This store is moderately sized so the selection is decent. However what I don't like are the insane crowds here on the weekends. Really difficult to get around the store here. Like I said above, I like their products. Specifically their basic product lines like AIRism and HEATTECH which offer functional clothing at reasonable prices. AIRism is perfect for HK as it keeps you comfortable on warm weather days which this city has plenty of. Although there was large crowds, the line to pay was orderly and the service here friendly in spite of the chaos. If you live in the NT, this Uniqlo is perfectly fine. Just plan accordingly since this store is at New Town. It might be better to go to another store just to avoid the mall crowds here.

If you're looking for work wear, Uniqlo is the place to be. The main section of Uniqlo has every kind of clothing item possible and in every color possible. You can probably pick up the same v-neck t-shirt in about seven different colors here. Uniqlo specializes in basics, but they have a section where they partner with brands that you would think are pretty unimaginable in the clothing industry. They've partnered with Campbell - yes, the soup - before, and they had a series of t-shirts with different soup cans on them. Strange, but you'd be surprised that they're actually popular! The more common themes they've done are cartoons like Snoopy, Tom and Jerry and Mickey Mouse. Last year, they collaborated with UK furniture store Laura Ashley - while the patterns were nice, all the tops kind of looked like table cloth to me! I guess this is the section for the more quirky of the personalities - I don't know about you, but the idea of being a walking advertisement for Campbell soup is not for me. The quality of clothes at Uniqlo is good, but they wear out after a while. Uniqlo has a pretty big sleepwear section, stocking sets in cute and colorful prints. They feel really good too - the quality is kind of like velour. I've bought a couple of sets over the years and find that with repeated washes, the material hardens and results in little raised fur balls (for the Cantonese-speaking, the colloquial term is 'hei mo' or 起毛). I've bought cardigans here before and this didn't happen, and I can't speak for t-shirts because I don't own any from here. Perhaps it's just the velour-like material that causes this to happen over time? You'll be glad to know that Uniqlo is quite affordable - a typical t-shirt is $99, and a hoodie probably $199. The reason I don't buy from Uniqlo more often is because I find that their stuff is a little baggy and lacks cutting. Otherwise, Uniqlo is a great place to stock up on basics at an affordable price!

The whole store in general is very clean, slick, has a wonderful vibe. The T-shirt section is the best, as they have cubes in the walls highlighting different t-shirts. There's also a tablet station for guests to design their own t-shirts. I love the socks in Uniqlo in Asia as they are smaller than the ones in US. I bought three pairs for 25% cheaper price compared to Uniqlo in New Jersey. Other products also have similar or cheaper price, as HK has no sales tax. The staff are friendly here. They helped me at the checkout to quickly pay for the items.

It carries modern, casual clothes from the U.S. The colors are nice and warm and makes me wish I was on a boat somewhere. There's a maxi dress here and there, but it's for those who want to be stylish and comfortable. The sweat-shorts are perfect for my wardrobe. Who doesn't want to go out in their sweatpants every day? The cuff on the bottom gives them a nice refined look. There are some nice collared button ups that would pair nicely with linens pants or summer shorts. I love the Citizen and DL jeans that they have hanging in the back by the fitting room. They look long and lean will be perfect for winter. Even if you like to dress to the 10s most of the time, the clothing in here is perfect for your not so fancy fashion days. *Also, there is a random collection of candles at the top of the clothes hanging racks. If you're in the market, these can make a lovely addition to your home.

The prices however, seem very high for what is on sale but it's the cuts, not the out-there designs, that you pay for. If you're anything like me, the perfect white t-shirt is a coveted wardrobe item and I always manage to find one in Tiare. My preference are the silk mixes which just hang so perfectly. Actually, all of the jersey items are hits for me. If you can stomach paying around the $1000 mark for a simple top, you won't regret the purchase. I wear mine time and time again and never have to worry about them bobbling in the wash or those oh so annoying holes that mysteriously appear under the arm! If you're on their mailing list, Tiara will invite you to sample sales which are perfect if you are of average size. You can snap up items for a fraction of the cost but be warned, stock goes FAST. There is a small jewelry range as well as items such as boob tape and some underwear. A really cute boutique with a focus on quality.

They have a location in Terminal 1 and this one in Terminal 2. There is a difference between the two though. This location is actually a Lacoste Outlet. So you will find apparel from this popular brand at discounted prices. Some things are marked down 50% or more. The MSRP price tag is quite high though. Pricier than buying Lacoste apparel in the US, but the discounts make the cost a little more reasonable. The selection here is mostly men's apparel, though there is a small selection for women. Apparel here consisted of mostly polos, t-shirts and long sleeve shirts from the Lacoste and Lacoste Live brands. Found a polo that was marked down from over HK$900 to under HK$400 that I liked. Tried it on in one of the makeshift changing rooms in the back. You will want to check online for sizes or ask one of the sales reps as Lacoste uses a numeric system for their clothing. Small is size 4 FYI for men's polos. If you like the Lacoste brand and have time to burn at HKIA, check out this outlet location. You might be able to find a deal here. Though you could probably find comparable prices in the US for these same goods.

Gap brings a tinge of familiarity and sizes (#1) for the tourist crowd, which is how I found myself here in the first place. The store is actually pretty big, which is not an easy feat in a place like HK. The seasonal selection has a lot for men and women and to some extent, kids. (#2) Each area is fairly clean and the layout is easy to decipher all sections. The accessories (sunglasses, neckwear especially) is a bit limited, but I imagine most people aren't coming to Gap to for this. Like many big chains in this part of the world, the store is overstaffed with a lot of employees running around in search of something to do. The last two times I came here I was rang up by a girl named Ringtone. (#3) The best part is she thought MY name was strange. This alone makes me want to come back. Another thing to note: While most Gap stores will take in anything from other Gap stores as return items, it is subject to manager approval for international locations. The prices are very good, the clothes are good quality and the staff is helpful. We stopped in for a look and ended up spending $900 HKD to get $200 off. We got about 10 items ranging from pants, a jacket, a few shirts and two sweaters. The second time we stopped in (two days later), the promotion ended however, there were discounts on certain items throughout the store. The deals were so good, we wanted to buy more but our suitcases were too full already. I would definitely shop at this store again the next time I am in Hong Kong!
