Fun coffee omakase experience! Made reservations about a month ahead of time. The whole experience takes about an hr and is done in small groups of 4. The omakase is led by JB and Aaron who you can tell are very passionate about coffee and know their craft. It was a little over $50 for two people which was a little high imo but I don't regret it since I was a fun experience and the coffee was really unique. It starts with a palate cleanser and small sweet pastry bite. Then moves to two drinks then a small savory bite. It ends with a sweet coffee drink. My partner was able to get his whole experience decaf which was really appreciated and also a completely different flavor profile which was fun to compare. They told us at the end that all the drinks together was about 4-5 espresso shots! Note: the entrance is from the parking lot behind the church and in the corner of all the shops. It was a bit confusing for us to find so plan ahead of time to give yourself some wiggle room.

The four courses! 1 tea and 3 coffees.

Omakase experience 5/5! We had a tea to start for course 1, then 3 courses of coffee. Great conversation with Aaron from beginning to end. He told us the description and origins of each drink. It was so neat to learn the inspirations of the drinks and about the different sources of local tea/coffee they get from around San Diego. You can definitely feel the passion and love for coffee through the interaction and drinks. Definitely recommend and will try again another month when the drinks rotate :)!

Definitely capture a unique speakeasy/omekase experience! The baristas/bartenders(?) are very attentive and friendly like a sushi chef and the drinks are delicious and creative. You can tell there's a lot of a thought that goes into the drink creations as they have a lot of depth of flavors in them Would go back for the coffee experience as well as trying out their standard specialty menu too

Had the omakase experience and it was everything I had wanted and more! Adventurous and delicious, every drink was complex and well balanced with a variety of unique flavors. JB and Aaron were so warm and welcoming and you can tell they are experts at a craft they love. The drinks were like quality coffee based mocktails (that tasted like cocktails) in a setting that has a speakeasy vibe. Looking forward to going back with friends soon!

Sad to see this place go!…read more This place was really great at cheap, authentic tasting Mexican food that was located in Barrio Logan. Place was family owned and a fairly small spot, but they really had a good selection of bulk goods to buy to make your own burritos, tacos, or whatever else you want. They also had really good burritos straight off the menu that were really big. Service was good, but cash forward. I don't believe they took credit cards if I remember correctly. The interior was decent, and a good amount of seating for patrons to enjoy their meal at. Usually this place would be super busy in the morning so you would have to anticipate a long line. I doubt this business will open up a new location somewhere else now that the building was sold and they shutdown, but here's hoping they come back better than ever in the future!

If you aren't prepared to wait in a line longer than a DMV line just to pay respects to Abuelita,…read morewe can't be friends. This place is back and somehow managed to pull off "chic yet quaint" without being annoying. Located around the corner from the OG spot next to Northgate Mercado. The menu is as authentic as it gets, and finding Menudo on the Saturday list felt like discovering a secret level in a video game. Abuelita is still the undisputed queen of the empire, sitting proud behind that register and making sure the whole operation doesn't descend into chaos while the line moves at a surprisingly brisk pace. Now, let's talk about the real stars of the show: the tacos and burritos are packed and super juicy. And those handmade tortillas mmm mmm! They come out so hot they should probably require a permit to handle, and eating them fresh off the stove is basically a spiritual experience. Do yourself a favor and order an extra dozen to-go; you'll regret it if you don't. Top-tier pro tip: if you manage to save any for later, hit them with a bit of butter and a tiny splash of water to bring them back to life on a pan. You deserve the buttery cloud. Highly recommended spot in the gentrified Barrio Logan neighborhood.

Still my go to place when I'm craving something sweet and special. Their cakes may be pricey, but…read morein my opinion, for the amount of work, effort, and quality of ingredients, I think they continue to be fair. For example, some other specialty bakeries/shops are charging similar prices for cakes and cheesecakes that are much simpler. In comparison, Extraordinary Dessert cakes take 3-4 days to make, have 6-8 alternating layers, and are typically adorned with edible gold and/or flowers. The key is to find which items you like and which are okay to pass on next time. What we ried this time: -Match Misu Cake (7/10): ricotta cake layers soaked in matcha and layered with marscapone whipped cream. This one was pretty good and ranks in my middle to high range. I only wish there was more matcha flavor (maybe if you dine in and get the sauce, this would help) or the matcha was paired with another flavor ... either go fruity (maybe a raspberry sauce, strawberry pieces, white peach pieces, or like a peach oolong cream layer) or go chocolately/coffee (maybe had some crushed up chocolate covered espresso beans). My go to's: -Ivoire Royale (10/10) - my ultimate favorite still. If you like light desserts, white chocolate, berries, and moist vanilla cake, thus one is for you. Classy and unpretentious -Shangrila (10/10) - my other favorite and will make you feel like a princess with all the pink chocolate curls. A little bit adventurous and innocently elegant. Ones to skip: -Au Chocolate / La Bete Noire / Dame Chocolate - get the Viking instead. That's my favorite of all their chocolate cakes -Lemon ricotta - get the Passionfruit Ricotta instead -Torta misu - the matcha misu is better. The tortilla misuse made me want a regular piece of tirmaisu than a cake version -Coconut cream - not bad, not amazing though

We normally come here weekly after dinner with family for dessert, but after this last experience…read morewe will not be returning. Also just so everyone is aware they're also liars just to mention & stupid.. she tells us her name is Karen thinking we don't know the owners name lol .. She was at the register at 7:20pm and was extremely rude and dismissive after we placed our order, especially regarding a child's dietary restrictions and health concerns. We politely asked if it would be possible to purchase a small cup of fruit , even just a couple strawberries cut up, because one child in our group cannot have sweets due to very strict dietary restrictions . Instead of simply saying they were unable to accommodate the request or offering another option, we were told to "go somewhere else," despite already spending the amount we did . The complete lack of professionalism and basic customer service was honestly shocking. It's disappointing to be treated that way at a place we have supported so consistently. This place has been going downhill , management for this place needs to step up .
