There's a reason why the crowds aren't piling into this mall, there really isn't that much to see here. There used to be a nice coffee shop upstairs that I enjoyed going to, that was the only place where I didn't have to fit off 10 people for a table, however since the coffee shop closed, I never really set foot there anymore. There's nothing to see, the shops are overflowing with mainland Chinese (namely Louis Vuitton and Chanel). It kind of defeats the purpose of going into a shopping mall. I believe they went through a bit of renovations a few years ago, possibly a rebranding exercise, I don't see much difference. I think they could possibly do a little better positioning the mall. The shops itself are decent, just for some reason, they haven't managed to bring the right crowds.

With seven location dotted around HK Island, Kowloon and the NT, you will never be short of a bag shop again. Their main focus is on functional bags made from water resistant materials. They carry a large stock of sports bags and small rucksacks, as well as camera bags, computer bags, fashion bags (for the ladies), etc. I particularly like their bags that are super functional, a sort of rucksack, courier bag, laptop case, all in one. The brands they hold (Musou and ZOF) are not particularly known, so no Prada or LV, but they are of good quality and quite cost effective. Really, at that price, if it falls apart after a few months, just get another. They have a website with all of their products, but the site is a bit buggy and you can't actually buy from it (even though it does give you the option to). It does, however, actually show the products and has a bolt load of information both in English and Chinese. Check them out, the shop staff are really pleasant and ready to help.

I have been to various sports shops in Wan Chai and Causeway Bay just looking for a rucksack and they all had the same problem: little selection, they are more focused on other sports items, especially clothes. I happened to walk by this shop today and decided to have a look inside. Good decision...they have all kinds of bags: sports, laptop, casual...I'm not very keen on the design of the casual ones and wouldn't buy one of those for myself, they look too 'pragmatic'. But that's all I need for my rucksack as I'm planning to use it for hiking and backpacking (light lugagge). I found the perfect one, thanks to the help of one members of the staff; she was spot on with my bag picking one that's within my price range (470 HKD), water resistant, quality material, big enough for possibly a week of backpacking and perfect as a hand luggage. The only decision that remains to be done is color! As I wanted to buy an unisex for use by a few at home. I'm going back tomorrow for the yellow one finally. The options are broad and variety is great. Looking for a functional good quality bag? This is the place.

If you're looking for work wear, Uniqlo is the place to be. The main section of Uniqlo has every kind of clothing item possible and in every color possible. You can probably pick up the same v-neck t-shirt in about seven different colors here. Uniqlo specializes in basics, but they have a section where they partner with brands that you would think are pretty unimaginable in the clothing industry. They've partnered with Campbell - yes, the soup - before, and they had a series of t-shirts with different soup cans on them. Strange, but you'd be surprised that they're actually popular! The more common themes they've done are cartoons like Snoopy, Tom and Jerry and Mickey Mouse. Last year, they collaborated with UK furniture store Laura Ashley - while the patterns were nice, all the tops kind of looked like table cloth to me! I guess this is the section for the more quirky of the personalities - I don't know about you, but the idea of being a walking advertisement for Campbell soup is not for me. The quality of clothes at Uniqlo is good, but they wear out after a while. Uniqlo has a pretty big sleepwear section, stocking sets in cute and colorful prints. They feel really good too - the quality is kind of like velour. I've bought a couple of sets over the years and find that with repeated washes, the material hardens and results in little raised fur balls (for the Cantonese-speaking, the colloquial term is 'hei mo' or 起毛). I've bought cardigans here before and this didn't happen, and I can't speak for t-shirts because I don't own any from here. Perhaps it's just the velour-like material that causes this to happen over time? You'll be glad to know that Uniqlo is quite affordable - a typical t-shirt is $99, and a hoodie probably $199. The reason I don't buy from Uniqlo more often is because I find that their stuff is a little baggy and lacks cutting. Otherwise, Uniqlo is a great place to stock up on basics at an affordable price!

I just really liked his suits that he made for Jon Hamm, and a couple formal interviews he had given for news outlets that ended up online. What impressed me, was that he wasn't trying to be like a British atelier or traditional. The shop was more concerned about self expression and having fun (find the suit he made for Jon Hamm) . Endless linnings at your disposal, as well as styles. I ended up ordering a basic black suit, on purpose. But still ended up with some signature details: modern slim peak lapel, hand pick stitching on the lapel, and slight roped shoulders. . Details you really appreciate after you walk through a department store and realize those details are something you can only get when you order custom. It's a nice subtle flex without being obnoxious. The suit fit great, with the tailored custom shirts to match. I was so impressed I ended up ordering another one. This time decided to have a little more fun with color accents. When I got back from my trip, I did a deep dive and realized I barely scratched the surface of the options that were available. After I received the 2nd suit Navy with aqua blue accents and loved it (pictured in the review). I had to order a 3rd and "Let Roshan Cook". I ended up getting the light grey suit pictured in the review. Roshan consulted personally on this one, and since it was my 3rd suit I was down to try new things: gauntlet cuffs, contrast buttons, compact 3 roll 2 (Sam's Tailor exclusive), and double accent lapel button holes. The suit turned out amazing. These people make suits for celebrities and political figures from all over the world. Don't be afraid to go with their recommendations. Overall it was a great experience, Roshan really means what he says that he will always be available for your questions about suits and style advice. Shout out to Manu Melwani (Roshan's dad), Mira, Durgee, and the rest of the staff. I had a great experience with everyone I interacted with. If you go don't be afraid to have fun with the small details.

I probably spent more than HKD $2000 (USD $300) just in this store alone after paying 5+ visits in 2 months during my walk back home from the subway station... I figure I should write a review for them given that I have spent so much time there. Never really shopped at Uniqlo before until a friend of mine told me the underwear there is very comfy, so I walked in there looking for panties and ended up buying a jacket, a vest, a pair of pants, a few shirts, a few tops, socks, pajamas, eventually the whole store. The prices are generally reasonable and the quality of clothes are well made even though they're mostly made in China. (I know some people are very against it, but I personally judge the quality more than the country of manufacture. I've seen ugly stuff made in Italy before, although rare.. haha) I love the creative yet classy designs and cutting styles at Uniqlo. Beware though, it's Japanese size, so if you wear an American small, you're probably a Japanese medium. The staff in this particular store are very friendly. They had always been friendly and welcoming when I walked in. They acknowledged me when I was standing in line at the register even when they were busy with other customers. It appears to have the same stuff and is marketed the same in the layout of the store, with the one exception that this store is all on one floor versus being on two floors in Hong Kong. Great clothes that are structured, timeless, a great price point and with the exception of anything made from merino wool (I dont buy merino wool, because I dont like how it can snag), all of the fabrics from COS have washed really well and retained their shape with little worry.
