The whole experience replacing the stereo in my Jeep was great, beginning to end. I spoke with Sean who had also owned a Jeep and understood the acoustics, or lack there of in Jeeps. My husband thought we needed to get new speakers as well as the stereo, but Sean assured me, the speakers would not make a difference, and he was right!! When I came in initially, I also asked him about a light that would randomly come on, on my dash and he asked to come look under the hood. Previous owner had put an aftermarket alarm in and had cut a wire, left it hot and just shoved it behind the motor. Huge props! Unique did a terrific job installing a two channel dash cam and power / antenna for an amateur radio. All of that in four hours is very reasonable. The only thing to watch out for, if you want an NMO installed, the installer I had wasn't familiar with them and wasn't able to solder the PL259 on correctly. These guys did a fantastic installation on my Nakamichi double DIN CD player and Sony subwoofer amp. The system sounds great. And the installer explained to me how to operate my new deck. There were no scratches or marks from the installation as some previous companies had left when putting in the head unit. The installations were supposed to take up to 4 hours. While I waited in the store. The owner kindly put 2 installers on the job so I was out the door in well under 3. I will definitely be back! read more

I had an issue with my new JVC radio. I did not buy or have Unique Car Audio install the radio. The issue just started out of the blue when it booted and a black screen covered the Home screen saying HDMI any time you went between modes and back Home. A VERY annoying issue. The dealer that installed the radio in Gilbert off of Gilbert road was NO help at all and said I needed to do a factory reset and that it is in the JVC instruction manual. I downloaded all 105 pages of the JVC manual and read it several times. There is NO mention on how to do a factory reset. I went over to Unique Audio on a chance that they might be able to help me out or at least know what the issue was. I do not remember the gentleman's name that helped me, but he went out and took a look at my radio and went through a slew of options which he said were set OK. Then we got to a Reinitialize screen option and said this MAY work, but would reset a lot of my settings. We did save some settings before hand as well. At this point though...it didn't matter, just do it. After the revitalization and reboot the issue was solved and the radio worked like it was supposed to work. I was happy as hell it worked and thanked them. It is refreshing to see this type of customer service even though they had NOTHING invested in my purchase or install of the radio. I took my truck here to figure out a tweeter speaker and they didn't really do anything to try to fix it. I scheduled an appointment for a week later and when the day came I brought my truck and they didn't really have time to work on it and rushed me out and they seemed like they were in it for the money instead by checking the obvious stuff. Would recommend do a little more research on places before taking your car in and take other peoples experiences into consideration. read more

I had this shop make some one off custom rings for high performance kicker speakers to be mounted in my wranglers pods/ sound bar. First set was my bad i didn't realize i couldn't use the factory grill cover. Okay no big deal, Second set it where i really noticed the quality of this shop. You would think that a CUSTOM car audio shop would have a router table and be able to make a template and then cut the abs/wood to look pleasant as they will be exposed in the interior. I guess im wrong? Looks like a toddler took a jigsaw to the pieces! And then they have the audacity to charge $100/hr labor? Fuck that. I included pictures to show that the adapters that are supposed to be exactly the same (one side is not different than the other!!! UCA added a bluetooth connection directly to my 2010 C300 so I can use my cell phone to play music. Previously it worked but was too faint to hear clearly. My wife's Audi was having trouble with her sound system. The dealer told me all of the speakers were blown and could be fixed for $2100. Audio Express told me I needed a new amp (without looking) and suggested replacing it for a couple thousand. Nobody wanted to roll up their sleeves and diagnose the problem... except Sean. They had the car for a couple hours, replaced two blown rear speakers, adjusted all the crossovers and tightened some loose connections. This car now sounds better than it has in the 4 years we've owned it! read more

I was looking to get some door speakers replaced ASAP. I called my usual car audio store, they were booked solid. But they recommended Unique Car Audio as a trusted option of theirs. I called, told them i was looking for some good door speakers for my 2001 Tacoma and i needed them installed in less than a week. They assured me they could get it done. We talked specifics about what would work best for my truck. Agreed on a brand and size of speaker. Booked an appointment. Appointment days comes, my speakers are on the counter awaiting my arrival. Come to find out other customers wanted to buy the speakers, but the staff held the speakers for me since i booked an appointment. I was totally grateful for that! Could have made a sure sale on the other customer but held them for my appointment. While i waited i was offered some pizza, which was much appreciated. So installation was an hour or less, and the price was exactly what was quoted over the phone. Plus they were very open to talking shop with me about future speaker installation ideas. So i am glad my primary shop recommended Unique Car Audio. They came through in a pinch and proved why other shops recommend them as a trusted site. This place is fantastic even if they couldn't install my amp, no fault of theirs though. I have a 2018 Kia Niro (hybrid) which apparently doesn't have a separate 12 volt battery but instead tied together with the main hybrid battery. I think mine is the only one in the market designed this way, so good lesson for them as well as for me. What I appreciated most is them being weary about it as soon as they didn't find a battery under the hood. They did research to discover this and weren't just going to wing it. I guess other shops have installed it for others, and fried their electronics and probably voided any warranty on the car. I'm so appreciative they didn't just do the work just to make a quick buck, and instead let me everything in advance.
