My daughter came in wanting a curly hairstyle and had already accepted that, because of her heat damage, she might need a trim. Instead, the stylist, Amanda, recommended cutting her hair into a very short style. I felt there were several other options that could have been discussed first, such as trimming her hair in stages or choosing a protective style. I even asked if there was another style that would allow my daughter to leave the salon feeling confident, but no alternatives were offered. Even a simple sleek-back bun or another creative style would have been better than having her leave with only a blowout. She came in excited for a curly style and left with nothing more than straightened hair. This was actually my second time giving Amanda a chance. For my daughter's prom, I booked a sew-in with her, but on the day of the appointment she was unable to provide the service as scheduled, which was very disappointing. Another issue I have experienced is the booking process. Customers are required to select a service and pay a deposit, but if the stylist later determines that the requested service is not appropriate after you arrive, there doesn't seem to be much flexibility or alternative options. As a customer, that is frustrating especially considering the prices charged. The one stylist I have consistently had a great experience with is Awa. She has always been professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Based on my personal experiences, I cannot recommend Amanda. I'm left feeling that there was very little effort to find a solution that met my daughter's needs. A great stylist doesn't just identify a problem they help the client find the best solution. For the prices this salon charges, I expected more creativity, communication, and customer service. Instead, my daughter left disappointed with only a blowout after coming in expecting a curly style. That is not the level of service I expect when paying premium salon prices.

I'm an asian man with thin hair and these folks cut asian hair like a pro. Usually when I go to other places they just buzz cut but this place listens and they make you look good and they style it too. I used to go to Kim Sun Young in Ktown NYC but now I don't need to since I go here. Sometimes I like to grow my hair out and have conservative hairstyle so this place manages that well. I even trusted this place to cut and style my hair a couple weeks prior to my wedding. I think they are Korean owned so it's definitely high-quality. There is also parking here, which is convenient. They wash your hair twice too and the prices are competitive. $45 for a men's haircut is good price and you leave the place looking and feeling like a million bucks!

I made an appointment for 3:00 p.m., but the front desk changed it to 3:15 without informing me. To make matters worse, customers who arrived after us were taken before us. When one stylist finished with a client, I naturally assumed it was finally our turn. Instead, she told us we weren't scheduled with her and immediately took another customer who had arrived after us. We were left waiting yet again. This has happened repeatedly, and it's extremely disappointing. An appointment should mean something. If customers are constantly kept waiting while others are taken first, there's no point in making an appointment at all. Unfortunately, because of these repeated experiences, I will not be coming back, and I can't recommend this salon to others.
