Absolute highest recommendation to reach out to the Idea Kitchen team - Adam (owner), Ana, and Will are fantastic ambassadors. You'd be shortchanging yourself and your productivity not to consider checking them out if you need a local workspace. A few details: I visited family in Larchmont for August 2021. I grew up there locally, but now live on the west coast. My wife and I stayed with my family for a month-long visit, and needed a way to be productive for our jobs during this time. We both have desk jobs that require many video and phone calls. After some online research and a recommendation from local residents, I chose to rent an office at the Idea Kitchen for our time in NY. It was an incredibly good decision. The Idea Kitchen team, facility, and office delivered 10 out of 10 on everything you could want in a co-working partner. The space itself is fantastic: ultra-clean, spacious, massive windows/ well-lit, high-ceilings, and modern. It felt like many co-working spaces and offices I've seen for tech start-ups on the west coast. The security app and auto-access was convenient and easy - I had 24/7 access with the plan I purchased, which was fantastic to be able to use the space for early and late calls as needed. The entire staff was incredibly responsive, professional, friendly, and just made everything easy. From answering my initial questions via phone & email prior to committing, to helping me manage my account, to helping me navigate anything I needed when I was in the office (printing access, temperature control, etc.), the team was fantastic. One evening at about 9pm I mistakenly locked my phone & computer in the office. I called the after-hours number and ultimately Adam (owner) personally solved the issue so that I could get my items right away. In addition, the other members/ customers all seemed quite kind and community-oriented, while also driven to get their work done, so it was an environment that was conducive to being productive, as well as being motivating. Overall, it was an incredibly pleasant and worthwhile experience to spend my work days & evenings at The Idea Kitchen. I hope you're as lucky as I was that they have availability for when you are considering working there.

As a venue, it's classy and chic. From the perspective of an event planner, it's several months of work. The empty whiteness needs to be color lit, the audio needs to be set up and stretched to the far corners of the room and the ground needs something to un-hinge it from the wall and add dimension. Furniture needs to be brought in, electricians, and coat closet workers. The beauty is both in the simplicity of the space, and the amount of imagination (and $$$) to execute a really fantastic event or show here.

The gathering was fabulous, a cocktail party with a runway show that included special guest and great supporter Kimora Lee Simmons. The venue is a wide, clean space with high ceiling. A space that can be transformed for whatever event you are planning to have. The facility even has a kitchen for any catering or on-site entertaining needs. I was blown away with the setup JustFab had. A beautiful back drop, a runway with stage, white sofas on each side for VIP guest, three (3) bars, photo booths, a step and repeat, so much going on but the best part was the all white linen fitting rooms to try on our FREE new jeans... That's right, they gave us all free jeans from their new collection to take home. Fabulous event in fabulous venue, makes for a justfab time ;) Look into this space for your next event.

intimate space located on a corner just one block east of hope and anchor on van brunt avenue…read more it's a small gallery, which has the advantages that the owner was present and open to questions during my first visit. i love galleries like this. they have a real investment in the community, and, if things work out, they become an integral part of a neighborhood. there was a table-top installation piece on display, featuring an abstract architectural model of the city blocks in the neighborhood, complete with representations of people from the area. it's the kind of immersive work that one can lose oneself in. on the walls were photographs and works of graphic art. the space plays hosts to parties with live music as well, giving me more reasons to make more visits to red hook.

This space is bare and ready for a designer or wedding planner to come in and work their magic. I'd high recommend hugging a professional to design and customize the space as you are only renting only the venue and have to bring in everything else (furniture, decor, food, serving staff, etc.) to go in it. The place has two bathrooms, a couple different levels with stairs, a terrace with a beautiful view of the Hudson River and a back area with a couple refrigerators and plenty of space where you can store everything that shouldn't be seen by guests. There is a spot in a corner up some stairs where you can have dejay set up or you can connect your own decide to play music through Sonos. Every window you look out of provides a spectacular view of the vast city or the water. It's on the top floor of the building in the penthouse that has a guard on the first floor and two elevators. People actually inhabit the lower floors. The current Ramscale studio director Madeline is a joy to work with in that she's timely in her email responses and very helpful all the way around in answering any questions that come up.

We hosted a launch event for a client here, and at first glimpse were kind of in awe of and surprised by the unique quality of the site and weren't sure it was what we wanted (since we booked it sight unseen.) We worked with the venue manager Rocky (the best,) to make it our own through A/V set ups, moving furniture and all of the visual fixins provided by our event company Events By Dano (see review,) and it really ended up being a fantastic place to work with. No stuffy ballroom, no crappy, dirty, overdone nightclub space; Ramscale provides you with something different and unique. Pros: - great space with great stories and history and a one-of-a-kind view of the Village and the Hudson - amazing management by Rocky; available for anything, ready for anything and gives the best tips on good food you can order in during your event set-up. Flexible, accommodating, laid-back and friendly but professional. - the place is completely white, so it serves as a blank canvas to bring in whatever colors you need whether for a corporate event or for a wedding or other special event. Cons: - It's a few blocks from the 2 closest subway stops and it's nearly impossible to catch a cab on the West Side Hwy following. Bottom line? Not the most convenient of places as compared to a venue in Midtown. - It can be a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Just had the strangest conversation w/ the event contact person…read more I provided basic info on the event I'm planning - non-profit org, 150 ish ppl, in the fall, cocktails/hds, evening event & asked for basic costings. The woman gave me the run down on ancillary services that may come into play, like catering & security staff, fine, but when I asked about basic rental fee for the space she launched into this script on "well, they are different fees for different types of events like editorial shoots are one price while other events may differ in price". Um, thanks bc I just gave you the specifics on the event I'm planning, maybe we can focus on the costs associated with that type of event? She was clearly attempting to evade price information (why I'm uncertain) so I frustratingly just ended the circular conversation.

I was happy with my stay and would return. I thought the price was a LITTLE high for what you get…read more My room was a single bed with a sink. There's no elevator so be prepared to walk up five TALL flights if you're on the 5th floor. The hotel was quiet. Floors 3, 4 & 5 all use shared bathrooms. I never had a problem getting a bathroom. The room and bed were very clean. Bed is firm, which I like. Bathroom is TINY. You may need to sit on comode sideways to fit :) The location can't be beat! I was able to easily walk to the theatre disctrict as well as SoHo and Greenwich Village. The people working at the hotel were very nice, approachable and accomodating (I requested extra towels, blanket, an iron and luggage storage). They offered bottled water and Kuerig coffee in the "lobby" (there really isn't a lobby...it's really just a hallway). A "low cost" suggestion to Management to improve Guest stay....add more hooks or towel rods in room..need more places to hang wet towels and clothes. Also, a luggage stand would be great. Even in my little room, it would have fit.
