All of the staff are very friendly and accommodating. After you step off the busy street into the hotel lobby, they are a treat to speak with and are great representatives of the LUMA brand. The room itself was a lot bigger than we imagined. It was clean, up to date, and had all amenities we could need for our week stay. Also the room AC was great, considering we visited during a heat wave. Lastly, daily housekeeping is a huge plus. Post-COVID, many hotels we've visited no longer do daily cleaning, so coming back to a nice clean room after a long day being tourists was a welcome sight. When we come back to visit NYC, we'll definitely stay here again.

If torn between paying for a landmark city view or city view, get the landmark! - Easy to get a digital key and maneuver through the property - Urban area increase to per diem (total $28/day for my stay with Gold status) - Lulla is great for any meal, a cocktail, or even an espresso drink. Gravitated here for convenience as it was delicious and great way to use Hilton credits. - Friendly stay at check in/check out (shout out to Pav, Herbie and Jamie) - Comfortable bed that you get at Hilton properties, so great nights sleep even with the sounds of NYC in the background - Complimentary coffee in the lobby if you want no frills pick-me-up Cons: - Only three hangers and no drawers to put your clothes in. I do think the bathroom being only a barn door was my only qualm, as it didn't give much privacy. The lounge area was nice and spacious, and would be a great spot to get some work done if you don't want to bother the people you're staying with. The staff at the front desk, at the bar, and throughout the hotel were all so pleasant and kind! The location is great. 36th street, between 5th and 6th avenues. The Herald Square subway station can be accessed at 35th street, a very short walk, and both the yellow and orange lines stop there. There are some good restaurants just a few footsteps away, including the one connected with the hotel. And the heart of Koreatown, with those restaurants, is just a few blocks south. If you're looking for a centrally located place in great proximity to the normal NYC attractions and food, this is it. This might be the most quiet hotel in which we've stayed in the city. Sure, if there is a very loud siren on a nearby street, you'll hear it. But nothing was loud enough to awaken either of us. We did hear our neighbors one morning, early, but that was it. They must have been packing to leave. You won't need ear plugs. We stayed on the 16th floor (I think that the hotel has about 20 floors) in a queen suite, empire state building view. The hotel is really close to the empire state building so you have to go to the window and look up to see it. But for a few extra bucks it could be worth it. There was a lot of room to move around, which is a bonus in NYC. And having a mini refrigerator, a microwave, and a second sink in the room is simply awesome. The staff is really nice. Jamie at the front door is awesome at his job. The front desk staff, namely Shelley (and others), were friendly and also helpful. There are 2 elevators serving the building and they can get busy. You might have a bit of a wait now and then, but it's never too bad. If you leave early or get home late, it's no wait. If you are coming or going when others are checking out, it might be a few minutes. We love NYC and I think that we've found our place. Location, quiet, clean, lots of room, friendly. We'll definitely look into this hotel as our first choice the next time we're in town.

Not just that the elevator didn't come for at least 15 minutes but when it finally did arrive, it was usually packed to the brim with angry guests and you had to wait for the next one. We even had to take our suitcases down the stairs the day we checked out because our airport pickup was waiting. The elevator wasn't as bad in non-morning hours but it was a huge inconvenience for any time we didn't try to leave before peak breakfast time. Elevator issues aside, housekeeping was extremely poor. One day they didn't come until 5pm after we had returned from a full day out so we just skipped service that day. When they did come, they frequently forgot to replenish items like coffee cups, towels, toilet paper, etc. The free hot breakfast food was atrocious, except for the steel cut oatmeal. Never again.

It was also more affordable than numerous hotels such as The Freehand, Sonder, and Moxy. The only cheaper hotel was POD 39 but everyone would have had to share rooms with bunk beds and subway to the office! My coworkers loved the Inn and raved about how large and cute the rooms were.
