about it! Well, wouldn't you know it, while wearing the shirt in Mexico a few weeks later, a friend spilled some red wine on it and ruined it. After our return to the states, I looked up Unison on the internet on July 16, gave them a call, and spoke with Ron, who not only found the shirt matching the description I gave him, but offered to ship it out ASAP, charging me only $5 to ship from Kona to my home in Fort Worth, Texas. The service was exceptionally friendly, fast, and I got my shirt three days later --The EXACT shirt I was looking for. These guys were amazing, both when we were in their store and when I called back to deal with them over the phone. I HIGHLY recommend them. We went into several stores there in Kona, but none were as helpful and friendly as the people at Unison. read more

I am a weekly visitor to Kona and was looking for a ball cap. I had just purchased a smoothie and came upon UNISOM. Before I even entered, I should have heeded the rude sign that was outside the door "go spill your food and drinks somewhere else!" A simple please no food or drink would have done nicely. I am a middle aged woman and had a lid on my smoothie, so stupidly I entered. A woman with a permanent scowl pulled my smoothie out of my hand and informed me she was either taking my drink or I could throw it away. I chose the 3rd option and left, never to return again. Great shop to get those souvenirs for our family and friends. This was my wife and I first trip to Hawai'i and we enjoyed being on the Big Island. Our last day was spent looking for gifts and we came across Unison Hawaii. The ladies who worked in the store were very helpful and we bought a number of items and some sportswear. I recommend this store to anyone who visits Kailua-Kona and is shopping for gift. It is an A+ establishment! read more

I found this store while looking for a Red Bull after a morning on the water. Immediately, we were greeted by the owner, Ron, who was way past helpful. He gave me some suggestions about where to run and what to expect and was the friendliest merchant we talked to.
